Good morning all...worked the night shift so a little tired this morning...last day of Spring ..planned to get up early and go for a long walk...guess it will be a house cleaning day.
Sounds like everyone is doing great...I'm planning on upping my exercise ...the scale hasn't moved but I am tighter then I have been in the past...I really I could cut sugar out of my diet better...but I feel good and I look healthy...and to me it the most important to me especially after all the cancer treatments I went through last year...glad to hear things are looking up for you Suzanne...am feeling very optimistic too...I see great times ahead...hope Summer will be great to all of us...hugs emoticon

As I was getting ready for work this morning, I was thinking about how I've been handling stress really well these last couple months. I had a really bad run with my depression recently (the longest run I've had in a long time; Oct-Mar), and now that I'm in a good place mentally, I've been dealing well with stress. I'm not getting overly upset or angry or crying. I'm not letting the stress run through my brain over and over and over. I've been really proud of myself for that. But then the reality hit me -- I'm still letting the stress dictate my eating habits. So I'm not totally letting go of the stress. Instead of getting angry or "stewing" about it all the time, I'm indulging in unhealthy foods instead. It was an "ah-ha" moment, I guess. I'll now have to focus on that aspect and see what I can do to conquer it.
Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Back to work today, and, although I'm very tired, I'm feeling energized. I'm proud of my success so far. It hasn't been easy. Two of the medications I'm on cause weigh gain, so losing is a struggle, but I'm doing it! Thanks for keeping me accountable!

That will be interesting having them with you, but also a great time to bond more with your grandbaby. I wish you well in that. I also wish you a good June. Just one more month before the summer break. Yay! I am a 12-month employee but will be taking time off in both July and August. Here's to the countdown... ;)

May was good..and yes, June will be crazy!!

I don't know if I've said. One of my daughers, her husband, and my granddaughter are moving into our place. They live in Melfort and are coming here looking for better jobs. I'm excited but also a little nervous. It will be great to spend time with my 1 1/2 yr old grandbaby though!!

I hope everyone had a good May. I ended the month feeling pretty decent about my weight and inches lost. June is going to be busy as we finish off the school year, but I am committed to continuing this healthier journey.

I'll be posting a June challenge shortly.

Doctor says it's inflammation of the inner ear. I'm on a prescription used for dizziness associated with Meniere's disease. I hope it's just inflammation that will go away and that I don't have Meniere's. I've taken two doses so far and am slightly less dizzy than I have been. Hopefully a good massage early next week will help too.

Happy Weekend everyone!

Sounds like you had a good long weekend Laurie.

Mine was very low-key. I did a lot of sorting and pricing for the upcoming scrapbooking garage sale. My back continues to give me grief so yard work was out of the question (other than watering). I did go to Chapters though on Saturday and bought 3 books.

I'm currently trying to get in to see my doctor (hopefully this week) because I've been having some serious dizziness issues. I've been dealing with some fog/dizziness for the majority of 2017 and had put it off to getting new progressive lens glasses. But this weekend was particularly bad. The room even spins when I close my eyes, and my head just feels like it's in a constant state of fogginess. I'm hoping it's not an inner ear or an eye thing, but it's better if I get it checked out.

Have a good week everyone!

What's everyone doing for the long weekend?
My daughter, son in law, and 1 yr old granddaughter came to visit. As well, it is grad in our small town this weekend so my youngest daughter was busy with that.
Hubby has been up north working for several days and is due home in an hour or two. Likely yard work tomorrow.

This week will be better Suzanne!!

I had a busy day. My girl guides worked a trade show on Saturday and then I watched my oldest granddaughter's dance recital on Sunday. Pretty tired today at work but determined to get to bed early.

I'm hoping for a much more positive week. Last week was another sign that life is precious and events or illness can derail us at any time, so we have to make the most of every day and take care of ourselves the best we can.

My back is still causing a lot of pain for me, but I'm up, I'm moving, I packed a healthy lunch for myself and, if the weather continues to cooperate, I plan on taking the pups for their daily after-work walk around the crescent.

