Thanks so much for sharing this....it's good to be reminded that everyday we just need to try to be a LITTLE bit better than we were the day before. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't, but in the long run, we are only in competition with ourselves (and our minds). Our goal needs to be the best each of us (individually) can be!

Definitely a good article and I think will speak to a lot of people. As I am an imperfect runner and have been one for the past decade, I think I'm finally starting to accept that running is "hard" at times but mostly due to it being self imposed. All the missed running I have had while training for a half marathon is completely my fault. So, I'm working on taking responsibility for it and understand I will have a slower time for my HM and have adjusted my goals to finishing within the timelimit as opposed to the time I had. I know it's going to be challenging but instead of giving up (which I have done before) and not even showing up...I'm getting over it and moving forward.
