Lindie, hope you had a good work day---glad you are ready for Feb.
Betsy, man, that superintendent needed to be fussed at. We might get some of your snow in the morning---I am kind of hoping to get a delay---but the ground will probably be too warm for much sticking after yesterday's temps.
Dianne, how did the visit go? I know it is still pretty bad up there.
I am going to start the new chat so please go there.

Betsy--my folks were shoveling all day yesterday. Hope it isn't too bad for you today.

I am getting back on track but I admit to being hungry! Need to dig out the carrots and munch on those! We are planning to go see adopted grandma today--haven't been since before Christmas. We'll also see one of the devastated shore towns--I have avoided the area.

Dianne, you are SO good at getting back on track, you will be fine! I am going to get super serious again after our event next Thursday evening. PT is letting me try home exercises on my own so I am hoping after a month I can get back to the gym, it should be rid of flu germs by then!

Cathy, we got some of that wind AND 8 inches of snow yesterday. DH's superintendent really caught grief for not cancelling school. It looked like today could be a cancellation for cold but it is only 8 below with the wind chill so that doesn't warrant it.

Lindie, interesting how different and yet similar your taxes are. Terri, we usually get money back but since Steven isn't in school and Carolyn is completely on her own now, we shall see what happens with the new tax laws. Terri, it is good to hear from you. I probably said this before but it is too bad we can't get our little girls together to play.

Corbin's 20 minute nap is over so it is time to get him and go back to my "dungeon." emoticon Yes, that is the emoticon, i wanted, it is full of drama down there today!

Certainly glad to see the end of January, not that we get winter like everyone else but it does get dark like elsewhere so it will be nice to see it staying light longer in FEB - ready for the declutter challenges and am working on my new life pattern for FEB too.

Have a good day all and talk with you later.

It was windy last night and still is---trash all over the street and some trash cans are there, too. Today is our pick-up day so that is why---everyone puts their trash out on Wednesday night in my area---will be a mess to clean up later.
Finally got all my tax forms in so guess I will bite the bullet and do them soon to see how bad it will be. Like Terry, I am hoping we get something back, too.
Terri, glad to see you are caught up with us---LOL---we have missed you and wondered about your son.
Today's challenge is to make a new list for February---gee---it starts tomorrow----make sure to include lots of decluttering so you can mark it off your list this month. And don't forget to include some fun things---we have to have some fun, too.
Have a good day!

Great to hear from you, Terri. Prayers for DS as they figure out what is going on!!

I got out to dinner with my friends last night. Had a wonderful visit but several are still sick so didn't come. I really overate yesterday so off to the gym this AM and back on good portion control!

It was VERY windy here last night--you could really hear the wind and I see things have been pushed around a bit.

Catch you all later--off to the gym!

Hurray! I finally got all caught up with you guys. Now I'll have to go and look at Cathy's pictures so I can see the purple dress and silver shoes.

We have Jasmine every day and have had a couple of others when they stayed home from school with various ailments. So far, we haven't caught anything.

Steve has been busy and a bee with different projects, we've been to the coast to shop a couple of times and to help DS--but have mostly been staying home. We still haven't had a paycheck, but expect to see one soon after the 1st. We're still be really conservative until we get a feel for our new financial situation.

DS1 had an MRI to look at his brain re: the seizure. They don't expect to find anything but we haven't heard from the neurologist yet. DMV got the info from the Dr. and will have a hearing to decide whether or not to pull his driver's license, but probably won't unless he has another one. He needs to have another MRI of his spine to see what is causing the terrible pain in his arms. He can't sit, stand, lay down, or get comfortable to sleep without medication and he hates that. We aren't big pill poppers in our family--would rather just find out what the problem is and fix it--so he's having a hard time with all of it.

We did out taxes last week and filed them online. The state accepted our return but apparently the IRS doesn't turn on their computer to accept e-filed returns until the 30th, so we'll probably get a notification tomorrow as to whether they're accepting our federal return or not. We are getting a little bit back, but it's less than a 1/3 of last year. I suspect that it will be worse than that next year, so we'd better make sure we have something saved in case we have to pay.

Betsy, they don't care if you let them keep your money a while longer. I've been as late as October before--but have gotten a lot better about it now that the kids are grown and I'm not running in 20 directions at once.

I've got to head to bed but will try not to be such a stranger.

Taxes here are simple for me, I get my T4 from work, then my form for RRSP contributions/withdrawals and then just do my taxes. No point in claiming any medical as I make too much and it would never count anyway.

