I went for a back treatment this morning and found out that the fall probably did more damage than initially suspected. No wonder the pain and decreased mobility have been almost unbearable all week.

My stomach is still pretty upset too. The reflux has calmed down a bit, but my stomach is just very unhappy. I'll have to revert to very bland food again for a few days and see if that helps any.

Otherwise, all is good. I'm keeping my spirits up regardless of what is happening around me. The inner happiness I'm feeling is starting to show in my focus and organization, which were both taking a hit when my depression was in high gear. It's good to be able to focus again for longer periods of time.

Happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here!!

Way to go, Suzanne!! You had a great day!
I am home early today because the weather was dreadful and I wanted to get home before I couldn't.

I made almost 4900 steps yesterday so I surpassed my daily goal.

I had a bad night. My reflux has been acting up. I've been taking my meds for it for the last couple of days, but my chest and upper back hurt all night and I felt like I was breathing fire. It's still not completely settled down today, but it's better than it was last night. I have a massage treatment tomorrow, so I'm hoping that will help somewhat too.

My spirits are still up though. I am adamant that I won't let anything get me down this week. Being part of a Spark Team/Community again is really helping in that regard, so thank you.

Happy Hump Day (and also Budget Day).

Feeling a tad better today after my weekend fall, but my back, which is never happy, is just more unhappy because of it.

I spent the majority of my morning doing my triennial WHMIS training. I got 100%! Woohoo!!

But it's back to reality as I prepare for an audit and compliance meeting today and start to prepare for a board meeting next week. Doesn't that all sound like fun?! Haha!

I haven't gotten in my minimum 4600 for 2 days in a row now. I know the fall had an impact on my movement for a few days, but I am determined to push through the pain today and reach that 4600!

Hope you're all having a good Tuesday.

P.S. The salsa chicken was so good! I was so happy to find halved chicken breasts at Costco a while back and that's what I used. They don't take as long to cook and are a much better serving size for me.

Ouch!! Hope you're not feeling too bad today!
We love slowcooker salsa chicken in my house!!
I hear ya on the budget...hanging on!!

I am home today but have to work late Tues/Wed. Basketball is done for now so my daughter only has regional drama but she drives herself to and from for that.

I am anxiously waiting for the snow and mud to go away so I can get out for some walks!

Now is the time of year I look for pussywillows. They are my favorite! My drive to work includes a stretch of grid in a very boggy area. The willows are abundant and my first sign of spring!

I had an......interesting weekend.

I fell early Saturday morning while walking to the kitchen to give the pups their breakfast. (Side note: I keep a pee pad in the back hallway for Sully's use because he is house trained. Sophie sometimes uses it too.) It was still pretty dark in the house, but that's normal. Well, I guess Sophie had to pee during the night but missed the pee pad by a smidge. I have a vinyl floor runner under the pad and down that back hallway, and, when I stepped over the pee pad to get to the kitchen, my foot landed on the puddle of pee on the vinyl floor runner and down I went. I landed on my left elbow. Some skin came off, and now the elbow is bruised and swollen and very sore. My left knee is also very sore, as is the whole left side of my body, pretty much. I guess I'll be taking the long way around to the kitchen from now on.

My sister and I watched a few movies on the weekend -- A Fixer-Upper Mystery and two Gourmet Detective Mysteries. We tried to get the latest XXX:The Return of Zander Cage on the Android but it still had subtitles so will have to wait a bit longer. I think we might go see Beauty and the Beast next weekend. That was always my favourite Disney movie, together with Cinderella.

Yesterday I pulled out the crockpot and made salsa chicken, so I have my protein all ready for the week. Yay!

Hope you all have a good week. I'm dreading the release of the provincial budget on Wednesday, but what will be will be. C'est la vie.

Happy First Day of Spring!!! emoticon

Thanks Laurie!

So, being a bit OCD, I've made a chart with all the members' user names and where they're from (if they've identified). So far, Saskatoon is in the lead with 31. Regina is in second with 18.

