That sounds interesting!

I have a weekly booklet that I make that has my repeating to-do tasks on it by day. In addition to keeping track of what I need to do and what I get done each day, I have a set of boxes at the top of each page (one page a day) where I note the following:

1. How much sleep I got last night (just when I went to bed and when I got up, nothing fancy)
2. What time I took my medication (not taking any but antibiotics at the moment but it was important to track when I was taking Adderall for my ADHD because if I forgot I'd taken it I might take it again)
3. My morning weight
4. Total calories consumed (so I have to track to get that number, it doesn't always get filled in)
5. Total calories burned (again, I have to track to get that number)
6. How many glasses of water I drank (I hash it every time I finish one of my 2-cup glasses)
7. How many steps I took (I need to wear my pedometer for this)

And some other things that are related to my career.

If we wanted to start a team challenge to do the same four things you already do for your other team, I would be up for it; it looks like I already try to track all of those things anyway!

Peace & Blessings!

Last night I did a Zumba class with my friend then I came home and did Week 4 Day 2 of a walk/jog program. What does everyone else do for activity around here?

Hey! Maybe it's time to rejuvenate this team!! Need some motivation? a challenge? support? and just to know that someone else is out there (in Saskatchewan!!) and on the same path as you!!

I have been doing a daily weigh in and monthly challenge with another team that might interest some of you. All I do is make a copy of a calender, set it in front of the computer(since I spend too much time there anyway!) and I write my daily weight at the top. Then I also track:

W (water)- 8 cups a day or your weight(kg) in oz. So if you weigh 64kg, you drink 64oz/day.
F (food)- tracking food is great to keep you accountable for what is going "in"!!
W (workout)- 30 min/day of some kind of activity
S (steps) I have a fitbit and try to get at least 10 000/day.

Sitting at the computer, I can look at it...often...and say, Hmmm...I should have another glass of water, then do a Leslie Sansone DVD...

On my other team we get a star for each thing, so 4 stars per day. At the end of each week, we count up our stars...just for a little competition and accountability...

I know it sounds like a lot but who else is just sitting in front of the computer anyway... you can adjust it to what you want to track. It is also helping me to see patterns...

Is anyone interested? I will come back daily for a while and hope to attract a bit of chatter here!

-sparkfully,
Cherie

Feeling really tired. Had a Bells Palsy attack this week and just feeling sorry for myself today. Dealing with meds and self-consciousness of how I look. Just trying to keep going for my family.

Winter blues, depression call it what you want but I hate it. You would think after 6 years a person would be able to find a way to manage it. I will say that it took longer for it to grab it hold but man am I a grouch B. I don't even want to be around me so I can totally get why no one else wants to be around me. I will be trying so essential oils to help. Any thing at this point would be great

Yup, I feel it all the time. Some of it definitely is related to what I eat. I feel lethargic if I let my carbs creep out of control. Sometimes it's because I've not had a good sleep the night before, or just general hormonal things.

Sometimes we just need to give ourself a day off, as long as it's just one, and our eating doesn't go to pot at the same time :)

Does anyone else feel like their energy and motivation come and go in spurts. Yesterday I felt great and wanted to get things done, but I had to work so I made plans to get things done today on my day off. Now the day is half gone and I haven't accomplished much of anything! It's time to peel myself off of the computer and get moving. At least I was productive at work yesterday.

I also enjoyed the rider game(what I was able to catch while working), hopefully the next is as entertaining and we win of course. Been focused on keeping on track the last few weeks and finding my way through my new grain free lifestyle, going well so far, back down to my goal weight and a lot flatter of a stomach since cutting out bread. It is super cold today, but looking a bit better next week. Hoping to take the kids sliding soon as we haven't been out yet this year. emoticon

I enjoyed the rider game on the weekend...grey cup here we come! Wearing my big comfy sweatshirt to work, 2ndary bonus for sure! I'm back on track after a slippage this weekend, or rather just falling off plan and now back on.

