Thanks MSKEESH. I went to my Target yesterday to get that the MJ game. But unfortunately they were sold out of Zumba. So I ended up going to Best Buy and getting it for $40. They had just gotten their stock in so they had plenty.

They game is slightly different from a class but I still worked up a great sweat in 20 min. It will be a great filler for when I cant go to Zumba class.

@Dia, FYI. If you have a Target nearby and may want to get additional games or accesorries check your circular...the Target near me has a buy two get one free sale on Wii games. Zumba, Michael Jackson Experience, Wii plus controllers, and other games and select other accessories are part of the deal in my area.

I'll be getting Zumba Fitness for Wii in a few days. Most likely on Tuesday or Wednesday once I have a chance to get it from Walmart. I've never done Zumba before, but I think I'll like it. I've always loved dancing and I've been looking for a fun way to burn calories that does not involve me getting into a car and going to a gym (I don't have a car yet). I can't wait to get started!! emoticon

LOVE the Wii zumba fitness! It is so fun and motivational because you want to master the steps. It reminds me of being in a club lol! I love watching the kids do it too. They have 2 left feet as well and even though they don't look like they are dancing they are still moving around and getting exercise! Love to do this w/them when it rains! This Wii game is definately worth checking out and/or buying.

I have Zumba for Wii too and also love it! There is an instructional section to learn the steps, but the thing I love about Zumba is as long as you are moving and keeping your pace up you are burning crazy calories!

I say give it a shot, and dance like no one's watching emoticon emoticon

I just went and bought Zumba for the wii and I LOVE it!! What I like about it is that Im constantly trying to beat my score, and I dont have to do it in front of people (uugg). I bought a few extra Zumba belly bands (that hold the remote) and now my daughters can play with me!! Its alot of fun. And there is a calendar that you can customize which I like. Its always keeping track of the stuff that I do which is super helpful for me. Good luck to you :)

Looking for a little info. I have two left feet when it comes to doing Zumba. I have a couple of the DVD's that I kept as the free gift when I order Zumba and then returned it because I got discouraged.

So I've been REtrying to Zumba with that DVD. I sweat because of all the movement. I don't feel like I'm doing anything with my Abs when I'm doing the moves, is that because I'm so full of fat that I don't feel it, or does it matter if I feel it working, as long as I'm moving and trying to do the moves, will I still get the benefit.

Have been considering getting the Zumba for Wii and wondered if that would help me improve my steps, if it has some sort of tracking on it that lets you know if you do the step correctly or not.

I tried a Zumba beginner class and was so lost that I didn't even work up a sweat at that one, so I never went back. Bad part of living in a small town, you get really embarrassed because of all the skinny people you know there that are doing it all the right way and you look ridiculous. Very discouraging.

Any suggestions or helpful hints?

Just started the Wii Zumba this week and I love it!! So much fun and I like that you have a way to rank your progress by your scores. Glad I bought it!!
As far as tracking it on Spark, just go to add cardio and do a search. It is listed as Cardio Dancing (including aerobic dance, Zumba, Hip Hop HUSTLE).
I need to pull out my polar HR monitor and see how close it is. But that is what I've been using for now.
Have a great week everyone.

I've only done a little on the Zumba Wii because I'd been doing so much in the classes but I like it better than the DVDs so far. Mostly because I push myself harder to score better and stay in the green but on the DVDs I can slack and nothing's there to call me on my crap.

60 min for the zumbathon.

Does anyone know if there is a place that I can find calories burned for each level/class on the game?

I am new to Zumba. I have ordered the DVD's but they will not be here until mid-February. I was not sure the Wii Zumba would really a workout when I looked at the box. Is the animation easy to follow? The box just looked like it would not be worth it. For those that own both the DVD's and the Wii - which do you prefer?

Really glad to hear the reviews. I asked for the Zumba Wii for Christmas... Santa wasn't nice though. I've been waiting for it go on sale a little before getting it. I might not wait now- I want to go get it now! Also, has anyone tried Just Dance for Wii- it's alot of fun too if you do the full verision of the songs. I was amazed at how sweaty I was after "Girls just wanna have fun". =)

I do ZUMBA at the "Y" and love it so much that I asked for ZUMBA for my Wii for Christmas. I love it too. I have not lost a lot of weight with either yet but have lost inches. I've gone from a size 20 pants to size 16.

