Rio is a great place to run. My mother emigrated there years ago and we visit her occasionally. For a little inspiration, take a look at this midnight solo run I did through the favellas of Corcovado. connect.garmin.com/player/240403600 You can set it on satellite view and really zoom in. I made a SparkBlog entry on 11/15/12 if you're interested.

If you are a runner, it doesn't matter how far or how fast. It doesn't matter if today is your first day or if you've been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run." J Bingham

I ran my first half in Kansas City in 2011 and since then have been running but just short runs. My hubby and I are now living in Rio (for a year) and the half is in August. I'm nervous and excited and a little giddy!
