As a certified AFAA fitness instructor, I hope you don't hurt yourself. I say this out of concern for your feet. Zumba is a FITNESS class, and fitness shoes (sneakers) should be worn. I don't allow anyone to take my class who is not wearing shoes...I just hope you don't get hurt. There are some forms of dance class which are okay without shoes, but they are DANCE and not FITNESS.
I hope you are careful and don't hurt yourself. NOT doing Zumba because of an injury would be awful!
:) Best wishes.

I am an owner/Zumba instructor at a Curves. I am wondering if these really work. I will recommend them to my ladies. WE are on carpeting. I have found danskins that work well, not alot of tread and I just bought the Zumba shoes, but the members would like something that would work well. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Everyone! I just got some "slip-on dancers" that I saw in the Z-life magazine. They are designed to slip over your regular sneakers and provide some smoothness on the ball of the foot for pivoting. (Similar to the duct=tape advice others have mentioned. I tried the tape, and it didn't work well for me!). I just tried them over my regular cross trainers for about 5 songs, and they seemed to work pretty well! I still prefer my regualr dance shoes, but these may be worth a try for those who don't have or can't afford special shoes for Zumba . They are at www.Slip-Ons.net. They cost $10.95 ($13.95 w S/H), which may be a bit of a rip-off, though, because all they are is a 4 in length of wide heavy-duty elastic stitched to a 3 in length of wide sturdy ribbon. But worth a look, if you're interested...