I can use a tax package online to do mine and then I can submit it online too as Canada Revenue Agency gets a copy of all forms issued.

Hope everyone had a great day ...

Had a great evening with friends from the class of 2008--at least, the moms! Enjoyed some wine (someone else was driving) and a very nice meal.

Wind is starting to pick up here in NJ--hope everyone will stay safe!

I had my little kindergarten friend today--we did a gingerbread house from a kit. She had a ball and DD2 and I helped. That went home with them at 4:30. We also watched part of a video--after spending some time outside without coats--odd day for January!

And my folks are snowed in -- they could get out if they needed to but lots of snow.

Cathy--I hope you get to swim tonight--I'd like that class, too--at least in the winter.

I have started my part of the taxes--I list the deductions and make that listing.

I hope I get a refund, too---sure could use it---but we are not claiming Michael on our taxes this year---we could but with the MD taxes, he needs the deduction---it is not good to live in one state and work in another---esp. MD as we have high county taxes along with the state.
Betsy, I did alright in the heels but that long would not have---and I will probably just wear the flats to the next wedding---LOL If your dd is taking students, that is how she is getting the free trip---that is why several teachers at school do it. Will that be this year or next?
Dianne, the way you are going, I am sure you will be---you have your dad's genes anyhow.
Hoping the thunderstorms coming in will hold off til after my water aerobics---guess if stormy I won't go as we can't get in with lightning---which will be a bummer since I missed Monday.
It is super warm in the classroom I am in right now. And I wore spring like clothes to work---but tomorrow I will probably have to go back to sweaters.

Hi from NJ! It is 64 degrees--I have windows and doors open to change out the air! I got to my class (30 minutes) and then had a meeting with friends about a money maker for work. Looks like a weekend in April will be donated to work again! LOL

I was very bad--had a Panera cinnamon roll--should have not eaten it--it wasn't "wonderful" but I can't throw food away. Soon go to get my favorite 5 year old--we will decorate a gingerbread house today. And then I'll send it home with her!!

Saw the WI weather--I went to UW-Baraboo/Sauk County so follow them on FB--and they are closed. I expect my dad is playing with his snow pusher or snow blower. I hope I can do that at 79!

Yes Cathy, I did notice the silver shoes and I agree that it was a great idea to wear them for the reception. I probably would have worn them for the wedding too!January did fly by and since February is shorter I am sure it will as well. I don't mind because that means we are closer to spring and a few months later..our trip! DD1 is possibly getting a free trip to Paris and finds out details on February 4. Once that is over we can lock in our dates and they will be changed for NOTHING short of a major emergency.

The weather yesterday was awful in the morning, gorgeous in the afternoon as far as temperatures go and turned into a winter storm overnight. It is snowing right now and DH said it took him twice as long to get to school this morning. Later today the wind is supposed to pick up and cause drifting so there's a slight chance for an early release. tomorrow the wind chill's to drop to 30 below again so we are covering it all in just one week! Cashton's dad's school is closed but he had a lot of work to catch up on so he brought him anyway.

Lindie, do you have to submit your taxes in Canada by April 15th like we do here in the US? Since I am self employed my taxes are complicated and I can decide if I want to zero out ( great for school loans) OR claim every penny without deductions ( great for getting any other loan.) The new tax laws are going to take a chunk out of what we might get back so I am worried about that because that is what covers my low income in the summer. We could skip Europe and there would be no problem but you only live once and we are GOING, we'll find a way!

Kate, DD1's college roommate is going to spend the night with us tonight and I am going to make a beef stew with potatoes, sweet potatoes and carrots. All the peeling and chopping is time consuming so I better get going. emoticon

I liked that it had a high enough neckline that I could bend over and chat and not worry about my girls falling out---LOL---and having a jacket means I can wear it when warmer weather too. Might even wear it to the wedding of one of the groomsmen in May. Did you all notice the flat silver shoes? LOL---bought them for the reception and wore the heels to the wedding---glad I did!
Lindie, yes, I seem to be hooked on chocolate and orange lately.
Today's challenge is to do stretches. And tomorrow's is to do a new list for February---February will be a lot of decluttering topics so please include them in your list. Gosh, where did January go?

Hahahaha Cathy, glad you liked them it was of course packed for you because it was orange chocolate LOL

I wanna go see the wedding pics.

The session this afternoon went well - we talked about setting goals for affordable housing and start with a want list and then go from there, I know I am not retiring for 5 yrs but I need to prepare now for the fact that my income will be shopped in half !

