My thoughts are, if it's exercise in a pool, it's cardio. Most people say that 30 minutes is a minimum for benefit, but I've heard otherwise for pool activity. I'm not sure that just "playing" in a pool counts, as the activity is less continuous.
I overcame my spiritual obesity, now for the physical!
My pagan discussion group does a monthly potluck. Last night, we enjoyed chicken 3 ways, some really amazing sweet red pepper chili, two delicious batches of hummus, and many other goodies as we discussed Sacrifice. Many lovely points were brought up - but I digress. The home that most regularly hosts is equipped with a wonderfully private backyard, and an *amazing* salt water pool. After the kids were upstairs, squared away with a movie, nearly every adult in attendance stripped down, and it was Adult Swim in the pool!
To be clear, I'm not actually asking if this activity counts as cardiovascular exercise. I just wanted to share how wonderful it feels to have a large, supportive local group of like-minded(ish) folks who get together to share food and thoughts and company. There's always a wonderful sense of community and clarity when we get together - even if we don't all agree on exactly what counts as sacrifice! I wish that I could share this community with everyone out there who needs or wants for it. It is an inimitable stabilizer in my life!
