You're welcome! I also tried something else recently. I read somewhere on SPARK that 2000 steps = 1 mile so I used my pedometer that tracks both steps and miles to see if that was in fact true, and yep, it is! emoticon

That makes perfect sense to me :) I need to try that when I get some continuous walking in here. Thanks for sharing!

I understand exactly what you're saying, GOOFYGIRL - and I have the same problem when I am tracking my steps at work vs. tracking them when I am out powerwalking. What's been suggested to me in the past is to look at how many steps when I am powerwalking and the time it took for those, then with the other steps during the day use that as a guide - don't know if that will help but you're certainly welcome to try it.

I only count as exercise the actual time I spend walking for exercise. I also track the total steps, but since that is not normally continuous walking, I do not count it as exercise, just steps. I found a website www.walkertracker.com (also free) that you can track your steps each day and see how you are doing.

Yes, my pedometer tracks both miles and steps, but when I go to track my exercise to see how many calories I've burned the only options I have are a certain minute mile. So- I'm not sure how to count all that walking as exercise when I don't know how long it's taking me to walk that far. Make sense?

Hi GOOFYGIRL - does your pedometer have a mode to track miles as well as steps? If not, you may want to invest in one that does (they are very inexpensive at Walmart or Target), or if the one you have is one you're comfortable with, you just need to convert your steps taken at the end of day into miles. I have one that tracks steps and miles, and one that tracks steps only.

your walking when it comes to fitness? I spend a lot of time walking, but unless I'm timing my step to get a 30 minute mile I don't know how to track it. I look down at my pedometer at the end of the day and is says x miles. Then what?
