I've seen a cardiologist over my heart skipping beats and he told me the same thing. Don't worry its just your heart beating prematurely and then when you feel the next beat it feels like its skipping but its resuming its normal rythym (sp). That didn't make me feel any better either when he told me that. I believe the condition is called Premature Ventricular Contraction or PVC for short. Look it up on google. Apparantly alot of people have this and in normal healthy people its not deadly.
I take beta blockers to keep it under control. Ask your doctor about maybe starting you on a beta blocker. Beta blockers also help with anxiety as well.
I'm totally in your shoes and I definitely feel your pain. I hope this helps! :-)
Panic attacks can be really unpleasant and freak you out. I definitely feel you on that point. The doctor definitely should have said more than to 'not worry about it' because worry is what fuels the attacks. Did the doctor even offer you advice on how to prevent or calm yourself down when it happens? If it was a regular doctor they may not say much on it. You may wish to see a specialist for techniques on prevention and for bringing your heart rate down when it happens.
I know a lot of people say that exercise can help a lot, and I know a handful that use meditation and breathing exercises. It's something I continue to struggle with myself since i've never been really attracted to meditation/yoga etc so I tend to use exercise or busying myself with something non-stressful to run out the nervous energy. That's a short term approach but usually for the long-term you need to see a psychologist to help you with severe anxiety.
Did your doctor say your heart skips because of your anxiety? In any case, I would want a better explanation or a strategy to combat it. Could it be caffeine or medication? Nothing worse than being told not to worry and then you worry about your worrying.
I have arrived, I am home In the here, in the now I am solid, I am free In the ultimate I dwell Buddha
My anxiety get really bad when my heart skips, today they were real bad like every few beats. The docs says not to worry about them but how can you not worry about them. Today i stayed in a panic all day over them
