It sounds good but when my attacks hit me I could be standing there doing noting and BANG, I go into full crazy mode. I usually go outside and walk, which helps. My daughter suffered anxiety before I ever did and I had one when I was with her, and she even remarked on how fast it hit me. I will look into that though as I have never heard of it. Thanks!

Qigong is kind of an active meditation. You stand up and are guided to move your body (mostly arms) slowly in certain ways to harness energy. I like it because it focuses your mind (which will lessen anxious thought/feelings). It really distracts my mind in a positive direction. I feel refreshed, safe, and peaceful when I'm done. And these are not feelings that I commonly have! I'm often a high-strung mess :)

I've been doing this lately in times of anxiety, and especially when a panic attack is coming on. It has been helping me so much! Just this morning I got a panic attack. I took 2 mg Ativan but even that wasn't helping. Finally I broke out my Qigong DVD, and it totally helped! I usually try to use Qigong in place of my meds, but I was tired this morning and didn't think of it right away. I also do sitting meditations with a CD that work well, too, because they are "active" meditations. Just wanted to share what's working for me! :)