I primarily did up the list to see who else was from Regina. Maybe once the weather gets nice, a bunch of us could meet up at the Leg and go for a walk around Wascana Park. Might be a nice way to meet new people and keep each other motivated...

Love the new do Suzanne!! Your weekend sounds like fun!

I spent my Saturday at basketball. They won so we go to Kenaston for regionals friday/saturday. My mom is in Outlook so I'll stay there and get a visit in with her. Sunday I did some books and housework and vegging!

These next two weeks are super busy. Normal guiding stuff, book fair, author visit, basketball, more books...

So looking forward to the warmer weather!!

Had a great weekend! Got a new haircut, from a new stylist, and I LOVE it! I feel so re-energized. I posted a photo of it on my Sparkpage.

I had a great time with M and my sister this weekend. We went to Starbucks and Chapters, and then did a bit of grocery shopping. We picked up pizza on the way home for supper. We watched a couple movies while M and I did some scrapbooking. (My sister doesn't scrap.) Sunday was just a lazy day. We watched another movie while eating brunch, and then I took M home. I spent the rest of the day just vegging because I needed some major "calm time" before the start of the work week, which is going to be very hectic.

I had a massage treatment first thing this morning, and so I'm pretty beat up now. My left shoulder and neck have been giving me extra grief lately, so she used the cups on me. Even after 45 minutes, the muscles would hardly give, so I'm using heat for the rest of the week and I go back again next week for another beating.

Have a good Monday everyone. Stay warm!

It's so nice to see the sun shining today!

I woke up with a headache today, which I think was primarily caused by my upper back pain. I go for a massage on Monday, which can't come soon enough. I worked quite late on Tuesday -- another Board meeting. I didn't get home until just before 11PM. That's a long day, and my brain doesn't turn off right away either, so I lay in bed until 12:30 with my head just buzzing. My back is always bad for a few days after Board meetings too; yesterday was particularly bad. But I kept up my walking and got in over 10,000 for the very first time. So proud of myself!

I have one of my Goddaughters ("M") coming to spend the weekend with me. She and her sister have to take turns; I tried having them both over at the same time once and it completely exhausted me. "M" is older by 5 years and has always been a very calming soul. "K", on the other hand, is a whirling dervish--like the energizer bunny. The puppies will be happy; they love whenever the girls come over.

Cherie, I, too, am not a morning person. Although these days, I don't seem to be a night owl either. I just want to sleep ALL the time. :)

Enjoy the sunshine everyone!

I was supposed to work on Friday but another nurse needed to trade so she worked my Friday then I worked her Saturday. Then she asked if she could also trade my Monday for her Sunday...so I ended up working the weekend!! lol

My husband came home on Sunday night and Monday morning his phone went off and I wasn't expecting that loud ring and I jumped up and instantly had a bad dizzy spell! Oh I was so worried that I wouldn't make it stop! but I did! I sat on the edge of the bed and concentrated really hard on a focal point (kinda like what a figure skater would do) and it took about 2 min. I was quite nauseous after and it took a while to feel "better" but I was so grateful that it was short-lived!!! Phew!

Now it is blowing like crazy and snowing a bit...I do work today...I like the fact that I only live 2 blocks from work...I sure wouldn't want to be traveling from out of the city to come to work!! and I also like working evenings...I'm really not a good morning person!! Well, winter is not over but this too shall pass!!

Hi! My weekend wasn't all taht productive either..fun, just not productive!!
Today was good...there were no kids at school so I got quite a bit done. The weather in the nw is snowy and blowy but not as bad as the east.
This week I am focusing on steps, logging, and water (got 4/6 in so far!)

Hi everyone! Welcome back to winter! :(

I had a good weekend. I went to the Casino Show Lounge on Friday night to see the Globe Theatre's production of "Playing With Fire: The Theo Fleury Story". It was really good. I slept in on Saturday so the day was pretty much a wash. My family took me out for my birthday supper on Saturday night, which was really nice. Sunday was spent doing laundry and washing the floor.

