I believe the intent of zig zagging your calories is to shock your body! Additionally, this helped me break my months long plateau!

zigging sounds great but still unsure of the exact thing that you are doing. I think I already pretty much do this now just want to be for certain.

I went to free dieting. They have a 7 day calorie cycling calculator. I'm not sure I "get it" I'm wondering if I could just plan / try to hit high in my range a few times a week?

Yeah, you should at least eat 1200 calories a day and try your best not to go below that. What website did you go to?

SO today I start. really nervous. 1526 calories today! THATS high! And WED???
eeek. The site I went to calculated this and an "extreme loss" calorie schedule. the Extreme would have me under 1200 a lot . . . thinking that may not be the best thing.

Let us know of your progress. Again, once I leave my mother's house (I came for Mother's Day), I am going to get back started doing the Zig Zag calories method. I will keep everyone posted.

OK! So I'm going to give this a try. I've already started . . sort of. I am going to try to follow some kind of guideline. Scary eating high calories. With a few exceptions I have been in the same small range since Jan (1200-1300) need to shake things up a bit

Actual did this in March and lost 6 pounds. Tried to stick with regular calorie range for April's challenge and only lost 1.5 pounds. Now, that the birthday is over, I am getting back to doing this. For example, on days I do the C25K and strength training, I tend to burn 1000 calories or more. So, I eat more: 1500-1700 calories. The days I only do cardio (walking, elliptical, etc.), my calorie range is 1300-1500 calories. Starting Monday, I am going to really focus on this again.

i just heard something about this today at work...but the girl i know does it on a weekly basis...one week she is lower and the next higher.. she says she has lost on average 9 pounds per month
since january!!

IF WE WERE TO START LIVING THE "TRUTH" THAT OUR BODIES ARE TEMPLES THAT GOD GAVE US, HOW WOULD YOU TAKE CARE OF IT??

I really do think my caloires are to low for my new activity levels - but have been afraid to go to high. I like the idea of having high and low days.

It's also called calorie cycling. There is a great team on here that you can join.

The basis of it all is that on your higher workout days- say if you do cardio & weight training you'd take in more calories. On your slower days you'd take in less calories. I've been using it for a week and I've lost one pound, but most people who do it lose an aveage of 2 pounds a week. I didn't do it fully last week so I'm hoping for better results this week! Check out the group for a lot more info :)
