I'm late responding to this thread because my internet was down but it helped me accomplish what we had planned for Earth Day :-) We used no electricity for the day - no cell phones, lights in the house, computers, tv, etc. We did have to use the car to go to work, but we carpooled for the day to save gas. I also went on a walk down our road and picked up trash/recyclables. It's amazing and very sad how much junk people just toss out their windows!
Willowblast - your weekend sounds like it was a ton of fun! Wish there were things like that in my area, but not too many witches around here.

I am cleaning up around my house, and tonight when I take my 3 walk I am going to pick up any garbage I see and bring it home to dispose of properly

Not sure exactly what we will be doing. WHen my oldest was younger, his b-day party was at a park that had Earth Day festivities. Worked well for me because I could incorporate what they had going on with his party. I plan on picking up trash in the woods, but doing that regardless of Earth Day. I'm looking (this morning I was actually) for kid friendly things to do with my 4 year old.
They do similar activities here too, Jewitch...I usually take care of my neighborhood and clean up around the block area.

Willowblast, that sounds awesome. Mine doesn't quite sound so earthdayish, but we are going to the casino to pick up a free "Klean Kanteen". It's my favorite brand to drink out of so I figured why not hahaha!

Where I live there are a bunch of groups that get together and do clean up around the waterways.

The area I live in has an "Earth Day Celebration" which occasionally has some good vendors but is more like a bad craft fair/farmer's market/420 event and... that's just not the scene I want to take my family to. So, probably nothing.

What, if anything, are some of you doing to celebrate Earth Day?
My youngest daughter and I are off to Camp Gaea for some camping and workshops with our fellow Witches Meet-up group members. Everyone who is attending is so excited. It is the first camp out at Gaea of the season with many more to come, I am sure. We are having a solar cooking demo, going to learn how to build a solar panel, have a reduce, reuse and recycle rummage sale, an art expo, scavenger hunt, kids program, along with other fun activities. We are celebrating this weekend, April 16-18. I can't wait!! Fire circle, drumming, dancing and fellow pagans, what more could one ask for?
Live well, play hard and enjoy life. It really is too short.