My back has been feeling not too bad but my energy levels have been pretty low. Of course, work has been extremely busy so I'm usually exhausted by the time I get home every night. I'm focused on having a good week food-wise. I didn't get in my steps on Saturday or Sunday, and it's pretty low today too because I worked through my lunch hour, so I'll try to get on the treadmill tonight for a bit.

Have a good, albeit snowy, Monday!

Hi All...seems winter is back!!

Suzanne--your birthday and concert sounds great! I have one sibling, a sister 8 years younger, but we are best friends. I do have a friend from high school that I am still in touch with on fb but busy lives mean we don't see much of each other in person.

Cherie--3 boys would be busy!! I have 4 kids 17 years apart. I had my first daughter with my first husband and then a decade later had 3 kids with my second husband. Now my grandkids will be spread out too..so far they range in age from 12-1 and that's only 2 of my kids having kids..I still am waiting (but not impatiently) on my 21 yr old son and 17 yr old daughter!

I have not lost any yet in March but have not gained either so I guess that's a sort of a win! I am keeping my goals in the front of my mind and my life so, hopefully, I'll see some results in a few weeks!

Wow! Sounds like a wonderful time! Sisters are forever friends!

I have one sister and although we live a province apart and she is 17 yrs older than me, kinda more of a mother figure to me, we are very close! My mom and dad had 6 kids, and it took them 19 yrs to do it! lol ya, I wasn't gonna do that! So I had my first 2 boys 1 1/2 yrs apart but my first husband died in a farming accident when my 2nd boy was 6 mos and I thought I was done having kids but I remarried and had 1 more boy just after my 30th birthday but I said, that's enough! lol oh goodness, I'm rambling!

The scale was not my friend this week either...but I will also hit my March goals! Happy Friday!

Hi all. Sorry I didn't log in yesterday. It was just one of those days. I put in 90 minutes of OT yesterday and was just exhausted and also a bit grouchy by the end of the day.

I went to a concert with my sister for my birthday. We saw Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt. It was amazing! Over 2.5 hours of non-stop excellent music and witty banter. It was a great birthday! Plus, being with my sister is always a good thing. We're the best of friends. We spend most of our weekends together.

My BFF Carla came over last night for a visit. She just got back from a hot holiday, so we hadn't seen each for about 2 weeks. It was awesome to just sit and visit and laugh and catch up. I'm very blessed. She's been my best friend since I was 14 (so 32 years). Actually, I have a couple of long-time friends with whom I'm still very close. Do any of you have long-time friends that just seem to get you?

Even though I behaved myself all week, the scale was not in my favour this morning. But I'm not discouraged. I will reach my March goals! (I'll post my results on the March Challenge page.)

Have a good weekend everyone!!!

Thanks Cherie! It's today!
Wow, another year gone, but another one ahead of me with so much potential. I take each day at a time, because I know none of us are guaranteed a tomorrow. I've lost so many people in my life, so many family members and dear friends, some far too young. It makes me cherish every day, regardless of whether it's a good or bad one. Life is too precious to waste it, so I will continue to live each day to the fullest, and be thankful for my family and friends (and SparkFriends) who enrich my life beyond measure.

Hi! Well, I worked a night shift on Friday. Of course, silly me, didn't sleep before I went. I got about 3 1/2 hours on Saturday... I've been pretty wiped for the rest of the weekend. Now tomorrow I go back to my regular evening shifts. Hope everyone has a great week!

Suzanne, for whichever day it is...Happy Birthday! :)

Ruth, congrats on being a cancer survivor! My best friend is a lung cancer survivor, and I know the fight that has to go into that. It takes a lot of physical and emotional strength for that fight, and you definitely have it.
I read your Spark page Ruth, and I too suffer from depression and anxiety. I have for the majority of my adult life. Know that there is always hope. And know that I am here for you.
I'm going to do some cleaning and laundry today, before it's back to work tomorrow.
Ttyl!

emoticon It's Friday!!

