Thanks everyone! I swear, running long races is like childbirth...I've already moved on to just remembering the great parts of it haha!

Logould (sorry...I can't remember your name!) - I am doing the Fox Valley again this year! I'm either doing the 20 miler or the full...haven't decided yet. I'm going to help with the training runs, so I'll get up to 20 miles before the race day anyway. Plus I love that race so much, and I'd love for it to be my first full :) Good luck this weekend!

It might have been tough, but you are tougher! I had a bunch of friendds running that one....I'm doing the Fox River Trail Half next week-end and then will do the Fox Valley Half in the fall. Any chance you'll be doing Fox Valley also?

Congrats on your finish!!!

It is tough to run on trails, but a lot of fun at the same time. You are a half marathoner and that is a huge accomplishment. Running in the heat is tough (I live in Miami so I could talk volumes on that subject) and it takes a toll on the body if you are not used to it. Enjoy your wonderful memories and...plan that next half soon.

I ran in a local half marathon here in my town called the Great Western Half Marathon. We've gone from winter to practically summer in the last few days, but sadly the trees on the trails haven't caught up yet. The path we ran it on would normally be pretty shaded at this time of year, but it was still mostly full-on sun. I did okay the first 9-10 miles, but that last 5K was tough. My hips/IT bands were not happy with me...lol! I think I'm due for new shoes, so hopefully that will help. I'm still not sure of my official time yet, but I think it was around 2:55 or so...not my best time, but it was still a nice race. Oh, and unlimited pizza at the finish was a great way to end the run!
