I have a lot of mini goals for the upcoming month of September but I will work on a few at a time. I do not want to get over whelmed...so I list them but work on only a few of them for now and increase them as a go along.

1. Exercise 30 min min 5-6days a week & increase the
workout time gradually.

2. Eat 3 whole grains daily.

3. Eat 2-3 fruits a day.

4. Eat 3-4 veggies a day.

5. Now for the finally one I admittedly struggle with strength training. So I will start with a 20 min work out 2 a week. Then increase to 3 days add core workout. Prayers for these goals. I walking on faith.

1. Complete C25K, then find another program to keep running!

My Goal for the rest of the year is simply to make some progress. Even if it's just 5 lbs I can keep off. Wish me luck. When I fell of the Wagon I think I broke my leg because it is so hard to jump back on.

My goal is to reach the BMI that fits my height. Ever since college ended and I could afford food, I have. And it really started to show after moving to LA from SF. My bicycle was replaced with a car and a 2 hour daily commute, which has been my excuse for the past 2 years. I am over not fitting into my clothing and working to keep it off this time. Cheers!

My goal is to just be healthy and here I am still stuck at 214. I don't gain but I don't lose either. My doctor said South Beach but I tried that before and it's so boring. Any ideas on how to make it not?

My goals for 2009 are:

Get out of the 200's which means loosing 79lbs this year.... break it down: 9.8lbs per week... it's doable, right?

Get on and stay on a plan to exercise 5 times a week every single week.

Focus on me and my health and make that my priority for this year.

Goals 2009:
1) Wear my favorite pants again. Hopefully this will happen by April. It is only one size smaller but I will take it.
2) Exercise more.
3) Shop in "Misses" clothing instead of "womens" or "plus size" clothing.
4) Increase endurance
5) Make healthier food choices

Hello ladies!! My goals for this tear are to lose another 100Lbs,serious toning,to form a reg.gym habit,and to love mySELF a little more. 2009 Goals:
HEALTH
Quit smoking without gaining weight.
Reach my weight-loss goal.

FITNESS
Make a more regular time in my schedule to work-out rather than wherever I can fit it in.
Get back into boxing.
Continue my yoga.

NUTRITION
Only one meal from work a week (difficult when you are a chef and cook food all day).
Cut down my diet soda intake to two to three cans a week.
Drink more water, just water, not flavoured unless with fresh fruit.

MENTAL
Spend more time doing things for myself.
Learn to say no.

I'm pretty new to this team, so I wanted to jump in on this thread and post my goals for 2009 (in outline form, because I am just that geeky):

I. Lose 50 lbs by...
A. Adopting a regular exercize program
B. Tracking my food each day
C. Adopting a strength training program
D. Getting enough sleep each night
E. Getting that water
F. Reestablishing my yoga practice

I have so much more I want to do for my life and my family this year, but since this team is about losing weight, I will leave it there. I have been working out regularly since the beginning of this month, so...I'm feeling pretty successful thus far.

My goal weight is 40lbs from where I started (on Jan. 4th), and 31lbs from where I am now. I am striving to reach that goal in the upcoming months (hopefully by the middle of the year). Once there I will reevaluate my goals and decide whether I need to lose another 10lbs or simply tone up.

Did get a 30 min walk yesterday afternoon. Got to the gym today for 30 tread and 20 elliptical. Am having root canal done later this morning so I probably wont get any walking done today, plus it is real cold outside.

Today I exercised for 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes this evening. I also stayed within my calorie range; drank 8 glasses of water and didn't eat after 8pm. I thank God that I am back in control. This is day 3 and I have been able to stick to my daily goals. I am now doing this for health reasons - my cholestrol. It's all about the health, not about about anything else.

Got to the gym again today for 35 tread and 25 elliptical. Feeling so much better and clothes are fitting a little bit better too.
It is pouring rain out today so I probably wont get any walking done today.

Ok - I am putting my new years resolutions in writing so that I am more likely to stick to them!!!

1. I will lose 40 lbs this year.
2. I will post every day that I have internet access.
3. I will track my food either online or on paper.
4. I will exercise 3 times per week at a minimum.

Mini Goals for Summer 2010:
200's by 1-31-11
190's by 2-28-11
180's by 3-31-11
170's by 4-30-11
160's by 5-31-11

This would put me 10 lbs away from my goal at my birthday!

Cardio: 5-6 days a week (1hr)
Strength: 3 days a week
Increase water intake, decrease fried food intake.
Continue to eat 5 small meals per day.

So far...
Didn't start on January 1, as I had planned. Too much left-overs and a lack of inspiration.
Yesterday (Friday) I walked for about 60 minutes + did 12x2 crunches and 12x2 modified push-ups. Stayed under 1250 kcal, drank my water.
Today (Saturday) I walked for a bit over 60 minutes. So far OK with calories and on track with water.

Now it is just after midnight here in Europe. I did not stay under 1250 kcal, but within the range, so I guess it's OK. :)

My goal is to loose at least half a kilo per week (appr 1 pound). I will do this by:
Staying under 1250 kcal intake per day.
Drinking at least 8 cups of water.
Walking 60 minutes per day.
Swimming 2-3 times/week - starting Monday.
Crunches + push-ups, starting with 2x12, increasing as I grow stronger. 3 times/week (at least).