It has been a difficult week. With the bad news that came on Tuesday, to everything that came after, and then yesterday being the 2-year anniversary of the death of a very dear friend who left us too soon...

I tried not to emo-eat, but failed miserably. I gained 2 pounds this week. I know exactly what I did to cause that gain, and so this next week I have to take control again and do what I need to do to be successful.

I hope you enjoy your fitbit Laurie. I have been wearing my during the day, but have been taking it off in the evenings because of an article I recently read: https://experiencelife.com/article/e

May has been not bad so far. I finally caved to the pressure and bought a fitbit. Getting used to that and hoping it will spur me on to movement!!

The last few days have been difficult ones. Our family received some very bad news on Tuesday. I'm trying my best not to "emo-eat" but I haven't always been successful.

My BFF took me out last night to a Thirty-One Gifts party. I purchased some items that I think will come in handy with my scrapbooking.

It's Thursday and I'm looking forward to the weekend. I've always maintained that we should be working 2 days a week and getting 5 off. Wouldn't that be nice...

Hope everyone is having a good May so far.

Hi all!

Sorry I haven't posted the last few days. I had a board meeting on Tuesday night and didn't get home until 10:30PM, and I've been out of sorts since then. My back has been giving me spasms the last number of days so I've had to cut down my steps to get it back in check; and I woke up with a sore throat today. My mouth is still not healed from the tooth being pulled but the bone has calmed down--now I just have to wait for the gum to heal over it.

I'm feeling a bit stressed because of work, but I'm hoping a nice quiet weekend will help get me back in the game.

Happy Thursday!

That's awesome Ruth! You're right -- every little bit helps.

I had a decent weekend. My sister stayed over, which is always so nice. We watched a few movies and I finished another scrapbook page. I had to take my Sully to the vet this morning because his one tooth was giving him a hard time. It seems a bit better now, but the gum is receding and he needs another dental exam and cleaning soon. Sophie needs a dental too. Those 2 are going to break my bank account over the next little while...

Happy May to you all. I'm so pumped for this month's challenge!

Laurie, it really was a fabulous time away. I love to scrapbook, but I never seem to have enough to do it regularly. I was commissioned by a friend to do a rather large book for her daughter, who is getting married this Fall. It's a new experience for me because I'm not used to scrapping pages of children. Most of my pages are of my dogs. The retreat has me more focused again, so I'm going to set up my scrapping table in the living room and start to get more pages done in the next little while.

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been absent. I was at a crop this past weekend in Moose Jaw and there was no WiFi in the facility. We did have WiFi at the hotel, but by the time we would get there every night, I was just ready to go to bed.

I had a fabulous time scrapping. There were 7 of us in our group. We each got an 8' table -- it was awesome! (But it did limit the amount of visiting we could do.) It was the largest crop I've ever attended; it was set up for 75 people. We went up a day earlier to go to the spa, which was really relaxing.

My mouth was healing quite well where I had the wisdom tooth pulled on the Monday, but I got what was like a sore on the inside of the gum that eventually hurt almost as bad as the toothache. I went back to the dentist today and it's bone that is upset with the "trauma" around it and is protruding and pushed through the gum. I guess it happens, just not often. There's no way to fix it. I just have to give the bone time to calm down and the gum to heal over it. If it's not better within the next week, then I'll have to go to a specialist. So it's still soft and/or liquid food for me for the next week.

It's back to work for me tomorrow. I'm going to relax for the rest of the evening. Ttyl.

Thankfully I got in to see the dentist at 8:45 this morning. Diagnosis=cracked tooth. Only option was to pull it. I was grateful that it came out rather easily. I'm on a soft-food/liquid diet for a few days as it starts to heal and I do everything to avoid dry socket. I should be "good to go" by Thursday for my scrapbooking weekend.