I've heard from a few other Team SK members, and here's hoping there are more out there ready to come back. I haven't felt this motivated in a long time and am so thankful I came back to Team SK.
emoticon

Have a great weekend everyone! I'm without internet at home at the moment, but I'm hoping it'll be back up and running by later this evening. So, if all goes as planned, I'll be able to post this weekend without having to do so on my phone.

P.S. Have you heard about the giraffe ready to give birth at the Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, NY? I've been watching the live feed on Youtube. I'm so hoping to actually see the birth. That would be awesome!!

Me again.
I just wanted to give you all a heads up. I had been working on an email message for the last few days and finally sent it out (in 4 batches) to all team members with active pages. The team's main page says we have 477 members, but, after counting, there are only 442, and 93 of them no longer have active pages. Of those 349 remaining members, 23 of them "do not accept SparkMail".
And...I've already heard back from some! Yay!
I'm excited to see how active we can get this team.
But I also want to thank those of you who are already here, motivating me since I've "returned" to the team. You're all AWESOME!!!
Have a great Thursday evening! Tomorrow is Friday!!!

Hi!
I woke up at 4am with a headache and couldn't get back to sleep. The headache has dissipated a bit, but they were tarring the roof at work this morning, and that smell brought it back. I decided to come to work early as I was up anyway, so I'll be able to leave a bit earlier today too, which will be nice.
I hope you're all having a good Thursday. Is anyone going to watch the new Blacklist Redemption series starting tonight?

I did! My daughter and son-in-law came to visit. In a few days we will go to see my oldest daughter and her family. My only son is living with her while he is in school for one more week so we'll see him too!! Only thing missing is hubby who is working in northern Alberta. He should be home next Monday though!

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday!

Laurie, I work for the PreK-12 public school system in my city. It's a very rewarding job, but I worry about what is coming down from the provincial gov't.

My sister and I spent a couple hours at Chapters today. We love to go there, even if it's only to browse. I love books! I ended up buying two today. We might watch a movie or two tonight.

Hope you're all having a good weekend!

Happy Saturday!

Suzanne, hope you enjoy your extra day off and get rested up! What type of office do you work in?

I am a library tech at a k-12 school so I do have all next week off! I am excited! My daughter surprised me yesterday and they are here for the weekend with my 1 yr old granddaughter. The baby is going to spend the week with me. Mid-week, she, my youngest daughter, and I are going to Saskatoon to stay with my oldest daughter and the rest of the grandkids.

I don't know how rested I'll feel when I have to go back to work but I will have had fun!!

Very foggy here today.

Laurie

I didn't post yesterday. My work day was extra busy, and my evening was spent vegging on the sofa. I've been extra tired this week, and I'm not sure why. I know I'm always tired for a few days after a Board meeting, but this seems double the usual tiredness. I'm looking forward to lots of sleep this Family Day long weekend.
With the Family Day Week Break next week, it should be nice and quiet in the office, which helps with productivity. (Wish I could have taken the week off though.) My focus for the next week is to log my food and water intake every day. It's been a long time since I have done that consistently, so we'll see how it goes.
Happy Family Day to everyone!

Hi. I'm just taking a quick lunch break so thought I'd check in. I'm quite tired today even though I got home earlier than anticipated (9:30pm). Board meeting days allow me to get in more steps than usual though -- I'm pretty pumped that I almost reached 7,000 -- but my back always pays for it in the few days following. I'm tired and looking forward to a quiet night at home.

Keep staying healthy Cherie!

P.S. I really like to craft. I knit constantly, but I really have to get back to my scrapbooking. I promised a friend I would do up a book for her daughter and it has to be done by September. There are about 50-60 pages in total to do and I've only done around 6. Yikes! Do any of you scrapbook?
Here are two of my earlier pages -- but definitely favourites!

I just got home from work a little while ago. The outbreak is still on and I am still healthy! Yay me!

