Therapy has worked the best for me, much more than any medication has, but you have to be patient with it and yourself and make sure you have a good therapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist. If you don't feel like you have a good rapore with one, then switch immediately because it can be a long process finding the right one for you, but it can be essential to you getting healthier and learning how to deal with your stress and anxiety.
I don't know what it's like in the US, but I'd check with your family doctor and also see if there are programs at your local hospital. The ones I've participated in have been immensely helpful to me. Especially the group therapy. It caused me much anxiety initially, but it ended up helping me the most. I've participated in a few different types of groups or courses there, but right now I belong to a year long (once a week) psychodynamic group and I'm loving it and seeing the results. At first it was hugely anxiety causing, and I cried everytime I spoke but now I can speak freely and assertively with no problems about whatever the topic is or about my own difficulties. I know the hospital also has groups for anxiety, depression, OCD, etc.
Other than that, I'd suggest some of the books and/or CD's mentioned in that specific forum for help right now while you are waiting for your results. I've found that book 'Worry' by Edward M. Hallowell, MD, very helpful to me (check your library), or other meditation CD's or books.
I am thinking of you and I hope your results are negative and you can come to a proper diagnosis. I know moving and being away from your husband is also a stressor for you, and that is perfectly normal as well. A lot of your "worries" are practical and normal, but the key is not to let it take over your life (and your body). That's the hard part, but maybe the book or other books can help you with that.
Keep us updated. I wish you the best and I hope I helped in some little way. If there is anything else you need, or question, feel free to ask here or sparkmail me if you want.
I just blogged about what I am going thru but I am sure that you all would understand it much more than others. I have no idea what to do. I have desided that I may try to see a therapist to see if that helps. I don't know if it will but I really don't like having to take medication and if I an avoid increasing my dosage of the Zoloft I think that that would be good. If you all have any other ideas as to what I can do I could really use it. I am just getting so stressed out. Sorry to vent on you twice if you read my blog too.
