I started taking Zoloft about two years ago i was doing 50mg and it made me feel like i was in a haze and real sleepy all the time it was even worse when i was on Lexipro i woke up a lot in the middle of the night crying cause i felt like i was hurting... I'm now taking only 25 mg of Zoloft and i like that MUCH better and getting therapy which has helped even more they thought i was over medicated I have been feeling pretty good since they lowered the dose and i find that seeing my Councilor has really helped.

Cymbalta - I am looking at this one. But sister said it did nothing for her anxiety. I just want to find something that will help with the weight.

Hang in there. It takes a bit before your body adjusts. Good Luck with it.

They are the blue ones. I'm getting used to the feeling. I didn't have it last night, but today it's here. And i'm only about a 2, pretty good day.

Other side effects are dry mouth, sexual problems GRR!, and the daytime sleepiness (not resting well at night).

I'm going to hang in there and give my body a bit of time to adjust before trying somthing new.

ah the joys of life! LOL

I haven't taken that one. But I too feel the tightness in my throat and jaw. Sometimes the jaw pain comes from grinding my teeth, due to stress and anxiety and I have to use a night guard most of the time. If I don't the jaw pain turns into a migraine. I too struggle is the sex drive area and I take lexapro 20mg. I do realize everyone is different, I think I am going to consider cymbalta.

When you say you are taking half the pill, what is the full dosage? What color is the pill? The blue ones are 50mg, the yellow ones are 100, and I think the 150s are green. I didn't know there was a 75mg. I take the 100s. I did feel a little groggy and slept a lot in the beginning, until my body adjusted. It's best to take at bedtime and take the whole thing. Did your dr give you a starter pack? I think it starts you off at 10mg for the first couple of days, then 25 for the next three or four days, then finally the 50s. Could it be that you started off with too high a dosage?

I just started taking it a week ago. I started wtih a half a pill...what is that 25mg? and i was fine. Then I was to move up to a whole pill and thats when I noticed it. I tried splitting it and taking half in the morning and half at night...but I had a horrible time sleeping, couldn't stop worrying. so I'm going to take the whole thing tonight and see if that helps me sleep. :(
Next week I move to 75mg.
It doesnt' seem to be a 'squeezy' problem when I split them though.

I hate this anxiety! How do I get back to 'normal'??? :(

I don't remember anything like that when I was on Zoloft - I mostly remember feeling dizzy and zombie-ish on Zoloft.

Tawny - I currently take zoloft, and haven't noticed any side-effects. I started at a low dosage, 25mg, and gradually increased. Also, I'm pretty sure my sex drive has increased. You know that different meds affect different people in different ways. I would talk to my doctor if I noticed any side-effects that weren't good. Trying something else might be the way to go. Did you just start? What dosage are you currently taking? Have you noticed this consistently?

tawny: I took zoloft for a while and I really liked it however i had NO sex drive at all...so therefore had to switch to cymbalta, which i like.
I never did have any problems with zoloft except the lack of sex drive.
Hope you get it figured out.....why are you going up on your dose? Have you tried other meds out?