Suzanne, you are very talented! I don't have a crafty bone in my body! lol I hope you all had a nice Valentine's Day. It is not one of my favorite days...I don't really know why...my husband works out of town but it's never really been a good time for us...overrated maybe, but this year it just wasn't a big deal. I can home from work and I'm sharing some popcorn with my shih-tsu Shelby! :)

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a good week thus far. I am, thankfully, almost over this virus (I hope). I'm feeling much better.

Work has ramped up again, and I'll be working late tonight, as there is a board meeting. (I'd rather spend Valentine's Day with my pups, but, alas, my work responsibilities take priority.)

I did get a bit crafty for this February 14th, and made a couple of cute Valentine's Day boxes (filled with Hershey's Kisses). I gave one to my boss and one to a very close colleague and friend.

I hope you all have a great day and a great week. I'll try to pop in every day to say hi. I would love to have this team get really active, and if there's anything I can do to make that happen, please let me know. I used to post monthly challenges in my old team, and would be more than happy to do that here.

P.S. Thanks for accepting me as a Fitbit friend Cherie!

Hi Suzanne! It is cold here in Saskatoon too! I work at a nursing home that is currently in a respiratory outbreak. I have had the flu shot and so far I have avoided being infected. I also have a history of vertigo and I sure can understand what you are going through! I have been told that it is not uncommon to get a bout of vertigo after having a virus. I do believe you are now a fitbit buddy? I hope you feel better soon!

Another cold day, but the sun is shining brightly.

I've been fighting a virus for a little over a week now and it's been throwing me curve balls the entire time. I really thought I was getting over it, and then I had an episode of vertigo this morning and, subsequently, a very upset stomach. I'm fine now, but it was not a good way to start the day. The meds I take for pain do give me brain fog when I first take them, but this was not the regular "fog." It has to be the virus. It doesn't help that pretty much half the people I work with are fighting off something too. That's definitely one thing I don't like about winter!

On the bright side, it's Hump Day, so one day closer to the weekend. As one of my ring tones reminds me... "Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, what day is it Mike?"

Happy Hump Day everyone!

It's another cold day here in Regina (-24C but feels like -34C), but the sun is finally shining. I saw the most beautiful sundog today on my ride into work. And there's a chance we'll be up to +1 by this Sunday. It's going to be a good day and a good week.

I made a small batch of chocolate chip cookies last night, which I haven't done in forever. I have removed all the junk food from the house, so this allowed me to have a couple cookies for a treat last night. And I actually limited myself too! Before, I would have eaten the entire batch in one sitting. Small steps...

How is everyone else doing?

Hi Cherie, Cassi and Janna!
I'm not new to Team SK, but I have never been active with it before now. My "active" team has all but shut down, so I'm looking for a new team to get and keep me motivated and inspired, and I'm hoping it's this team.

To state the obvious, my name is Suzanne. LOL! I've been a member of Spark since 2009. I suffer from degenerative disc disease in my low back and also have fibromyalsia, so any vigorous activity/exercise is out for me, but I do walk as much as my pain will allow, and I'm going to start swimming again soon.

I live in Regina and work in the PreK-12 public education sector--on the business side. I have two adorable and spoiled dachshunds--Sullivan (smooth), who is 5yo, and Sophie (long-haired), who is ~6yo. Prior to them were my first loves, Steve (smooth), who passed away Nov/15 at 9yo, and Sam (smooth), who passed away Aug/11 at 4yo. I got all three of my boys from breeders when they were pups, but Sophie is my first rescue, my first female, and my first long-haired. (That is why we've "guessed" at her age.) I love to knit, crochet, scrapbook!, read, and draw/paint.

I hope it's okay that I just "bounded" into the group. I'd really like to get to know you all and really make a lasting change this year.

I am reading the book, "The Petite Advantage Diet". I am 4'11" so every single calorie counts but I have been eating poorly so even though I've been active, I have been gaining weight since last fall... I don't think it is my thyroid, I think I just need to smarten up!