Happy Easter everyone!
I've been suffering with a horrible toothache since Thursday night; not much sleep and can't really eat or drink much because it hurts a lot. I'm hoping to get in to the dentist tomorrow; actually, I won't take no for an answer.
I have Monday off, so hopefully I'll start feeling better after seeing the dentist. I'm going away on Thursday and have to be feeling better.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend! We had a huge snowstorm yesterday and now all the highways around are travel not recommended. More mud...yahoo! Thankfully my son and his girlfriend got here before it got too bad.

I don't get next week off as I'm a 12-month employee. But I get Friday and Monday off and then I booked Thursday and Friday next week off, so that will be nice.

I'm extremely tired today and feel like I'm coming down with a cold. I've awoken to a sore throat two days in a row, and this morning it was accompanied by a nice ol' headache. Of course, it didn't help that I got home from the Board meeting last night at 11PM. That was one LONG day!

I'm doing okay with my calories this week. I did break down and have some M&Ms the other night, and instantly regretted it because my stomach got upset. That's not a bad thing. If it prevents me from wanting to indulge in unhealthy snacks, it's all good.

Have a good Hump Day!

It was delish!! I love home made won ton soup! I also made a pork and pineapple fried rice that I had never made. It was quite good. I didn't like the beef and broccoli recipe I used, it was more a satay, but it was alright. Then I made a lo mein noodle dish for my daughter. Best part...leftovers!

Looking forward to a short week and then a week off! Do you get next week off too?

It was an older one (from 1995) called The Awakening. It was a Harlequin one. Very cheesy...

Congrats to your daughter!

How was the Chinese food?

I spent yesterday with my BFF, Carla (CAITKEN). We had a brunch with ladies from our 40-somethings Ladies Group from church. (Carla hosted.) She and I then went for pedicures. We did a few hours of shopping after that. It was so nice to spend the day with her.

Last night I worked on my music database and watched another DVD, which I can now add to the "sell" pile.

Today is a "stay at home" day. I was going to get some groceries, but I don't need a lot, so I'll maybe pick some up tomorrow. My stomach is a little upset today, so it's better that I stay home.

Wishing you all a good, productive and healthy week ahead...

Hey Suzanne,

So glad to hear your job is safe!

My daughter is competing in drama fest this weekend. Awards are going on right now!
My sister came to watch. She has gone home now so we are just hanging out.

I decided tomorrow is home made chinese food day! I am making won ton soup, beef and broccoli, low mein, and fried rice. Delish!

Had supper with my sister and son last night. He just got a raise at work and is super happy!! It was a fun night.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Laurie, my job is still safe...for now. These initial decisions only reduced the Board's shortfall by $3 million. There's still another $6 million to find. The next few years are going to be very strained.

I saw my doctor today. He's having me try something else for my heartburn and reflux. The "cyst" I found last week on my tailbone is still inflamed somewhat (although not as bad as last week) so I have to take an antibiotic for the infection. He said it could be the return of my pilonidal cyst.
emoticon
Otherwise, I'm feeling better today in the sense that I actually slept last night. Woohoo! I'm so glad it's Friday tomorrow. I need a weekend, and soon...

Looking forward to seeing how everyone is doing in the April challenge.

Suzanne, you were able to keep your job? I know the directive was to make most of the cuts at the administrative level. Our school is nervous but I know the "higher ups" are even more nervous!
No matter what decisions and cuts are made, it's going to make for a very strained next few years.

I, too, and about to bring my capris out...it's finally time!! Woo hoo!

It has been a tough couple of days. Our Board made some big decisions yesterday because of the impact of the provincial budget and the $9.5 million shortfall we're seeing for the 2017-18 school year.

I maybe got about 1.5 hours of sleep last night. My brain was buzzing and wouldn't settle down. emoticon
Today I went for my back treatment and she was able to release my upper back and ribs a bit more than at the previous treatment. emoticon

On the bright side, it's Hump Day, and I decided to wear capris for the first time this year.

Sounds like you are still battling health issues Suzanne. I am so sorry. Hope you are feeling better soon!
I spent most of the weekend housecleaning. My sister is coming to stay for a few days. That will be great, she hasn't been up here for several years. She is coming to watch my daughter at regional drama.

