Nancy, 5.75 km. is the furthest which I know is not even close to 8 k.
So I am realizing that even-though I have been running 3 times a week since the 5 K May6. I am running with my family to encourage them to keep going and they have been dong well with C25K, but in doing so, I may have lost endurance in the process. I went for a run this evening and I tried Running for 10 mins and walking 1min and I did a total of 22mins. I still did my 5 min warm up and 5 min cool down. I did not push it any further as the 8K is on Saturday so I have 1 day break before. Maby today was a harder for me because I was going faster and lifting my feet more that when I did the 5 K May 6. I am a little nervous though as today was not a walk in the park.. IS this Bad or Good and how will I do at a 8 K race considering?
I really don't want to feel like I am copping out of doing race on Saturday. So hard to know what to do. I walked it last year and I had really hoped I would be able to come back this year running it. I so very much want to do it but I don't want to embarrass myself by walking running as I was able to run the whole 5 K May 6. Also I definitely do not want to cause injuries.
Bad news my daughter has very sore calfs that last couple of days as after our last rut the very next day in gym class they had to run 12 mins and she was sore to begin with. Good new is she is beginning to heal up. I also got a appointment for Pothiadrist for her incase she needs an adjustment of her inserts. MOM is still running she is on Week 2 day 3 and doing well she is running in the mornings now on her own as it is a better time for her. I Love running in the morning to but due to work I have to go in evening and that is the time Heidi wants to go to. I love that my family is trying C25K.