If anyone finds out how to track it on sparks please let me know. emoticon

Love the Wii Zumba - Bought it last week. I also attend classes regularly in the area (since April 2010) and have the Zumba dvds. For my money, classes are always the best -- You just cant beat the friendships to be made with others. However, a close second is the Wii Zumba! Definitely can sweat during this workout. I did a 20 minute workout and scored 660. And I think the dvd's are good too, but not quite the same intensity of workout!

I usually do the beginner class - there are two and I do both to have a 40 minute workout. I have a bad knee right now that will not let me do the jumps or turns like I want but I have been scoring between 350-380 depending on the day. I rearranged my bedroom yesterday just to have more room to Zumba! I have tried the intermediate class and that is pretty good too - just not ready for it! My youngest son outdid my score and blew me away!He scored over 500 - I told him when I lose more weight to watch out - he will be in trouble. LOL I do the Zumba every day! It is great. My DVDs are to be here within the week.

Hi Kaci,
Good luck with the Zumba dvds. I hope you get them soon. I bet you and your kids will have a lot of fun with them. I am anxious to find out which you like better.
Which Zumba part are you doing on the Wii? I did a few of the 'learn the steps' but other then that the only one that I have done is the 20 minute beginners in the class session. Today I must admit I was not as anxious to get started as other days but I feel better having exercised with the Zumba. There will be days like that in all things I guess. Yesterday I scored 500 but today only about 455. I don't think the system keeps track of your scores though.

With Zumba Wii you place the Wii controller in a velcro belt pouch that comes with the Zumba game (game was $40) so that you can dance completely hands free. It's really cool though I am not sure how accurate it is on recording how closely you follow the instructor. It tells me that I am doing great even though I know beyond doubt I am falling far behind. It doesn't matter because I know by my sweat that I am still getting a good work out. I also have the Wii fit Plus ( about $100). It comes with a fitness board and also uses the controllers when you are exercising. I like using both Wii fitness programs although the Wii little voice on the Wii Fit that use to call me obese when tracking my weight began to annoy me greatly. emoticon
I still plan on using both Wii programs for some of the times that I exercise. I want to use other things as well such as a stability ball or the power of a simple hike with my dogs in a nearby bird sanctuary so that I don't become bored. I want to Zumba at least three times a week and use the Wii fit at least 10 minutes or more three times a week as well. The Wii fit is good about keeping track of my weight too.
I am thinking about getting the DVD's too with those Zumba sticks. I will probably use the DVD's as an incentive for one of my long term goals so that I can save money for them.

I got the DVD's a few weeks ago and am surprised at how much I like them as I have always been a TERRIBLE dancer.

I've been thinking about getting a Wii system so that I could get Wii Fit for my home. So now I am wondering about the Wii Zumba. Would I buy the same basic Wii system to get both the Wii Fit program and also the Wii Zumba program? Or would that require 2 different Wii platforms?

I'm not technologically savy enough to know that -- and I don't want to spend a fortune by 2 different whole systems to run both programs. Will I have to choose or will one "machine" run both programs?

I notice how different I feel just by working out with them. The one thing that I think is neat is that even after working for 40 minutes I am not sore or stiff the next day. It is really great.

Zumba is a great workout! I haven't played the game yet but I did get a chance to see it - and it is going to be intense!

Sunshine, Zumba is a high-intensity cardio workout! Full out Zumba is just that! Have fun and rock it out sister!

I have a class I teach at a skating rink and the lights get darker there so a lot of people really like that. Many people share your feelings. :) It's all good!

Hi everyone I am new to the team and brand new to Zumba as well. Today I got the Wii Zumba Fitness and tried my first Zumba dance steps. WOW - what an incredible workout !!! I didn't realize how desperately out of shape that I am . Ten minutes of Zumba and my heart is pounding in my ears and the sweat is pouring down my back! I was born with a bone disease that limits my range of motion, I seem to have always had two clumsy left feet and I have had absolutely no sense of rhythm. However, I hope that I may have found an exercise I can actually enjoy and one that allows me to dance in the comfort of my home like I have always dreamed of but have always been afraid to try because of my embarrassing awkwardness.
Has anyone else had the opportunity to try the new Wii Zumba ?
