If you go to the licensing workshop, you will have a blast! :) No matter your intentions.
Everyone answered accurately here.
I've been a licensed ZIN member since March 2009 and I only have one little thing to add. And I know it sounds small...but Zumba does not CERTIFY anyone, just so you know it's called a LICENSE. It's crazy I know but there IS a difference. (Cert means you took a test)
My point is, if you want to teach, find a good mentor so you are a better instructor. You don't leave the workshop ready to teach. :) It's tough work teaching, but if you don't want to teach, just go and HAVE A BLAST! :) It's super fun!
WOOOP! and lotsa Zumba Love!

To attend the convention you have to be licensed by Zumba and also be a ZIN member. As a member of the Zumba Instructor Network, you pay $30 a month which entitles you to new choreography every other month. The months you don't receive a ZIN DVD/CD set you get a Mega Mix CD. There are several other benefits to being a ZIN but the music, choreography and convention access are definitely highlights. After I took the B1 training, I knew if I never taught it was still beneficial to take the training because it made me a better student. I finally understood the moves I was just mimicking someone else doing. Good luck in your decision. You need to do what makes sense for you.

I'm trying to decide if I should get my Zumba Certification. I've been going to the classes and absolutely love Zumba. There is a Certs class in June around my area (Philly). The issue I'm having is that there are plenty of great Zumba Instructors/Classes in my area. I don't know if its worth getting the certification if I'm really not going to be able to do anything with it.
I also want to go to the Zumba Convention in Orlando (august) but you have to be an Certified. Please help. Is it worth get the certification with the great possiblity of never becoming an instructor/
