I don't have any turbo jams, but from what I've seen they'd be closer to hi/lo than kickboxing IMO.

I'm using the journal entries under the planner to log my workouts. For strength workouts, I usually try to choose the exercises done in the vids or enter my own. Cardio hasn't been an issue for me cause I pretty much walk, kickbox, stationary bike, step, or Hi/Lo and use the SP numbers. I don't have a HRM, so the only thing I see as giving me grief when figuring will be rebounding to Cardio Coach. I think the last time I put in two activities: one for steady state and one for the intervals. I'll have to go look...

I am doing Turbo Jams and will put them in as aerobics, high or low depending on how hard I workout that day.

That's good to know, thanks -- I had the same question about how to record exercise.

Can anyone recommend a website or a formula for figuring out calories burned in a workout? My HRM does not have a calorie function.

Also, are there any Turbo Jammers here? I noticed on a Turbo Jam group here at SparkPeople they were entering one or their workouts as "kickboxing," but it seems to me it's more like "low-impact aerobics," especially for me since I don't do a lot of jumping with it.

If you know how many calories you're burning during a workout (like, you have a HRM with calorie count) you can manually enter the activity, time and calories on the "add cardio" window. You can even save the activity as one of your favorites. I don't know how many favorites you're allowed to have (I have a long list of foods going already :)) but I would think you can list the titles of frequently-done videos, e.g. "Firm Strength", as activities and then the fitness tracker can double as a video log.

Thanks,
I will just do my cardio since it looks like that is plenty enough exercise for these boards to burn what I need to.

Beth's right. It's just cardio that counts for calorie burn at SP. I'm possibly the only human alive who hasn't done P90, but ... could you count it as circuit training? That does count as cardio. I count my Firm tapes as circuit workouts, if I decide I actually worked hard enough.

You can read more about me here, if you want (although I don''t know why you would!): http://perlesdelasagesse.blogspot.com.

Hi Rhonda! I don't think calories burned through strength training are tracked here at SP. Just the cardio cals.

I can figure out the cardio portion but how to you figure out the strength workouts. I do P90X workouts and the exercises used are not really listed. Do I just calculate it on my own and not put it in since it says I need to burn 327 calories a week to lose and right now I am over that just in my cardio.

Just wondering how others did this part.

Thanks
Rhonda