Cassi, how are you feeling?

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. I totally understand the forgetting to eat thing! I work evenings so my routine is a little shifted to most people. I tend to get up around 10am, drink coffee (and I should eat breakfast right away) but sometimes my coffee time runs into "lunch time" so then I just eat lunch instead. Then when I get to work at 2:30, I realize I'm hungry! then I get supper break around 5:30-6:00 and by the time I get home between 11:00-12:00 I'm starving and snack out on total junk like chips, crackers, whatever I can get! ugh... but thanks for the idea. Maybe i could have some healthy snacks for before and after work!

I'm here! I've just been super sick. My problem is trying to get myself to eat. Like remembering. Silly right..who forgets to eat.
I bought these cute little containers at Walmart that have a long cup where you can put things like carrots or fruit and the it has a screw on lid that you can put dip or yoghurt in. I keep those full and stocked now in the fridge to help remind me to eat but also to eat healthy

Yes, I believe that winter in general can affect our motivation. I think the shorter days and the cold temps pull us down. I think working out helps me to cope! In fact, on days I work, I need to work out to help me deal with the busy shifts. I try my hardest to not let myself be done my day until my step goal is done. Now, you should now that I always work evenings so I've become a night owl. I am always up until 1-2am every night...but don't try dragging me out of bed until at least 9am! Now that all my kids are out of school, it's ok. When they were in school I would lose sleep through the week and try to catch up on weekends and holidays. Now my regular sleep cycle is from 2-10 or close to it. I also think sleep is very important in having motivation to work out. Having support is also important. Do you like to do challenges, Cassi?

I work at the hospital in the town where I live. I work in the business office doing Accounts payable and receivables, but I also work in the activity department in the long term care facility that is attached to the hospital. I only work casually in the activity but it's awesome because I always go over my step goal. I find it hard when I just work in the business office because it depends on the day if hit my goal. I am finding it very hard to find motivation to work out or even eat healthy and I'm not sure why. Does the weather affect anyone else's motivation?

TGIF! Hope you have a great weekend! I work tomorrow but can't complain...I need some hours! I traded some shifts away, now this week was almost a little too light! I am a nurse at a nursing home. I have a part time position, all 8 hr evening shifts then I usually pick up extra but since Christmas, everyone is trying to pick up extra to pay off Christmas debt.

Hi Cassi! I've already invited you to be a fitbit friend! Great to see some activity here! I've actually started to track my food again and it makes a difference!! It makes me think about whether something is worth taking the time to track cuz everything that I put in my mouth must be accounted for. I have a wedding to go to in July so I have a goal!! Yay!

Hi everyone!!!

I'm from the small town of Gravelbourg down South from you guys!!

I'm glad to see people have returned to the group, because I need some serious motivation.

I have the Fitbit Alta and I love it. I wasn't a big fan of things on my wrists but with the Alta you can change the straps.

If any of you want to add me as a friend on Fitbit for challenges etc, let me know emoticon

I have to say I really enjoyed my One, but I was really interested in getting one with the HR. I don't really like wearing anything on my wrist either. I'm a nurse and at work I usually use a lapel watch but I guess I will try this out and see how it goes. When you have one, let me know and we can be fitbit buddies! :)

That does help, thank you! I had the other one... the Flex. It only had a wristband.

Hm. I will have a look at our finances and see if I can maybe get a One!

Happy New Year! It's great to see you here! My hometown was Marcelin/Blaine Lake. I've lived here in Saskatoon for 12 years now.

I had a fitbit One until I got a Charge HR for Christmas. The One is has a clip and I used to clip it onto my bra everymorning and I could forget about it all day then put it in a soft wristband at night to track my sleep. The One is not new but I hope that helps you.

Happy New Year!

I'm half an hour outside Saskatoon, we have 40 acres near Langham. I've been away but hoping to get back to SparkPeople this year.