Sorry I didn't post my results on Friday ladies. My Board has scheduled more meetings, which has me running around like a crazy woman trying to get everything organized and ready.

I hope you all had a good weekend.

I spent the weekend with my sister. We went through my movie collection again and I pulled 34 books/movies to sell on Varage. Slowly but surely I'm making some de-cluttering headway, but I still have a long way to go. The family also went out on the weekend to celebrate a birthday. It was nice to go out, and I only ate half of what was on my plate, and brought the other half home for supper on Sunday. I was very proud of myself for that feat.

It's back to work today. It hasn't been very good so far because I've been suffering from a really bad headache since Saturday night, but I've turned off the lights in my office and turned on a very dim lamp to provide at least some light for me to see where I'm going (I don't have windows in my office, so it gets very dark with the lights off). I'm looking forward to another back treatment mid-week to relieve some of the tension in my upper back.

Happy Monday everyone!

Suzanne, it sounds like you are dealing with quite a bit..I'm glad you are seeing progress!!

Yes, thank goodness for Friday!!

My daughter is on a ski trip until Sunday and then busy getting ready for regional drama. I will take this weekend to get caught up on house work....kinda looks like a bomb blew up!!

The pussy willows are out..I am so excited! They are my favorite "flower". I will cut some tomorrow and bring them home and take some to school.

Talk to you soon!

I've fallen down with posting here every day. Work has me so "buried," some days I don't know when I'll see light.

I go see my psychiatrist tomorrow. I think he'll be happy with the progress I've made. I still have a way to go to get back to where I was before this "breakdown" in October, but I'm moving in the right direction.

I also see my doctor next week, and the list of ailments currently plaguing me is increasing. Last night I found what appears to be a small cyst near my tailbone (and I found it mainly because it's inflamed). Grrrr....

Tomorrow is Friday! Yipee! I hope you all had a good week. I look forward to seeing your final results in the March challenge.

I went for a back treatment this morning and found out that the fall probably did more damage than initially suspected. No wonder the pain and decreased mobility have been almost unbearable all week.

My stomach is still pretty upset too. The reflux has calmed down a bit, but my stomach is just very unhappy. I'll have to revert to very bland food again for a few days and see if that helps any.

Otherwise, all is good. I'm keeping my spirits up regardless of what is happening around me. The inner happiness I'm feeling is starting to show in my focus and organization, which were both taking a hit when my depression was in high gear. It's good to be able to focus again for longer periods of time.

Happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here!!

I made almost 4900 steps yesterday so I surpassed my daily goal.

I had a bad night. My reflux has been acting up. I've been taking my meds for it for the last couple of days, but my chest and upper back hurt all night and I felt like I was breathing fire. It's still not completely settled down today, but it's better than it was last night. I have a massage treatment tomorrow, so I'm hoping that will help somewhat too.

My spirits are still up though. I am adamant that I won't let anything get me down this week. Being part of a Spark Team/Community again is really helping in that regard, so thank you.

Happy Hump Day (and also Budget Day).

Feeling a tad better today after my weekend fall, but my back, which is never happy, is just more unhappy because of it.

I spent the majority of my morning doing my triennial WHMIS training. I got 100%! Woohoo!!

But it's back to reality as I prepare for an audit and compliance meeting today and start to prepare for a board meeting next week. Doesn't that all sound like fun?! Haha!

I haven't gotten in my minimum 4600 for 2 days in a row now. I know the fall had an impact on my movement for a few days, but I am determined to push through the pain today and reach that 4600!

Hope you're all having a good Tuesday.

P.S. The salsa chicken was so good! I was so happy to find halved chicken breasts at Costco a while back and that's what I used. They don't take as long to cook and are a much better serving size for me.

Ouch!! Hope you're not feeling too bad today!
We love slowcooker salsa chicken in my house!!
I hear ya on the budget...hanging on!!

I am home today but have to work late Tues/Wed. Basketball is done for now so my daughter only has regional drama but she drives herself to and from for that.

