Bsaingpa, Don't be too hard on yourself, you've already lost 3 pounds, so you should be very proud of your progress. My goal is to lose one pound a week, but I don't even achieve that some weeks. I don't let it discourage me, because sometimes I can't focus on working out as much as I'd like to, with medical issues, and work etc... life happens. I focus on the big picture, and that makes me see the overall healthy changes in my lifestyle (drinking more water, really enjoying excercise, less doctor's visits and less pain) I've never tried green tea, and I don't really use any home remedies for weight loss, so I can't help you there. I get a lot of strange side effects from some medications, and some supplements, so I don't venture into trying those things. I know that you have to be careful with some of those herbal remedies. There are some Spark articles that discuss some of these remedies, but I don't think they say many good things about them, so you may want to be careful, and really do your research. Maybe you could check out the articles section of Spark for some info? take care Nadia

When I first wanted to lose weight about 4 years ago, I used Tony Horton's Power 90 and I lost weight. I did it consistently. If you follow what he recommends, then I believe you will lose too. Once I get my tax return, I am actually going to order the other Power 90 series. This one is a little more intense than the regular Power 90. Actually, one of our very own WOAM is actually using this new series. I have asked her to keep us up-to-date on her progress. In addition, I have increased my fruit and vegetable intake. You should definitely see some results, whether it's pounds or inches.

BSAINGPA - I applaud your desire to want to lose that amount of weight in such a short period of time, but I have to agree with the others and strongly urge you to reconsider it for the sake of your health. Afterall, you do want to be able to attend your wedding as a healthy bride. Two pounds a week is safer - Lord knows I wish I could lose 2 pounds a week but at this point I am willing to take ANY loss at ANY time. We wish you well, and we certainly support your enthusiasm!

Everyone has already given you some terrific advice but wanted to share my view as well. I wouldn't lose anymore than 2lbs a week for safety sake. Think of it this way, if you eat poorly and are under nourished you will be a washed out, drained, hair falling out bride. Instead, if you eat healthy and exercise smart than you will have radiant skin, beautiful hair and be healthier and energized. What you need to do in my opinion is concentrate on each day as it comes. Exercise for 60 minutes, stay at the low end of the calories range but don't go under that low range. If you do that than you will have lost quite a bit of weight and will feel magnificent for the wedding and honeymoon. By the way, congratulations on your engagement, weddings are so much fun.

We live each day with the thought of a better tomorrow so lets make all of our tomorrows healthier and fulfilling.
That is about 5 lbs a week. That is a little rough on your body. Realisticly, you should only lose 2 lbs a week for a safe weight loss. But I do know people when they make the right changes to their diet will lose more the first 2 weeks of their diet.
I think you are putting a lot of pressure on yourself. Not to mention the stress of an upcoming wedding. It would seem to me your body will go into a shut down mode and "keep what it has." Not allowing you to lose weight.
I think you should shoot for a safer and more realistic weight loss. 2 lbs a week. Giving you roughly a 24 lb weight loss before your wedding.

Be careful BSAINGPA. not being negative but sp suggested that we lose weight in a safe and gradual way. We all want a over night cure but there is none, this a process that will take time. Be patient I say this with concern. Be safe and cautious on this. It could be dangerous.

THERE IS NO TEMPTATION TAKEN YOU BUT SUCH AS IS COMMON TO MAN; BUT GOD IS FAITHFUL, WHO WILL NOT SUFFER YOU TO BE TEMPTED ABOVE THAT YOU ARE ABLE BUT WILL WITH TEMPTATION ALSO MAKE A WAY OF ESCAPE THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO BEAR IT.
WoW! That is quite the goal! First off, congratulations on getting engaged, and on taking your first steps toward a healthier lifestyle. I don't think there is any magic solution to losing weight extremely quickly that is healthy. However, I believe that any steps toward your goal is better than throwing up your hands in defeat. My suggestions may be obvious, but... make smart choices at mealtimes. Increase your fruit and veggie intake, drink plenty of water (no juice and no soda- too much sugar). With a goal like yours I would give myself a minimum of 60 minutes of working out per day, but be sure to ease into this if you are not currently very active, otherwise you may risk injury. Last but not least, be proud of all the little steps you take along the way towards a healthier lifestyle. Don't fixate on the numbers on the scale, take your measurements along the way, and they can show proof of your progress also. Goodluck, and let me know if you need a buddy for encouragement.
