There is actually a scientific math method that uses your height and weight but since I don't know it or own a heart monitor. I just use SP estimates under dance either fast pace like the twist or moderate like disco. You can sort of tell if you gave it a lot or a real lot of umph!
Just don't make the mistake of using someones else calories burned. My friend asked me how much calories I burned in a kicked boxing class (she also takes it) at the time it was 720. Now with my weight loss it is more like 605. Point being she is at least 30lbs lighter. She probably burned no more than 525-550. Way off but I did not realize she was using the it for herself. I just thought she was wondering about me.

As for my workouts, FORGET THE "No pain, No gain." this does not work for me. "I will do it until I'm sore, and then I will soar!"