I am anxiously waiting for the snow and mud to go away so I can get out for some walks!

Now is the time of year I look for pussywillows. They are my favorite! My drive to work includes a stretch of grid in a very boggy area. The willows are abundant and my first sign of spring!

I had an......interesting weekend.

I fell early Saturday morning while walking to the kitchen to give the pups their breakfast. (Side note: I keep a pee pad in the back hallway for Sully's use because he is house trained. Sophie sometimes uses it too.) It was still pretty dark in the house, but that's normal. Well, I guess Sophie had to pee during the night but missed the pee pad by a smidge. I have a vinyl floor runner under the pad and down that back hallway, and, when I stepped over the pee pad to get to the kitchen, my foot landed on the puddle of pee on the vinyl floor runner and down I went. I landed on my left elbow. Some skin came off, and now the elbow is bruised and swollen and very sore. My left knee is also very sore, as is the whole left side of my body, pretty much. I guess I'll be taking the long way around to the kitchen from now on.

My sister and I watched a few movies on the weekend -- A Fixer-Upper Mystery and two Gourmet Detective Mysteries. We tried to get the latest XXX:The Return of Zander Cage on the Android but it still had subtitles so will have to wait a bit longer. I think we might go see Beauty and the Beast next weekend. That was always my favourite Disney movie, together with Cinderella.

Yesterday I pulled out the crockpot and made salsa chicken, so I have my protein all ready for the week. Yay!

Hope you all have a good week. I'm dreading the release of the provincial budget on Wednesday, but what will be will be. C'est la vie.

Happy First Day of Spring!!! emoticon

Thanks Laurie!

So, being a bit OCD, I've made a chart with all the members' user names and where they're from (if they've identified). So far, Saskatoon is in the lead with 31. Regina is in second with 18.

I primarily did up the list to see who else was from Regina. Maybe once the weather gets nice, a bunch of us could meet up at the Leg and go for a walk around Wascana Park. Might be a nice way to meet new people and keep each other motivated...

Love the new do Suzanne!! Your weekend sounds like fun!

I spent my Saturday at basketball. They won so we go to Kenaston for regionals friday/saturday. My mom is in Outlook so I'll stay there and get a visit in with her. Sunday I did some books and housework and vegging!

These next two weeks are super busy. Normal guiding stuff, book fair, author visit, basketball, more books...

So looking forward to the warmer weather!!

Had a great weekend! Got a new haircut, from a new stylist, and I LOVE it! I feel so re-energized. I posted a photo of it on my Sparkpage.

I had a great time with M and my sister this weekend. We went to Starbucks and Chapters, and then did a bit of grocery shopping. We picked up pizza on the way home for supper. We watched a couple movies while M and I did some scrapbooking. (My sister doesn't scrap.) Sunday was just a lazy day. We watched another movie while eating brunch, and then I took M home. I spent the rest of the day just vegging because I needed some major "calm time" before the start of the work week, which is going to be very hectic.

I had a massage treatment first thing this morning, and so I'm pretty beat up now. My left shoulder and neck have been giving me extra grief lately, so she used the cups on me. Even after 45 minutes, the muscles would hardly give, so I'm using heat for the rest of the week and I go back again next week for another beating.

Have a good Monday everyone. Stay warm!

It's probably the weather and probably my diet... ugh... well, I'll loosen up during Zumba tonight!! lol or die trying! lol

It's so nice to see the sun shining today!

I woke up with a headache today, which I think was primarily caused by my upper back pain. I go for a massage on Monday, which can't come soon enough. I worked quite late on Tuesday -- another Board meeting. I didn't get home until just before 11PM. That's a long day, and my brain doesn't turn off right away either, so I lay in bed until 12:30 with my head just buzzing. My back is always bad for a few days after Board meetings too; yesterday was particularly bad. But I kept up my walking and got in over 10,000 for the very first time. So proud of myself!