I am seriously considering getting a new Fitbit. I tried it for a week a while ago but returned it. I'd really like one I don't have to wear on my wrist, but my phone doesn't have good enough Bluetooth for a Mistfit (which you can wear as a necklace or a pin OR on your wrist). Does anyone know if there are other options for Fitbits now? (I'm good with wearing it on my wrist sometimes but not all the time, I have a lot of things I need to do and I don't wear anything on my wrists in general as I find they get in the way.)

Peace & Blessings!

Let's try to revive this team! Happy New Year! Let's get moving! Where is everyone and who is still around?

I have upgraded my fitbit One to Charge HR so I'm motivated to keep moving and get my HR into the Zone!!

I hope to see a few of you back here...weekly if not daily! Good luck and keep stepping!!

That sounds interesting!

I have a weekly booklet that I make that has my repeating to-do tasks on it by day. In addition to keeping track of what I need to do and what I get done each day, I have a set of boxes at the top of each page (one page a day) where I note the following:

1. How much sleep I got last night (just when I went to bed and when I got up, nothing fancy)
2. What time I took my medication (not taking any but antibiotics at the moment but it was important to track when I was taking Adderall for my ADHD because if I forgot I'd taken it I might take it again)
3. My morning weight
4. Total calories consumed (so I have to track to get that number, it doesn't always get filled in)
5. Total calories burned (again, I have to track to get that number)
6. How many glasses of water I drank (I hash it every time I finish one of my 2-cup glasses)
7. How many steps I took (I need to wear my pedometer for this)

And some other things that are related to my career.

If we wanted to start a team challenge to do the same four things you already do for your other team, I would be up for it; it looks like I already try to track all of those things anyway!

Peace & Blessings!

Hey! Maybe it's time to rejuvenate this team!! Need some motivation? a challenge? support? and just to know that someone else is out there (in Saskatchewan!!) and on the same path as you!!

I have been doing a daily weigh in and monthly challenge with another team that might interest some of you. All I do is make a copy of a calender, set it in front of the computer(since I spend too much time there anyway!) and I write my daily weight at the top. Then I also track:

W (water)- 8 cups a day or your weight(kg) in oz. So if you weigh 64kg, you drink 64oz/day.
F (food)- tracking food is great to keep you accountable for what is going "in"!!
W (workout)- 30 min/day of some kind of activity
S (steps) I have a fitbit and try to get at least 10 000/day.

Sitting at the computer, I can look at it...often...and say, Hmmm...I should have another glass of water, then do a Leslie Sansone DVD...

On my other team we get a star for each thing, so 4 stars per day. At the end of each week, we count up our stars...just for a little competition and accountability...

I know it sounds like a lot but who else is just sitting in front of the computer anyway... you can adjust it to what you want to track. It is also helping me to see patterns...

Is anyone interested? I will come back daily for a while and hope to attract a bit of chatter here!

-sparkfully,
Cherie

Winter blues, depression call it what you want but I hate it. You would think after 6 years a person would be able to find a way to manage it. I will say that it took longer for it to grab it hold but man am I a grouch B. I don't even want to be around me so I can totally get why no one else wants to be around me. I will be trying so essential oils to help. Any thing at this point would be great

Yup, I feel it all the time. Some of it definitely is related to what I eat. I feel lethargic if I let my carbs creep out of control. Sometimes it's because I've not had a good sleep the night before, or just general hormonal things.

Sometimes we just need to give ourself a day off, as long as it's just one, and our eating doesn't go to pot at the same time :)

Does anyone else feel like their energy and motivation come and go in spurts. Yesterday I felt great and wanted to get things done, but I had to work so I made plans to get things done today on my day off. Now the day is half gone and I haven't accomplished much of anything! It's time to peel myself off of the computer and get moving. At least I was productive at work yesterday.

