You've received alot of good info to help -- but how about a mantra! When the flashback comes -- repeat over and over to yourself 3 words! I use "pray, love and support." Calmly say your words to yourself -- pick out 3 words that relate to "calmness" and "peace" -- or, try mine -- they reinforce your spiritual feeling-- PRAY knowing that God is there with you and He'll see you through, LOVE life and SUPPORT others around you that you love. Give it a try and see what happens. I hope our ideas help you and you can feel relief. Take care, hun.

In the meantime, it's always helpful for me to know that I control "it" (the anxiety), it doesn't control me. Even though it feels like it sometimes. I CAN calm myself down if I put my mind towards being calm and not concentrate on the escalating anxiety. I bought some CD's from a place called healthjourneys.com that the therapist recommended to me. Some are for stress, some anxiety, some PTSD and many others. I pop one of those in and concentrate on that soothing voice and try to block out all the other voices.

Wish I could do more to help. I know what you're going through. I think you can use a hug emoticon .
There now. Let us know how you are feeling today.

Yes, Monika, it's time to ask for help again from your therapist.

If it is to be, it is up to me.

Monika,

Do you see a psychiatrist? If so, I suggest you call him or her? If you don't see one, I suggest you find one.