I have one of my Goddaughters ("M") coming to spend the weekend with me. She and her sister have to take turns; I tried having them both over at the same time once and it completely exhausted me. "M" is older by 5 years and has always been a very calming soul. "K", on the other hand, is a whirling dervish--like the energizer bunny. The puppies will be happy; they love whenever the girls come over.

Cherie, I, too, am not a morning person. Although these days, I don't seem to be a night owl either. I just want to sleep ALL the time. :)

Enjoy the sunshine everyone!

I was supposed to work on Friday but another nurse needed to trade so she worked my Friday then I worked her Saturday. Then she asked if she could also trade my Monday for her Sunday...so I ended up working the weekend!! lol

My husband came home on Sunday night and Monday morning his phone went off and I wasn't expecting that loud ring and I jumped up and instantly had a bad dizzy spell! Oh I was so worried that I wouldn't make it stop! but I did! I sat on the edge of the bed and concentrated really hard on a focal point (kinda like what a figure skater would do) and it took about 2 min. I was quite nauseous after and it took a while to feel "better" but I was so grateful that it was short-lived!!! Phew!

Now it is blowing like crazy and snowing a bit...I do work today...I like the fact that I only live 2 blocks from work...I sure wouldn't want to be traveling from out of the city to come to work!! and I also like working evenings...I'm really not a good morning person!! Well, winter is not over but this too shall pass!!

Hi! My weekend wasn't all taht productive either..fun, just not productive!!
Today was good...there were no kids at school so I got quite a bit done. The weather in the nw is snowy and blowy but not as bad as the east.
This week I am focusing on steps, logging, and water (got 4/6 in so far!)

Hi everyone! Welcome back to winter! :(

I had a good weekend. I went to the Casino Show Lounge on Friday night to see the Globe Theatre's production of "Playing With Fire: The Theo Fleury Story". It was really good. I slept in on Saturday so the day was pretty much a wash. My family took me out for my birthday supper on Saturday night, which was really nice. Sunday was spent doing laundry and washing the floor.

My back has been feeling not too bad but my energy levels have been pretty low. Of course, work has been extremely busy so I'm usually exhausted by the time I get home every night. I'm focused on having a good week food-wise. I didn't get in my steps on Saturday or Sunday, and it's pretty low today too because I worked through my lunch hour, so I'll try to get on the treadmill tonight for a bit.

Have a good, albeit snowy, Monday!

Hi All...seems winter is back!!

Suzanne--your birthday and concert sounds great! I have one sibling, a sister 8 years younger, but we are best friends. I do have a friend from high school that I am still in touch with on fb but busy lives mean we don't see much of each other in person.

Cherie--3 boys would be busy!! I have 4 kids 17 years apart. I had my first daughter with my first husband and then a decade later had 3 kids with my second husband. Now my grandkids will be spread out too..so far they range in age from 12-1 and that's only 2 of my kids having kids..I still am waiting (but not impatiently) on my 21 yr old son and 17 yr old daughter!

I have not lost any yet in March but have not gained either so I guess that's a sort of a win! I am keeping my goals in the front of my mind and my life so, hopefully, I'll see some results in a few weeks!

Wow! Sounds like a wonderful time! Sisters are forever friends!

I have one sister and although we live a province apart and she is 17 yrs older than me, kinda more of a mother figure to me, we are very close! My mom and dad had 6 kids, and it took them 19 yrs to do it! lol ya, I wasn't gonna do that! So I had my first 2 boys 1 1/2 yrs apart but my first husband died in a farming accident when my 2nd boy was 6 mos and I thought I was done having kids but I remarried and had 1 more boy just after my 30th birthday but I said, that's enough! lol oh goodness, I'm rambling!

The scale was not my friend this week either...but I will also hit my March goals! Happy Friday!

Hi all. Sorry I didn't log in yesterday. It was just one of those days. I put in 90 minutes of OT yesterday and was just exhausted and also a bit grouchy by the end of the day.

I went to a concert with my sister for my birthday. We saw Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt. It was amazing! Over 2.5 hours of non-stop excellent music and witty banter. It was a great birthday! Plus, being with my sister is always a good thing. We're the best of friends. We spend most of our weekends together.

