Oh, I have to get really busy with the house and get rid of the carpet. I called a friend today to ask her what lines she thought would be good for therapy dogs and she has offered me one of her dogs. This is a champion that they were actually planning to shoow for her Grand Championship, so it may be that I will meet her so she and her daughter can take her to some shows, but I can do the obedience and stuff myself. She said I can do obedience or agility with her if I want to. I do not know if she will put it as I co-own her or how that works out, but that was really ashock. She said this girl is really friendly and she thinks she would make a good therapy dog.

I have three of my own ACD's and picked up a foster yesterday. Jack (blue) is my old man at 13, Mae Mae (red) will be 3 this Oct and Smokey Bones (blue) will be 2 in July. My foster Scarlet (red) is about 4-5 yrs old and such a sweet girl. We'll be starting our walks today since she needs just a little leash training but seems to know basic commands.

The women who bore me is no longer alive, but I seem to be her daughter in increasingly profound ways. - Johnetta B. Cole

Would a green hot sauce mixed with water work? I don't know if that would stain or not like a red one would. I know that the expensive Bitter Apple doesn't do a thing. Or maybe the stuff they have to keep horses from chewing off their bandages? I never tried that stuff even for Fancy, so I don't know how well it works. Be careful what you put that hot sauce on, though emoticon .

Lorelai had another good night in her "building" crate. She spent quite a bit of time outside since it was warmer. I put laundry away (from a week ago), changed the sheets, and did some scrapping. DH saw an old friend yesterday. When he showed him his hands he said "What did you get ... a Blue Heeler?" I've been putting hot pepper (the kind you put on pizza, etc.) in a cup with olive oil, then I put it on my hands and that has really helped from her biting my hands. Wish they made a spray for my clothes and shoes

We decided to go ahead and bring in the crate (we call it her house) for Lorelai. DH has had in the shop for a while so she could get use to it. It's in the dining room, and I turned on my "noise maker" (one of those gadgets that has several different noises like sea, rain, etc.). She likes the rain. We took her food and water up at 5PM, and she slept from 9PM until 4AM with no accidents! That means peaceful sleep for me, and I did get a good night's rest.

Lorelai seems to have this internal clock and wakes up at 4:30 every morning to get up. We had to get her a larger box yesterday, but I think we're going to have to set it on it's side and hope that she'll come to my side of the bed to wake me up when she needs to potty, which is usually around 3AM; which makes it odd that she wants to get up at 4:30. When she does, she usually ends up going back to sleep, but it does give me time to do some scrapping and sparking.

Mine are all digital, and I started in 2009. I'm a bit of an addict though. I just do it for fun and haven't ever made a book.

I like that Susan. I wish I could figure out how to do those things. I have a ton of photos from the dogs and horses, but haven't figured out how to get them into a nice memory book.

I just finished participating in what is called a "Progressive Scrap Challenge" where we're given one step each day for five days until the scrap page is finished. I won't know how I did in the challenge until tomorrow.

That's amazing about the dog. I know cats are that way in nursing homes when people are sick. So sorry they won't let you be a foster parent.

Susan, there is a lady in Arizona who has ACD therapy dogs. She is the one who I got a packagea on training them from. I think she has had at least 4 and just got a new puppy to raise as one (that means she might show him first).. Her first one used to take off down the hall in the hospital whenever someone was going to have a seizure or anything, which worried them at first, but I think she saved a few lives. A lady here has one that is therapy just for anxiety. He is a rescue that I transported from Sterling back to Aurora. She (I think) snd her brother had been rescued in Nebraska.

I tried to do volunteer work at a place here that rescues and trains dogs for therapy for veterans with PTSD, but they have courses you have to take and every time I asked about them they were too full. I have also volunteered to be a foster, but the place won't even talk to me about it. I don't know any of those people, so I don't know what is wrong with me that they won't have anything to do with me.

Had a busy day yesterday. DH went to look at the doors and they were junk, so brought home some brackets that we added to the outside and the door works perfectly! Did some grocery shopping, PetSmart for dog food (big bag now) and cat liter, and got in some time to vacuum and mop floors. Also did some laundry.
Today it's cloudy and rainy so we're going to catch up on last seasons JUSTIFIED because the new season has started. We watched it last season, but want to watch it again.
I have a video of Lorelai in the mornings that I'll upload today hopefully.

I never thought of an ACD (especially a Heeler) being a therapy dog. Good luck with finding the right one.

She sounds like a lot of fun. She doesn't know she is being a little devil, she is just having fun.

I am sure missing my ACDs. Does anyone know what I need to be looking for to get one that would make a good therapy dog? I have something somewhere for training them (from a lady that evaluates for one of the Therapy Dog associations) and will have to get looking for it so I don't accidentally throw it away. Orzo has been sitting on my lap and once in a while he plays with the toys I got him, but mostly he sleeps. I love the little boy, but I want my ACDs back.

Lorelai weighs 12.6lbs now, at 10 weeks old. She got her 2nd set of shots yesterday evening, and for some reason is a little emoticon today ... full of piss & vinegar!

I noticed that Farmers Insurance has an ACD in one of their ads on home insurance. The guy is talking about different things you might need coverage on or something and says something about dogs sometimes bite and it goes to the dog grabbing his pant leg. Well, what does he expect? They are heelers, after all, and he needed to be herded (at least in his mind).

I am hoping that eventually I can get a dog suitable for therapy and the ACD is what I will look at again, even if my friend's wife says I cannot get one of them again. Of course, she is one who will telll me everything I need to do. She told me I have to teach them to "heel" like I don't know anything about that. I have only had 2 dogs that weren't trained to heel.

Hope everyone is having a Happy New Year. I am just watching the one football game that you can get without cable or sattelite and my cat, Orzo, is sleeping on the dog bed (his second favorite place to sleep).

I hope everyone had a safe and Merry Christmas. I can hardly believe there were tornadoes yesterday. If anyone of you were in that area, I hope you're safe.
We didn't get as much snow as they said, not even an inch, but Lorelai absolutely loves it!
