Lasik is the BEST! I had it done last September, and I can SEE! I was scared to death of the surgery, took me a year to work up my nerve, but it was over in about 20 min, and wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be! I recommend it to everyone who asks!
I had it done because my eyes were getting too dry to wear contacts. I'd worn contacts for 20 years, since I was 16 (driver's license test), and have never worn glasses. I couldn't get used to the "blind spots" that glasses have.

I had it done back in February, and it was worth it. I have worn glasses for about 10 years and didn't really do well with contacts b/c I couldn't stick my finger in my eye (lol, yes, some kind of phobia!) and I wanted a change. I was terrified the day of the surgery, but my surgeon was great and it was over in about 15 minutes. The next day, my vision was 20/20 and I haven't had any problems yet. Worth every penny and definitely something you should explore-good luck!

I had worn glasses since I was seven years old (that was a loooong time ago) and was extremely nearsighted with astigmatism and dry eyes, so contacts (other than hard ones) were not really an option (I did try a lot of different ones!) I went in to have Lasik done and found out that I had thin retinas, so I opted for RPK (still done with the lazar but on the surface of the eye instead of inside the eye.) It took a lot longer to heal (one week with clear contacts to protect the eye) and my vision took about six months to get to 20/20, but it was soooooo worth it!!! I even had some minor complications about 5 days after the surgery, but would do it again in a heartbeat. I love not being dependent on glasses to be able to function daily!

Congrats on the lasik delcie! I had a yr ago and it was the best decision I ever made! I couldn't be happier. When I first got it I was really nervous b/c my vision would flucate during the day and it seemed so hazy but the dr told me it was the eyes drops I was taking (the really milky one) and sure enough once I could stop using those it improved drastically. Mine did take a few weeks to to improve and each appt I had it got better and better. And I had my last appt a few weeks ago and my vision had even improved since the 3 months before...so even a yr later it can still be getting better.