My BFF Carla came over last night for a visit. She just got back from a hot holiday, so we hadn't seen each for about 2 weeks. It was awesome to just sit and visit and laugh and catch up. I'm very blessed. She's been my best friend since I was 14 (so 32 years). Actually, I have a couple of long-time friends with whom I'm still very close. Do any of you have long-time friends that just seem to get you?

Even though I behaved myself all week, the scale was not in my favour this morning. But I'm not discouraged. I will reach my March goals! (I'll post my results on the March Challenge page.)

Have a good weekend everyone!!!

Thanks Cherie! It's today!
Wow, another year gone, but another one ahead of me with so much potential. I take each day at a time, because I know none of us are guaranteed a tomorrow. I've lost so many people in my life, so many family members and dear friends, some far too young. It makes me cherish every day, regardless of whether it's a good or bad one. Life is too precious to waste it, so I will continue to live each day to the fullest, and be thankful for my family and friends (and SparkFriends) who enrich my life beyond measure.

Hi! Well, I worked a night shift on Friday. Of course, silly me, didn't sleep before I went. I got about 3 1/2 hours on Saturday... I've been pretty wiped for the rest of the weekend. Now tomorrow I go back to my regular evening shifts. Hope everyone has a great week!

Suzanne, for whichever day it is...Happy Birthday! :)

Hi everyone!
Ruth, congrats on being a cancer survivor! My best friend is a lung cancer survivor, and I know the fight that has to go into that. It takes a lot of physical and emotional strength for that fight, and you definitely have it.
I read your Spark page Ruth, and I too suffer from depression and anxiety. I have for the majority of my adult life. Know that there is always hope. And know that I am here for you.
I'm going to do some cleaning and laundry today, before it's back to work tomorrow.
Ttyl!

emoticon It's Friday!!

I've heard from a few other Team SK members, and here's hoping there are more out there ready to come back. I haven't felt this motivated in a long time and am so thankful I came back to Team SK.

Have a great weekend everyone! I'm without internet at home at the moment, but I'm hoping it'll be back up and running by later this evening. So, if all goes as planned, I'll be able to post this weekend without having to do so on my phone.

P.S. Have you heard about the giraffe ready to give birth at the Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, NY? I've been watching the live feed on Youtube. I'm so hoping to actually see the birth. That would be awesome!!

Me again.
I just wanted to give you all a heads up. I had been working on an email message for the last few days and finally sent it out (in 4 batches) to all team members with active pages. The team's main page says we have 477 members, but, after counting, there are only 442, and 93 of them no longer have active pages. Of those 349 remaining members, 23 of them "do not accept SparkMail".
And...I've already heard back from some! Yay!
I'm excited to see how active we can get this team.
But I also want to thank those of you who are already here, motivating me since I've "returned" to the team. You're all AWESOME!!!
Have a great Thursday evening! Tomorrow is Friday!!!

Hi!
I woke up at 4am with a headache and couldn't get back to sleep. The headache has dissipated a bit, but they were tarring the roof at work this morning, and that smell brought it back. I decided to come to work early as I was up anyway, so I'll be able to leave a bit earlier today too, which will be nice.
I hope you're all having a good Thursday. Is anyone going to watch the new Blacklist Redemption series starting tonight?

I did! My daughter and son-in-law came to visit. In a few days we will go to see my oldest daughter and her family. My only son is living with her while he is in school for one more week so we'll see him too!! Only thing missing is hubby who is working in northern Alberta. He should be home next Monday though!

I had a very relaxing long weekend, but now it's back to reality. I hope you all got to spend some quality time with family over the Family Day long weekend.

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday!

Laurie, I work for the PreK-12 public school system in my city. It's a very rewarding job, but I worry about what is coming down from the provincial gov't.

My sister and I spent a couple hours at Chapters today. We love to go there, even if it's only to browse. I love books! I ended up buying two today. We might watch a movie or two tonight.

Hope you're all having a good weekend!