No gym yet today. I slept in and it felt great. It is a dark gray day outside so I am not feeling very motivated. The sun is supposed to come out later today and maybe then I will go for a long walk.

5 pounds per month, 90 opounds total. I will do this by not lying to myself or ommitting anything from the tracker. That has really kept me on track. I have done this soooooo many times before. i will get it right. Also the book, Radical Acceptance is a great book for any of you that are self loathers such as myself. But, no more of that! Excercise is a bit of a problem rigfht now, I have a pulled tendon in my Left foot, and an athritic right knee but i will find something that works like palites or yoga to start. I am "on a mission" to become what I want and deserve to be. I am the ONLY captain of this ship! emoticon

Can I join, can I join??? I just found this wonderful group.

My goals for 2009 are:

1. Lose 49 lbs to get to my goal by the summer (unless I am blessed to become pregnant before then) ;)

2. Get more active... as this has been lacking since I started SP. I want to start with the 30min 3 days a week and work up to 30min 5 days a week... then see where I can go from there.

3. Work on getting more protein in my diet... this is harder being vegetarian.

My goals are:

Lose reach my goal weight by July 1st.
Go to the gym everyday for 3 weeks (21 days to make a habit)
Quit smoking

My goals are:
1. Lose 29 lbs by April 09
2. Go to the gym everyday ~ 30+ mins of cardio everyday and strength train 3x's a week.
3. Reward myself with every 10lb loss~ stay positive/focused, it didn't get put on overnight..it certainly isn't gonna come off overnight
4. Reach goal weight of 120 by my birthday Nov 09

OK, Goals for 2009:

1. Have quiet time in AM: Meditate, read inspirations before I start in eating.
2. Reduce caffeine and alchohol.
3. Increase water and raw foods.
4. Reduce time 'vegging' in front of TV.

goals for 2009:


1: get in some form of exercise,go to the gym at least 2 x a week -
2: aim to lose at least 1kg a week
3: pay more attention to my health
4: aim to give up smoking by 2010
5: do some voluntary work with children in nz which will also enable me to learn the maori language along with the kids
6: reward myself now and then, maybe 3 monthly if all is going well

My goals for 2009 are:

Reach my goal weight of 120
Run atleast 3 races 2 5k and 1 10k
Eat clean and stay consistant in my workouts
Keep active and do some volunteer work and help others

In 2009, I want to reach my goal weight of 130 lbs.! I have lost a total of 41 lbs this past year have about 55 lbs. to go. I be consistent with and stick to my calorie limit food intake, focus on getting 2-3 sessions of strength training per week and just be more positive. Sometimes I'm too hard on myself and I'd like to work on that as well. emoticon

For 2009, I would like to lose my first 25 lbs (yes, there is a second 25 lbs to deal with!) by exercising 4-5 days/wk for a min of 15mins and try to get 8hrs of sleep per night.

Progress, not perfection!

My three goals...

1) Be consistant with my workouts. I already write up monthly workout goals...now I need to stick to them! I would ultimately like to work out 5-6 days a week for 45 minutes a day on average (more is not bad, but I don't want to do less).

2) Eat better. I don't do terribly with types of food, but I need to control portion size and cut back on the things that aren't entirely helpful to my health goals. Up the fruits and veggies as snacks. More water.

3) Run 3 races. I don't care if they're all 5K's or if they are longer, but I'd like to set goals to run 3 races.

My Goals:

Lose 30 lbs.
Exercise at the gym 5-6 days each week.
Eat a balanced diet with lots of veggies & fruits.
Keep more active and Laugh more.

Lose 40 lbs.
Stick to the plan.. I always find a reason not too
find a weight loss buddy who has similar goals
Feel good about myself even when I eat something I should not have.
spend more time being happy

1. Loose 35 lbs

2. Eat healthier than I have been, especially getting enough veggies and fruit

3. Improve on my running and run a 5k without walking

Three goals of mine for 2009:

Lose @40 lbs to get to my goal weight.

Do solid 1 hour workouts on the elliptical (I'm up to 40 minutes right now).

Complete a 100 mile bike tour! (My longest tour in 2008, which was my first year of doing such rides, was 69 miles.)

Ladies,

Please share your goals for 2009. This helps me gear challenges towards meeting our goals. For example, share how much weight you would like to lose in 2009 and other healthy goals you would like to accomplish in 2009! Please post 2-3 healthier goals you want to accomplish for 2009. It could be eating better, getting more sleep, increasing your workout time, etc. Please share with us and I will do my best to create challenges for us throughout the year. We will continue to post monthly successful Breakthrough Women on a Mission starting in January. Ladies, let's strive to accomplish our goals together as well as motivate and encourage one another. Remember, we can do this and we are worth the time and effort! So, share your goals for '09. Remember, we are a team: Together Everyone Accomplishes More!

Also, please share ideas on challenges you would like to see in the upcoming year!