I'm ok with the group being quiet, I know that I don't spend much time on the groups, I find I have so much time just tracking stuff that by the time i'm done that, my spark time is done!

Good to see a couple people posting though!

Happy Saturday!

So what are you all doing today in Saskatchewan? Resting, cleaning, yard work before the snow flies, going to the Rider game or just chilling with friends and family? I myself am doing some house work, a little workout by walking my dogs and of course, checking out the Rider game on TV.

I think the sask page is quiet because it is based on geography rather than common interests. People don't have much reason to keep checking in here, I am guilty of it too. When I am on sparkpeople which is on and off I spend more time on the At Goal and Maintaining team than anywhere else. I think we just need to accept the fact its not a super active team and make the best of it. The best way saskatchewanians relate to one another is the weather and the riders. LOL. I lack the time to log in and chat everyday now, I have a cold right now so I am being a bit lazy and thought I would catch up on some sparking. Rather than getting done the millions things on my to do list for my day off.

So Team Saskatchewan has been pretty quiet lately. This is sad, as we have a good number of members out there.

Tell me what we could do to get more people active on our page. Is there some type of post you would like to see, or any type of support that would be helpful to you?

I'm hoping a few people see this

I've been away from the team pages for too long. You know my weightloss/success usually is tied to how often I'm coming and getting support from the people of Spark. I think it does make a huge difference.

I'm very much back on track, after being lost for a bit so now I'm back getting some support too.

Hope you are all having an amazing day

Sorry for being away for over 60 days, from the group. I guess it just goes to show how time and things can slip away from us. I've been going through some emotional stuff, and with that slipped back into 'old' habits almost immediately.

Working on the mental stuff is much more difficult for me than the physical stuff (I didn't stop going to the gym etc) but the food is very much tide to the mental..

Anyways I'm back, I'd like to welcome those that maybe have just joined the group and encourage you all to touch base with how you are doing these days.

Well after being 'stuck' for what felt like a long time, the scale moved downwards. A big part of that was actually sticking to my plan, but it sure feels good. Small goals and one day at a time, I guess is the solution

How is everyone else making out ?

Happy Valentine's Day to you all. What does this day mean to you? I haven't really decided..is it just about spending money, or showing someone just a little bit extra special that you care? Shouldn't you do that everyday? I dunno, it's not much different than Christmas to me. :)

I'm sorry to hear that your daughter was ill! The flu's that are going around are quite nasty for sure.

I find being tired the biggest 'challenge' to proper eating. I tend to 'snack' for energy when I'm dealing with a lack of sleep. I have less will power at the same time. If you can sneak in a nap that is always a good thing!

Life is about balance, and I'm one of those people that is wavering unbalanced LOL I hope you have better luck than me :)

Was up all night with my sick daughter and now I'm tired, I decided to have leftover lasagna for breakfast because it was easy and I felt really hungry. Hopefully it doesn't derail my whole day nutritionally, maybe I'll have oatmeal for supper tonight to balance things out. lol I understand how you feel about not being in the mood for people. I read an article about introverts and extroverts, and how an introvert will actually find social interaction exausting and would much prefer staying home with a book, or close friends and family. I absolutely feel I'm an introvert, engaging with people just seems like lots of work to me, and after a big social situation I am shattered.

Thank goodness it's the weekend, or almost. Just have to get through today to get there. It's been a long one!

I have a stack of laundry a mile high it seems. I just did it a week ago, bah. It is never ending it seems.

Was supposed to have a party tonight but I think I'm going to cancel, just not really in the mood for people :(

I hope you all have a most excellent weekend

Well it's Wednesday, half way through the week anyways, work wise. Tonight I'm off to the gym, my 'injuries' or soreness seems to be at a controllable level. I overdid the strength training on the weekend. So today will be just aerobic and see if I can burn off some of my 'extra' calories I seem to be consuming this week

How is everyone else doing today?