Happy Saturday!

Suzanne, hope you enjoy your extra day off and get rested up! What type of office do you work in?

I am a library tech at a k-12 school so I do have all next week off! I am excited! My daughter surprised me yesterday and they are here for the weekend with my 1 yr old granddaughter. The baby is going to spend the week with me. Mid-week, she, my youngest daughter, and I are going to Saskatoon to stay with my oldest daughter and the rest of the grandkids.

I don't know how rested I'll feel when I have to go back to work but I will have had fun!!

Very foggy here today.

Laurie

I didn't post yesterday. My work day was extra busy, and my evening was spent vegging on the sofa. I've been extra tired this week, and I'm not sure why. I know I'm always tired for a few days after a Board meeting, but this seems double the usual tiredness. I'm looking forward to lots of sleep this Family Day long weekend.
With the Family Day Week Break next week, it should be nice and quiet in the office, which helps with productivity. (Wish I could have taken the week off though.) My focus for the next week is to log my food and water intake every day. It's been a long time since I have done that consistently, so we'll see how it goes.
Happy Family Day to everyone!

Hi. I'm just taking a quick lunch break so thought I'd check in. I'm quite tired today even though I got home earlier than anticipated (9:30pm). Board meeting days allow me to get in more steps than usual though -- I'm pretty pumped that I almost reached 7,000 -- but my back always pays for it in the few days following. I'm tired and looking forward to a quiet night at home.

Keep staying healthy Cherie!

P.S. I really like to craft. I knit constantly, but I really have to get back to my scrapbooking. I promised a friend I would do up a book for her daughter and it has to be done by September. There are about 50-60 pages in total to do and I've only done around 6. Yikes! Do any of you scrapbook?
Here are two of my earlier pages -- but definitely favourites!

I just got home from work a little while ago. The outbreak is still on and I am still healthy! Yay me!

Suzanne, you are very talented! I don't have a crafty bone in my body! lol I hope you all had a nice Valentine's Day. It is not one of my favorite days...I don't really know why...my husband works out of town but it's never really been a good time for us...overrated maybe, but this year it just wasn't a big deal. I can home from work and I'm sharing some popcorn with my shih-tsu Shelby! :)

-sparkfully,
Cherie

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a good week thus far. I am, thankfully, almost over this virus (I hope). I'm feeling much better.

Work has ramped up again, and I'll be working late tonight, as there is a board meeting. (I'd rather spend Valentine's Day with my pups, but, alas, my work responsibilities take priority.)

I did get a bit crafty for this February 14th, and made a couple of cute Valentine's Day boxes (filled with Hershey's Kisses). I gave one to my boss and one to a very close colleague and friend.

I hope you all have a great day and a great week. I'll try to pop in every day to say hi. I would love to have this team get really active, and if there's anything I can do to make that happen, please let me know. I used to post monthly challenges in my old team, and would be more than happy to do that here.

P.S. Thanks for accepting me as a Fitbit friend Cherie!

Hi Suzanne! It is cold here in Saskatoon too! I work at a nursing home that is currently in a respiratory outbreak. I have had the flu shot and so far I have avoided being infected. I also have a history of vertigo and I sure can understand what you are going through! I have been told that it is not uncommon to get a bout of vertigo after having a virus. I do believe you are now a fitbit buddy? I hope you feel better soon!

-sparkfully,
Cherie

Another cold day, but the sun is shining brightly.

I've been fighting a virus for a little over a week now and it's been throwing me curve balls the entire time. I really thought I was getting over it, and then I had an episode of vertigo this morning and, subsequently, a very upset stomach. I'm fine now, but it was not a good way to start the day. The meds I take for pain do give me brain fog when I first take them, but this was not the regular "fog." It has to be the virus. It doesn't help that pretty much half the people I work with are fighting off something too. That's definitely one thing I don't like about winter!

On the bright side, it's Hump Day, so one day closer to the weekend. As one of my ring tones reminds me... "Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, what day is it Mike?"

Happy Hump Day everyone!
