A poppet to represent you that a loved one could hold on to during your surgery and surround with loving, healing, reassuring energy would work well-any sympathetic links would help, and being that a loved one or close friend would already have a strong connection with you would make it an easy success.

Hello dear! For protection/healing maybe look into deities you resonate with if you work within a particular pantheon or sect. They don't always "have" to be healing/meidcal deities (although that does help speed the process along). If not, I definitely recommend chakra work. That has worked well for me when I was having reproductive organ issues. Most importantly, no matter what you do as far as ritual or magic, you need to stay positive and continue to eat healthy. A good attitude and healthy food go a long way on the road to recovery. Stay well friend.

Thanks all, I ended up doing a bit of visualization, wish fulfillment and candle magics. Also, afterwards some pagan friends came over and did some healing rituals over me. They will be coming back soon to do more. I'm healing mostly on schedule although my next surgery may be postponed a week. We will see. Please keep lighting candles for my swift and successful healing. If you need more specifics for your magic, it is genital and urinary tract healing that is needed.
This may be a little late, but I would tailor ritual to the type of surgery. If you're having something removed, make peace with it and do a ritual to let that part of you go, using whatever symbolism or tools you would normally use in your practice. If you're having something repaired, viualize the area being whole and as the surgery is intended to make it. If you're having something to fix a body function, visualize the anatomy in working order, study an anatomy book or websites if you find visualization helpful but are unfamiliar with structure and function. If you use chakra techniques or other forms of energy work, incorporate those that would apply close to the body part you are having the surgery on, or have friends lay hands on you. Anesthesia is scary, but I would visualize a protective aura around myself and fill the room with light and successful intent right before they put you under, if possible. Go to sleep with the confidence that all will be well when you awaken.

I'm very new to wicca so no help on the spell. My suggestion however would be to include all of the people who will help to care for you. I have always felt surrounded by positive energy when patients included the surgical team in there prayers. Feel free to send private mail if you want to know more about anesthesia.
Light, love and trust.
I am in my happy place. My happy place is in my magical circle. ANYONE trying to enter my happy place uninvited will be turned into a toad.
I don't know any official rituals. But I would do a little writing first, about anything on my mind and heart lately. Then I would light some candles and some incense, put on some nice Adam Hurst music, and meditate. I'd try to visualize myself being surrounded by layers of protective white light. Also, something helpful might be to choose a crystal or other object and concentrate on channeling good energy and strength into it. You could bring it with you on surgery day.

thanks :) I would appreciate any positive thoughts and candles lit. There's really good success rate with the surgeries I'm having and the 2 surgeons working together have a 3% complication rate (that's phenomenal) but it's still nerve wracking to go under anesthesia and all that. I'll be in the hospital and on heavy pain meds for the first few days, so you may not hear from me much next week.
First post! I didn't see any answers here, so I wanted you to know the post got out. Right now I don't have any answers for you, but I'll keep a candle going for you anyhow. Sometimes my brain works, sometimes it doesn't, but my heart is always in working order.
I overcame my spiritual obesity, now for the physical!

I am planning to do some rituals surrounding my upcoming surgery. Any suggestions on how best to do protection rituals prior to surgery? I was thinking of shaving my head the rest of the way and letting pagan friends draw protective symbols on me. They won't be operating on my head so it's not like the pen will be anywhere in the way.
What rituals do you do to boost immunity and healing or protect you/keep you safe during surgery?
