emoticon ...........According to DD, she has not quit planning for next month and wanted to take those ribbons to school. However, Dad printed out a picture for her to take to school plus a few of her jumps.

Have a good one!

emoticon and hope " Mothers Day " was a big surprise for you as it ws for me!

Had a wet Saturday for the Equestrian Event. it rained and pour the whole time. They did halt the event for 15 mins. as lightening was spotted in the distance. Yep those kids rode the whole time in the rain. For the first vent of the Season, Princess an Clover came through with Flying. She brought home: 5 First Place, 1 Second Place and an over all the day the Grand Champion. Not bad for her 2nd year of competition and the third year she has been riding.

Guess you could save, time well spent!

Snuzie...you've hit the nail on the head. His days when he is helpful are way lower than the days he sits in his recliner and barks out orders that unless they are things he truly can not do, my hearing is turned off anymore.

I will be leaving late Thursday night to head up in Ohio. Princess has competition this Saturday, not sure if I will be taking my Laptop at this time. Would appreciate it if you could keep track of Warriors and C.Qs. for me! His oldest son will be around for him while I'm gone. Take care of yourself. By they way, how's the new car?

Oh, Michele, I'm so sorry. It has to be so hard for you! Maybe for your health, he should go into a nursing home? It sounds like he doesn't care one way or the other. Is he just waiting to die? I know some people just give up, and they can't stand not being able to care for themselves or having to rely on someone else for things. They feel like a burden, and so they become more of a burden in a way. it's a sad situation.

2012 Broken hip then, 2013 Snapped his right Femur. Sunshine is the Vit. D vitamin, so 10 mins. a day helps the bone continue to strengthen. Even with those rods in place he's still afraid of falling. Mentally, believe there is some early dementia going on with him. As well as the will to improve on his present condition. Don't think he's quit at Nursing home material as yet, but last November with the Heart Attack was the result of caregiving for almost 2 years at that time - for someone who does not care if he lives or passes on. The Health World would call him, noncompliant.

What I do, anymore just to survive for myself.....

What do you mean for his broken bones? I don't remember you saying anything about him getting injured, did I just miss that?

I've been smoke-free for six days!! That's great for me. I recently discovered Quitnet.com and am lurking around there every day, reading posts, testimonials, profiles, info about withdrawal symptoms, ways to deal with the craves, going in the chat room. There's SO MUCH on there to draw from to help along quitting for good!! The main thing that got my attention was how a large number of people on there kept on smoking for YEARS even after they lost a dear one from a smoking related disease or, even, themselves being diagnosed with beginning stages of emphysema or COPD!! That's how hard it is to quit, but it can be done, I'm convinced. Bottom line, I'm going on Quitnet every day and also armed with the knowledge that a crave lasts only minutes!!

In Spring in Summer, when that craving hits I would 1. take a brisk walk, 2. grab a lollipop, fruit, or sugar free pickles an snack. Winter: I have gone out if possible and moved away the snow & cleaned off the car, called a friend, texted my girls, baked a cake, or any thing that kept my hands busy. Many times I will write in my Journal, Spark some, write a friend I have not seen for a while, knit, clean the house or read a book.

Those are the crave busters I used and for me they worked. Hope you can find something here that may work for you.

Hey all! So, technically I like to say that I quit smoking a week and a half ago- although I have had a few cigs since then. I get really hard and down on myself when I do smoke- I think about how terrible it makes me feel, and then how disappointed I am in myself.

What do you do when the craving strikes and you just want to get through and past it?

I personally need to have some suggestions so that I can get through all of this and actually be able to say that I am SMOKE FREE!!