I also enjoyed the rider game(what I was able to catch while working), hopefully the next is as entertaining and we win of course. Been focused on keeping on track the last few weeks and finding my way through my new grain free lifestyle, going well so far, back down to my goal weight and a lot flatter of a stomach since cutting out bread. It is super cold today, but looking a bit better next week. Hoping to take the kids sliding soon as we haven't been out yet this year. emoticon

I enjoyed the rider game on the weekend...grey cup here we come! Wearing my big comfy sweatshirt to work, 2ndary bonus for sure! I'm back on track after a slippage this weekend, or rather just falling off plan and now back on.

I'm ok with the group being quiet, I know that I don't spend much time on the groups, I find I have so much time just tracking stuff that by the time i'm done that, my spark time is done!

Good to see a couple people posting though!

Happy Saturday!

So what are you all doing today in Saskatchewan? Resting, cleaning, yard work before the snow flies, going to the Rider game or just chilling with friends and family? I myself am doing some house work, a little workout by walking my dogs and of course, checking out the Rider game on TV.

I think the sask page is quiet because it is based on geography rather than common interests. People don't have much reason to keep checking in here, I am guilty of it too. When I am on sparkpeople which is on and off I spend more time on the At Goal and Maintaining team than anywhere else. I think we just need to accept the fact its not a super active team and make the best of it. The best way saskatchewanians relate to one another is the weather and the riders. LOL. I lack the time to log in and chat everyday now, I have a cold right now so I am being a bit lazy and thought I would catch up on some sparking. Rather than getting done the millions things on my to do list for my day off.

So Team Saskatchewan has been pretty quiet lately. This is sad, as we have a good number of members out there.

Tell me what we could do to get more people active on our page. Is there some type of post you would like to see, or any type of support that would be helpful to you?

I'm hoping a few people see this

I've been away from the team pages for too long. You know my weightloss/success usually is tied to how often I'm coming and getting support from the people of Spark. I think it does make a huge difference.

I'm very much back on track, after being lost for a bit so now I'm back getting some support too.

Hope you are all having an amazing day

Sorry for being away for over 60 days, from the group. I guess it just goes to show how time and things can slip away from us. I've been going through some emotional stuff, and with that slipped back into 'old' habits almost immediately.

Working on the mental stuff is much more difficult for me than the physical stuff (I didn't stop going to the gym etc) but the food is very much tide to the mental..

Anyways I'm back, I'd like to welcome those that maybe have just joined the group and encourage you all to touch base with how you are doing these days.

Well after being 'stuck' for what felt like a long time, the scale moved downwards. A big part of that was actually sticking to my plan, but it sure feels good. Small goals and one day at a time, I guess is the solution

How is everyone else making out ?

Happy Valentine's Day to you all. What does this day mean to you? I haven't really decided..is it just about spending money, or showing someone just a little bit extra special that you care? Shouldn't you do that everyday? I dunno, it's not much different than Christmas to me. :)

Well it's Wednesday, halfway through the week towards a long weekend YAY. I hope you all are sticking to your healthy lifestyle and getting out and enjoying these decent temperatures. I can almost feel spring in the air (Maybe wishful thinking today)

I'm sorry to hear that your daughter was ill! The flu's that are going around are quite nasty for sure.

I find being tired the biggest 'challenge' to proper eating. I tend to 'snack' for energy when I'm dealing with a lack of sleep. I have less will power at the same time. If you can sneak in a nap that is always a good thing!

Life is about balance, and I'm one of those people that is wavering unbalanced LOL I hope you have better luck than me :)

Was up all night with my sick daughter and now I'm tired, I decided to have leftover lasagna for breakfast because it was easy and I felt really hungry. Hopefully it doesn't derail my whole day nutritionally, maybe I'll have oatmeal for supper tonight to balance things out. lol I understand how you feel about not being in the mood for people. I read an article about introverts and extroverts, and how an introvert will actually find social interaction exausting and would much prefer staying home with a book, or close friends and family. I absolutely feel I'm an introvert, engaging with people just seems like lots of work to me, and after a big social situation I am shattered.
