What wonderful ideas!
I'd been toying with the idea of having a Summer Solstice Party because we've had such a ridiculously long winter here, but a Harry Potter Party would be much more fun.

He was a tubby little chap who looked as if he had been poured into his clothes and had forgotten to say "when!"

I was just wondering if anyone was planning a party for the final installment of the HP series? I have my in the works and it going to be epic!! But I'm still looking for affordable ideas to use. My mom said she would give me $500 dollars for the party(I think she's as excited for the party as I am, but she doesn't have to plan it! hahaha) I've been looking at cheap halloween stores and party stores and have got some great ideas! that are cheap! I'll put a couple of my ideas below incase some of you are planning a party and want some ideas. If you want some of my HP inspired recipes just post a message, but I warn that they aren't very SP friendly.

So first off I named every room in my house. Heres the new names :)
dining room- Great Hall
living room- Common Room
kitchen- Diagon Alley
mom's office- Prof. McGonagall Office
Garage- Knockturn alley
off limits space- 3rd floor corridor
Basement- Chamber of secrets
basement bathroom- Moaning myrtles bathroom
Brothers room- snapes office
my room- Headmistress office
my art space- different classrooms
exercise room- Filtch's office

during the whole party I will have the HP movies playing on the "common room" tv and each room has stuff to go along with their theme. I got everyones house address to send them a invitation by muggle mail. (If you want the script for the letter or what comes with the letter, just message me)

Decorations have been the biggest thing so far, and I have found a couple spots that have some kool stuff. Oriental Trading Co. Shindigz, Amazon.com, Ebay, Dollar Tree and 5 below. These are all great place to find cute cheap items for an epic party. I have also been creating some "books" for my classrooms. Instead of buying real books I have been having a blast making my own books, using cereal boxes and even a cupcake box! So far my favorite book that I have made was called "Tiolet" a spoof of twi****t(curse word in my family lol) it looks just like the cover except theres a red toilet instead of an apple :D

I'm also trying to infuse some games as well to work off all the food and sweets planned for the day. Some of the games include quidditch, a tri wizard tournament, swimming and charades(what? with my friends charades is exercise!) then we have Harry Potter Clue and a giant marauders map puzzle that apparently is almost impossible but it should be funto play the game or do the puzzle while watching our beloved HP movies from start to finish...

I think I might just take pictures of all my notes I have taken... there is so much I want to share! I know I have really enjoyed reading others party plans and I've had a blast coming up with ideas, even if I can't afford to make them all come true, so I hope you will enjoy reading mine aswell, and I hope some of these ideas will inspire you to celebrate the closing of a decade of our lives emoticon