Oh I'm glad to hear you got out of the cold and YAY closer to Regina. I hope the move is a positive one for you!

I'm currently searching for a sweet deal to get me out of the snow for a while. Not finding anything yet that appeals to my budget but I may just say screw it and spend a little extra! I need heat! That is something about losing 60% of your body fat..you are cold all the time lol

Welcome back! I've missed you!

Thanks for the congrats. I love this group, or rather having people close to where I am that can relate to some of the things only someone from Saskatchewan would be able to.

Things are good here, the weather is changing, hopefully on a new upward trend and spring is around the corner!

Well I'm on day 4 of back on track and it is going pretty well. It gets easier everyday, carb addiction is a terrible thing, but man once you get through the worst of it, it's gravy, no more fake hunger cravings! Just hunger when I'm hungry.

The sledding sounds great, I hope you had an awesome time! I wanted to go sledding over the holidays but no one would come with me!

Today is the day that I start holding myself responsible again. I let myself slide into a bad place and the 3 pound gain is what I have to show for it! I've bought all the necessary foods and cleaned out the house of the 'bad' things, while they are not really bad, I just have no self control around them! LOL

Back to being on track!

What's everyone's plan for this new year?

Okay, so this is today's post. We are planning on taking our nieces & nephews out sledding tomorrow, for most of the day. I am looking forward to it. I just hope that I have enough hot chocolate made to satisfy them all. :)
Running after them all should be enough of a workout for Sat. :)

Well it is the start of a brand new year! I slipped about midway or earlier in December and now I'm paying the price for that slip. Up a few pounds, some of it is water weight but there is probably a pound or two of regular weight as well.

It was eye opening how easy it is just to go back and let influences dictate how I eat. I'm back at the gym and doing a carb detox, so I'm hoping that things get back on track sooner rather than later.

How did you all fair through the holidays?

I don't usually decorate for Christmas until mid December. Actually for years I didn't decorate at all but I have started to again. I'm hosting the day this year so I may actually go out and get a few more decorations, to make it more festive.

I'm also doing most of my shopping online this year. I just find so many places give deals for shipping and such that it certainly brings the price of things down and also makes my life a lot less frantic and so I can enjoy other time instead of trying to deal with the crowds at the mall!

Hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday!

I love relaxing on the weekend. So great to take time in the morning just to get up slowly, drink coffee, think.
Yesterday I had to go to the mall to pick up some clothes for my son. He started a new job so needs to spruce up a bit. The mall was packed! I think I'll avoid it on weekends whenever I can. Early Christmas shoppers I think.
On the topic of Christmas, if you celebrate Christmas, when do you decorate. I've noticed some homes are decorated now. I think I'll wait a week or two. You?

Monday's oh how I hate you :) I really could have stayed in bed all day today. The winter hibernation mode seems to have grabbed hold of me and I've become super lazy and eating like a bear getting ready for the long sleep. Need to reboot myself and get back going!

That plan sounds interesting. My biggest thing is a plan has to be something I can do for life. it's hard to find something that works well for me.

it's very important to keep warm these days. I need a new winter jacket! :)

hope you are all having a happy monday

Today I think is going to be the start of a very productive week! The weekend was relaxing, got caught up on my yard work and stowed away the summer stuff in the basement.

Life is pretty good actually :)

Can you believe that wind out there? WOW.

Last night I was up in the middle of the night throwing up because something didn't agree with me. I hate when that happens. So today I'm dragging my backside. On the other hand though the scale was kind to me this morning, but sadly today is not an official weigh day so we will have to see if it continues until monday! LOL

Hope you are all staying dry in this wet day

The weather is amazing. Supposed to stay this way till at least the end of today.

