My training has me running for 60 minutes today. I hope I can finally break through my plateau and get to 5 miles.

Update: I actually got 5.22 miles out of those 60 minutes! Yay!

Decent run yesterday. Started out slowly because it felt like had a pulled muscle on the right side of my ribs, but the pain was gone by the second half and I was able to go faster. No pain after that.

I just ran my first half yesterday! 2:03:07! And I just have to say I'm hooked. There were so many reasons not to run (knee pain, ankle weirdness, and even a lack of transportation to the race) that I began to think I would never run a half (extreme, I know). In reflecting, those problems were really excuses. I'm so glad I powered through them. It felt amazing to finish something for the first time in a long time.

Congrats on all the successes this month! My next HM is March 2nd, so my long run is now 9 miles. Thankful that I remain injury-free. And, grateful for the pound that I worked to lose last week!

No matter how she meant it, you can look at it as positive. Congrats on your success so far! The Disney run sounds sooo fun! I'm doing my first half-marathon in March. Thanks for the inspiration!

One week today, I will hopefully have finished my second half marathon, this one at Disneyland! I am excited for it and feel confident I can do it and beat my last time. I go slow, really slow, but I hope to decrease my time each race. It got a "compliment" from someone the other day that really set me back. This friend told me, "I was telling someone that there is no way I could run that far and they said, "Well, Shauna did it, and if she could do it, then you could definitely do it." There are so many different ways she could have said the same thing with a positive twist. But, I am doing it, and i have to hold on to that. Jogging is for me, I don't do it to please others or make them feel better that at least they can go faster than me. I compare myself to myself. Slow, but sure, and slowly going faster emoticon ! I will let you know how it goes!!

I have been ok'd by the physical therapist to start running again!!!! Only 10 minutes (doing 2 minutes of running and 1 minute of walking cylces). I'll take it. Those are the most wonderful 10 minutes of my day.

My first half-marathon coming up in March or April. Ran 8.2 miles today. Felt a bit nauseated afterwards.I think I waited too long to eat. Still, I'm so excited! Woohoo!

Your goals are all so great!!

After months away from running (injury + school = no motivation) I'm three weeks into running at least 10 minutes a day 6 days a week....and am up to four miles on Sundays. Slow and steady increase of mileage, to hopefully be back to 20mi/wk then ultimately 30.

Go team, we can do it!! emoticon

Trying not to beat myself up too bad over holiday eating choices....facing the consequences of those choices, but not as badly as in years past, so that's a good thing. Not wallowing in pity and compounding the problem, so that's another win. Back on track and setting goals for the year. Looking at going back to school and getting personal trainer certified and then starting classes for physical therapist this year. Let's keep our eyes on the goals and have some fun along the way! This month, so far, I have extended the distance I am to run, fully run, from 4 miles to 6.2 miles.

On Monday the 7th, I will run/walk my longest distance yet 14 miles. My record so far, set in Dec, is 11 miles.

Thanks for starting this. I don't feel very successful at the moment so I'll just say I'm running 4 times/week for 2-3 miles while on a very low-carb diet. I know the speed will come over time.