Terri good to hear from ya... glad all is well, wondered about your son.

Dianne, washing your car in the cold ? I hope you put that in the exercise tracker too - it all counts !

Betsy, glad you liked my travel plans for Cathy LOL Hope your day went well.

Dianne, You will be happy---posted a few new wedding pictures from my camera---the one of me and Reagann which I think shows off my hair and dress is sideways though. Hope to have better ones once we get the ones from the photographer.

I washed my car in the driveway today--big bucket of soapy water and a bunch of buckets of clean water. I got some steps today! Hubby is going to work from home tomorrow--first day in ages he hasn't gone into the office. I will hit the gym at 8:30.

Hope Terri and Carol are doing okay--Anne, too--miss them! And also miss the others who have popped on in the past--come on back!

My list item--I started on the taxes that I do--listed all the trips for volunteering at church and at the park where I work. Most of my trips there are related to volunteer activities!

Lindie, okay, now you have got to send me more of these orange Aero Bubbles---LOL---they are verrrrrrryyyyyy good! Hope the appointment goes okay. And I thought the same thing about Carol getting sick---I know, we are both bad
Dianne, we had temps in the 60's---I had to take my coat off when I went to Walmart and while I was waiting for my pictures I went outside and walked to the little strip mall next to it and back---and when I got home I walked outside ---had to get my 10000 steps in today---I was determined!
Betsy, was the day okay there? I know you are envying Dianne and my temps today.
I got my pictures put on a cd---so I might try to figure out how to put them on Spark---wish me luck!

Today is my middle brother's birthday--he runs ultra marathons and stuff and is 51 so in the "older" category now!

It is cloudy--was sunny this AM--but getting cooler now--only 46. I'll keep the warmer but loved the sun this AM.

Trying to decide if we'll do anything for the Super Bowl. My guess is no--I have no interest in either team this year. (Do wish the Packers had won but wasn't to be.) DD2 wants to watch the game so I expect I'll plan a "TV supper" so we can feel like it is a Super Bowl party. But I need to PLAN it so I won't blow it! LOL

You can come and wash our cars any time, Dianne! emoticon i would check a bag as well, the Post Office charges way too much for shipping.

Lindie, the trip you propose sounds great. DD1 used to love reading and watching Anne of Green Gables so we have always wanted to take her there.

My mom has been gone for nine years but today is her birthday, she would have been 84.

Have to go.

It is 52 here in NJ so, after my Zumba class (I look so stupid but I sweat so I'm working!), I washed my van! Got the big sponge and 2 buckets and got most of the salt off my van. Made DD2 fill the rinse bucket for me--she didn't want to help wash it. It won't last but I got the worst of it off. I think NJ uses salt to provide traction--they don't put down an amount to make the ice/snow melt but enough that you wouldn't need tires with tread!

Off to a church meeting--I need to figure out a graceful way to get off this committee!

We have decided to pay for checking a bag for DD2 to go back to MN--she came with a back pack and her purse. She needs to take back snow pants, new boots....and the baggage fee is less than the postage to ship a large box. She leaves one week from tomorrow. sniff

Popping in quickly before heading to work - have an appt at 4 so will be getting off early but not for fun ...

Hope everyone driving in bad weather gets to their destination ok.

Glad Carol is feeling better with the meds - see even a flue shot does not work !

Cathy, you and Joy might want to consider going to Niagra Falls or even Montreal to visit Nancy and then have some REAL poutine !!! Heck I could even fly there and meet you all there - but I think Vancouver would be a bit of a stretch ... Ontario / Quebec/ or evan Green Gables in Eastern Canada would be something to see.

Well have a good day and I'll be back later - cheers

Dianne, your dh sounds like my friend Joy's dh---and I don't think he will retire as he will have nothing to do if he does and that is usually what kills a man. Just like my dh goes into work on Wednesday, his day off, to do changes on the computer----he does this because he is tired when he gets in on Tuesday and also because it takes him a while on the computer and I don't think he wants others to see how slow he is on it---it is aggrevating!
Betsy, hope they are just delayed due to weather and okay. Glad you are having a lighter day.

Oh Dianne, you are SO RIGHT about WI weather but aside from the freezing rain and fog, we love days like today when the temp is already 32, crazy! I jumped on again to let you know that although it took DH twice as long as it should to get to work, he made it safely. Sophie is usually here by 7 and no sign of her yet so I hope her mom is OK. BOTH of Cashton's parents schools are cancelled but he is coming anyway, just later so the ice will have had a chance to melt.

