Luckily I can walk indoors where I live. The hallways are long enough although it takes 30 lengths to make a mile. My neighbors are all supportive and are hoping for new carpeting when I finally wear a path,I walked 40 min. yesterday and hope for 60 today!

Another quick one for me yesterday -- it's below 0 here and I make it a fast one! Brrr........
I went to Scottsbluff to see the neurosurgeon today so walked around the stores over there. The neurosurgeon says that my pain is arthritis so I will be able to resume exercising again. I plan to go to the YMCA and workout with some of the peer support group members tomorrow afternoon so that should be fun. The end of next week will get the results of the bone density test so will know if I have osteoporosis. In the meantime I am going to take it one day at a time.
Today was a nice day here so while I was in Scottsbluff waiting for counseling walked around several stores. I feel that every little bit helps. I see my neurosurgeon on Thursday and we'll see if he releases me to exercise and what kinds I can be doing.

and it was a nice Winter day -- sun was out and the temperature wasn't too bad -- so I had an enjoyable walk with my 2 dogs!

I did go to the local Kmart and walk around the store for about half an hour.

I hear ya completely! That sounds like me -- but I've found that getting out of the work environment over the noon hour refreshes you, clears your mind, fills your lungs with fresh oxygen and truly helps with the afternoon back at work. You're more relaxed to begin work at 1.
I enjoy walking at lunchtime at work, but sometimes my anxiety problems get in the way. I feel the load of all the work I need to do and get obsessed. Then I think "I don't have time to go out. I need to keep working and get this done." But I'm not really overloaded; even one task that isn't due until next week sometimes feels overwhelming.

It counts and it's fantastic! I got my noon hour walk in yesterday and loved it! Out of that office building for an hour????? Pure relief!!!
