Welcome back.Sorry about the troubles you had. Hope you are doing okay.

I would also like to see the team more active, but I don't know what would get it there. Do you have any more ideas? I had lost my Blue in Dec 2011 at 15 due to an auto-immune disease, then Venture (my red boy) in Dec 2012 at 16 due t o cancer. I got Cassie from a breeder friend in January 2013 after I called her to ask about bloodlines and what would be good for something I wanted to do. Of course, didn't have the money to get a new dog then, even a rescue, but she had to cut down on her dogs due to a move to city life (well, small town) and gave Cassie to me. Cassie is a very sweet 5-year-old who had been through a couple homes and her show career.

Sorry I have not been active guys. Went through a death of my mom in 2012 and only a week later was told husband wanted a divorce. Divorced in Jan of 2013 and lost my Lacy (AuCaDog) a few months later. Would still like to see this team be more active.

That sounds good to teach them something. For Cassie I think I have to start with something easy, though. She is having a little trouble with "sit" so far. She is getting it some, but I still have to push on her butt a little bit. Maybe "heel" would be easier for her since she would be following a hand with some treats in it. I think that is how they did the "Choose to Heel" program, but I am not sure. I am going to try to keep writing a friend who went through that and find out.

My notifications are set so that I SHOULD be getting the notices, but I don't unless I have posted in that topic. Maybe others are having problems with that, too;. I think mostly it is the ISP I have that is blocking things so that I don't get the notifications, but I don't know why it would just block the new topics and not the ones where I have posted before. That doesn't make sense to me. Maybe I can ask the tech support on here. I have tried resetting everything, but it doesn't seem to work.

I think challenges are a good thing.
But, something different to the norm.

Could we set up something fun and dog related? Like teach a new trick or something? I'm having getting Flamey learning tricks (I think she's just stubborn) but I taught my old housemates dog so many. I don't think Flame would look quite as cute as him being a ballerina though.

Let me think about it. I think the fact that the group is hidden away because we are a subset of the dog community.

Are your settings set up so that you don't get notified with a new topic?

I'd like to see lots of activity so I can get to know more people:D

Anne, do you have any ideas that might get the team more active? It has been pretty dead. I am not good at coming up with ideas and have problems getting notifications, so i miss when someone comes up with a new topic. I would like to see more activity on here, though.

I stumbled upon you by accident and was quite excited to do so.
I've had my heeler for about 3 months and it's great to find a bunch of people who know what it's like to have one!

I'll have to think about that one, Susan. There are probably things that are unique to herding dogs that people might have questions about (like how to get them to stop heeling you when you are walking through the house or taking them for a walk).

Since the first of the year we've had four new members. While I realize there are only about eight of us who are active, I'm open to suggestions on anything to add to the team to make it more active.

Ideas for forum posts, challenges, etc.
