Thanks all for the comments! I do get my shoes professionally fitted, using the "Shoe Dog" at Road Runner's here in San Diego. I don't wear them except for running. I also overpronate so that may be a part of the issue. I am going to take them back for sure, but just wondered if anyone else experienced this. Sounds like I am way outside the norm...oh well!

Goal: Lose as much as possible by July 1--keep that scales on a downward trend. Continue losing until I reach 129. And then maintain, not gain!!

i agree that is quite quick to wear down a pair. i agree some brands wear down quicker than others but it is also probably different for everyone.

many people love their new balances but whenever i buy them it lasts me a couple of months at most.

i usually wear shoes down around 300 miles of only running.

are you using your runners for more than running? if you are that could be the problem too. runners need time to "relax" so the cushioning can rebound.

Hello Erika,

I've had really good luck with Misuno Alchemy 7 running shoes, if you're looking to try something new (I should mention that I'm an over pronator, so these are support shoes but they're not bulky!). If you're around the Central Ohio area I would highly recommend FrontRunner, on Lane in Columbus.

Hope you get this all sorted out, because you def. shouldn't be wearing out shoes in 100 miles.

Erika,

I have read that some brands do wear out sooner than others. Before switching to Newtons a few weeks ago, I was able to get a good 300-400 miles out of my Asics 2120s. If you purchaed your Saucony's at a running store, I think I would take them in and see what they say. I would think you should get more than 100 miles out of them...For me that would mean buying a new pair almost every 3-4 weeks and that would get pretty expensive even if they were on sale.

HAPPY RUNNING!
Nancy

Do you get your shoes fitted? I think running shoes should last around 400-500 miles. I go to Fleet Feet. They are all over. We have been really happy going to them. They will fit you and give you recommendations.

My running shoes always seem to wear out faster than they should. My most recent pair (Saucony) wore off the outsole down to the colored midsole on the outside of the heel in less than 100 miles of running! Am I just an (overweight) strong heel striker? Do shoes last longer for you?
