Yes, the number one reason is to improve my health. But interestingly enough, losing weight and getting in shape are just intermediate steps to improving my outlook and how I feel about myself. If I'm aiming for a "better self" – I'm investing in me. It fortifies my belief in myself and what I can accomplish with the right perspective and goals. So perhaps the real reason is to keep my perspective and fortify a positive and constructive course through life.
