I am sure things would work out for the best. Allergy test can be such a bummer. Brightest blessings and warm hugs.

There is a new type of test for allergies where they take some blood. A friend of mine had it done here in the states, don't know if they have it there (?). The Dr's here told her that the prick test could leave residue in her system that might cause her other problems.
I don't know how accurate any of them are really. I hope they can find you something to give you relief, I've seen how miserable allergies can be. Will send healing thoughts your way.

Thanks you guys!

Well they did a prick test today but it wasn't accurate because I was still taking my medications and you're supposed to be off of them for one week at least before a prick test. Now the allergist wants me to wait until Autumn to have another one. Ugh. I'm supposed to keep a journal every day and say what my symptoms are, how I feel, etc. until then and at that point, the allergist and I will decide upon a plan of action. He seems to be under the impression that right now it's the Birch pollen I'm reacting too. I did test positive for Birch back in the States so at least I know what's giving me grief right now. He says the birch pollen should be over pretty soon though.

Good luck, Heather. I have never dealt with foreign doctors, the domestic ones are bad enough.

I don't think you should ever be afraid of just asking/telling a doctor what it is you would like to have done. I don't know what medications are approved or readily available in Germany, but just tell him what you've taken before and that it's helped you. If he can't get you that medication, perhaps there's something similar. It should be fine.

I hope you get to feeling better.

Ok so I'm a teensy bit nervous about my upcoming allergist appointment next week. I really need it. But most of the other spouses have told me that German doctors don't view allergies like we do in the States and that most likely they will tell me that there isn't anything wrong with me or that they can't do anything for me. I really really really don't want that to happen because I am completely miserable. My head is pounding, I can't breathe through my nose and my eyes are all red and itchy. I currently take four medications a day to help with my allergies and it's not helping. It only helped in the States in conjunction with the allergy shots.

So I'm a teensy bit nervous about this appointment. I am hoping it will go well and I can get back on allergy shots.

I just had to talk about it somewhere. lol
