I like my 305 because of the extras not the HRM feature. I use the HRM sometimes, but it does not convert the HR data to calories burned. I find this to be a limiting feature of of 305, it's okay for running and probably biking, but if you are doing an activity that it is not specifically designed for---like a step aerobics class it's limiting. With step you will seem to have burned no calories, because you have not traveled any distance even though it has registered an increase in your HR.