I'm going to Yoga today, at lunch break so I'm going to see how that works for me. If I get overly sweaty it probably won't happen again, cause that's just yukky :)

I hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday

Today my thoughts are sort of after such a great weekend, why does something seem to happen to punch you in the stomach. That's my feelings today, now to try not to self medicate with food :) I am hoping I'm getting better at NOT doing that

How is everyone else doing in this wonderful weather day if nothing else

Yes the snow was a shocker! I was not pleased to see that. They are calling for double digits today so I'm happy about that.

I need to continue to get more winterwear!

The weekend is upon us and it's going to be a busy one. Seems I often have busy weekends LOL

We had a wonderful, relaxing Thanksgiving weekend. I wasn't feeling 100% so wasn't very hungry. We seem to have a bug in our house - even the dogs are sick. Hope we get rid of it soon!

Snow on the ground this morning. Wow, summer/fall sure went fast. There's a couple of things I like about snow. It makes everything look clean, and my youngest daughter gets really excited. It's hard not to catch some of her enthusiasm. Enjoy your day!

I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving! I had a very pleasant one filled with family and fun and even some food! I indulged but not too badly I don't think.

The winter coat search is always something I dislike but necessary! I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday on a short work week!

I love fall but it does seem too chilly already. I still have lots of insulation myself. Good luck with the winter coat search. I want to dig out the winter gear this weekend to see what we need. Pretty sure a new coat is on my list too. In the spring I bought new coats on sale for my daughters. Here's hoping they still fit. Happy Thanksgiving!

It is really really cold out there today! brrrr I am not looking forward to the cold. With my weightloss I have lost most of my extra insulation (though I still have some) so I need to find a heavy duty winter coat!

This morning in Regina it really feels like fall! I'm sitting in my office with my bunny hug and my winter weight cardigan on! The leaves are looking so pretty though. This is not my favorite season, I'm very much a summer girl. What is your favorite season?

It was a pretty good football game, I enjoyed the nail biting part at the end. It was really a beautiful day weather wise for it.

Snacks are always a tough one to deal with generally. I think having things like celery with peanut butter so you have the salty/sweet crunch is a nice one.

Enjoyed the Rider game today. It was a nail biter. My family usually has treats on game day. Not very healthy today. Do you have any favorite game day treats that are healthier than nachos and cheezies?

Hi Lori, I'm glad you are back. Fall is really beautiful and I would love to have a hot tub. I have noticed the stars and clouds in the late evening this week and they have been amazing.!!

Nature is truly amazing. I need to focus on the little things when my life has become a little too crazy, thanks for the reminder!

Hi, Gypsywolf. Sorry I haven't been on Sparks people site for a long time. I love paying attention to small things, like leaves changing colour. The last few nights I've been relaxing in the hot tub in our backyard, looking at the stars, and have seen snow geese flying overhead. During the day when I feel stress I try to put this picture back in my mind. Gorgeous! Hope you and other team members have a great day.

What are some of your goals? I have created a bucket list so to speak of goals that I would like to accomplish in the next year/two years. I find it helps keep me focused, especially with exercise etc.

My goal is for 2014 to do a complete Iron-man Triathlon. I've set up mini goals to get me there, I know it's going to be a long journey but having this goal gives me something to work for.

Of course I have weight loss goals, but I've tried to focus less on the actual numbers and more on the eating differently for 'ever' rather than just dieting and it seems to be working :)

Tell me what some of your goals are!

Sometimes we sacrifice things we need to do for ourselves to other 'duties' I think that women do this a lot more often than men do. I think we have to put ourselves as a priority even if that goes against everything we think we understand.

If we become healthier, fitter, etc, we will be a better person able to do more things for those around us..so there is a positive pay off to it if we need to justify it to ourselves

We put in new flooring this past weekend, which kept me busy. Plus I worked all weekend too. The house is finally back to normal now, but I only get to enjoy it for two more days when it will be overrun by my family coming for the Easter weekend. I am hoping the weather forcast changes for this weekend, because right now it says we will get snow, ugh! Looking forward to my four day weekend of no work! Been getting out and enjoying the warm weather with my girls the last couple of days. Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!
