Hi! Congratulations!!!
I know the feeling--overwhelmed, too much information to process! I took a few days "off" after my B1 training and didn't stress about anything Zumba for awhile-just tried to relax and let everything sink in.
Please join our Spark Team Zumba Instructors for more instructor- specific advice and support! Its a very positive friendly helpful group!!! (WEBSAM is there too!)
About the loud music playing in your facility--can you ask them to turn it off in the room where you will be teaching?? I think having to compete with another soundtrack would be very distracting and disruptive in a zumba class!!!!

Well, again--congratulations and WELCOME!!!
Please feel free to put your ??'s out there--I can gaurantee that you will get lots of excellent and helpful advice!!

Yes, if the songs are "out there" on itunes, and you've memorized choreo from another instructor, for example, absolutely use it! Your version of the song may sound a bit different. :) I know, MUSH. :)

Thanks!
I have joined zin, although it will be a few days before I can access the Zin boards.
We have several DVDs that we can use in class but I have several favorites (loco, pegate. Pegate mas, sexi movimiento, oye) that is like to be able to use.... Do I need to purchase these songs or are they off limits?

I learned so much in the last 48 hrs that my brain (and legs) feel like mush. Lol

Thank you for your quick response

Congrats! Much info swirling around in your head right now I'd guess!

Ok. Old music - you can use anything you can get your hands on - whether it's itunes, cds. It's just that you can't get old ZIN volumes, which are ZIN covers (cover tracks of original artist songs OR Zumba original songs) alongside the choreography DVDs. However, if you joined ZIN soon you will have more material than you can process!

You can use world music, but you want to make sure you DO stick to the formula, 70/30 rule, and that you are doing what was taught in the workshop. I HIGHLY recommend joining ZIN ASAP.

I hope you don't mean that you want to teach off random music the gym is playing, that just will not work. You will need to be able to assemble a playlist, including a proper warm up, intermittent center section, and cool down/stretch. That was all outlined in your workshop.

A great DVD to buy if you are a ZIN is Tanya B's warm up/cool down dvd/cd set. It's in the ZIN shop.

HEY ALL!!!
So Excited to have completed my B1 and ZA this weekend!
Quick question, I have the understanding that we don't have access to old ZIN dvd's, and therefore are not licensed to use older songs.... but there are some older releases we are allowed to use?

I am pretty confused because I am not sure which old licensed songs we are allowed to use and which ones we aren't?

I believe my ZES said that there were cd's that we can purchase off itunes, that are zumba licensed, does that mean that if we purchase any songs that may have been on an old ZIN release we can use it?

what about if I hadn't registered for ZIN, what music do you use then? I will be working at a big facility that has music playing throughout the building (not sure if this is important....)

ANY information will be greatly appreciated

TIA