What makes you think your DH will slow down after vacation? I hope he does but that is typically when work has piled up.

Ava's finished her breakfast so off I go.......

Morning! One thing I don't miss is the WI weather--cold, fog, rain, snow, blizzard, wind--and that is just one day! In April! LOL Betsy--I hope all are safe.

Hubby got home last night at 5:20, ate supper till 5:45 and then went up to his home office. Got off the computer at 10:25. I swear he is working 80 hour weeks PLUS the commute. Not happy but I won't rant and rave unless it keeps up AFTER vacation in Feb.

Betsy, sure hope she can get some help with those medical bills. No fog here but other areas did---at least your dh can get some work done with no disruptions being there early.

Good Morning All. We have an advisory for dense fog and freezing rain this morning but DH leaves so EARLY that he missed the call that there is a two hour delay, hope he gets to school all right. The same goes for all of my day care parents who drive at least 30 minutes to get to their prospective work places ( all but one and she drives about 1/2 that.)

My brother texted that he got a hold of the gambling hot line and there's nothing to worry about, still think it is strange. My sister is still struggling with mastitis and no insurance but it is bad enough that she is seeing a doctor again today.

I better get breakfast before Ava arrives. Have a great day.

I heard from Carol last night---she said the meds have really helped and she was able to go to a work meeting but was totally worn out from doing that---she was hoping to sleep last night but not sure since dh is now back to work, too.
I don't know why mine are not showing---I will try again, thanks---if I can't find them I will go to tech help. I know I made them public.
Lindie, I will start adding to it----Joy and I might be adventurous once I save enough to go crosscountry---we have several Sparklers we want to visit along the way and I have always wanted to see different areas of the US---but I also need to get a passport---LOL
Hope Terri is doing okay---her internet is sure acting up or at least hoping that is the only reason not on.
Have a good day---got to go look up the challenge---LOL

Lindie, I got something today---LOL---love the items, esp. the bank!
Dianne, thanks for the heads up on Carol, I hope she did not get the flu and have some side effects. And I know she is sad that Luke is gone.
Betsy, LOL, she just thinks you are doing the changes for fun? Hard to please everyone---sure hope once you decide this time that it sticks---and if anyone comes up with any more reasons why to change it, tell them they can stay home---!
Boring, boring games---both games were blow outs for us---not fun to watch another team do soooo badly as much as I like to see our boys win. And came home with a headache---took some meds and drank some hot chocolate so that has helped---but figure I won't be on the computer after a bit.

Hey Lindie, We have lots of leftovers so we are having French onion soup again tonight along with Asian salad. How's that for an international dinner! Anyway, I just thought I would invite you to come on down and anyone else is also welcome. We did not use croutons but something even better, toasted baguette bread with melted Gouda cheese, delicious.

DH is dropping off a reference letter for his student teacher and then we are dropping his car off so they can change the oil and check his tires tomorrow. emoticon

Yes, my DD2 is maddeningly hilarious! Right now she has Nate convinced that I am crazy because I keep changing our trip dates.....like that's what I want to do ! She doesn't get that I am trying to make scheduling work the best for EVERYONE and that is hard. Right now she is washing some strawberries for me for lunch so I have to give her that.

Our weather forecast is very Wisconsin like, up to 49 tomorrow ( abnormal) and then 5 below for Wednesday ( very normal for Jan.)

The house smells great right now as I just made a double batch of banana bread from a Spark recipe. Time to get it out!

Feel better, Carol, emotionally and physically!

Cathy--it started snowing as I drove to the gym and it looks like a snow globe out there right now. Not sticking to the roads yet--they are warm, somehow--but if it keeps falling at this rate, we'll have white.

Good workout--I did my walk on the treadmill--about 20 walking and then I ran for 10! WooHoo! Did pretty good on the running! And I used 10 pound and 5 pound weights today--5s for the shoulder work and 10s for all else. And I WILL hit 1500 minutes by Thursday.

Betsy--your DD2 is too funny. AGING! And fussing about the wings as cooking? Oh, well. My DD3 is very good in the kitchen--cooks by the seat of her pants! DD2 is getting better--she likes to use a recipe. And DD1 didn't cook much at home but is cooking lots as a married lady. He ate out 2 meals a day--and she stopped that pretty fast--saving them lots of $$.

I am getting ready to go to the gym. It is 29 here right now--should get over 50 by Wed but rain. I will likely open some windows that day--just to air things out a bit! I do hope the less than 20 degree temps are done for awhile--my blood has gotten too thin!

I think everyone is eating take out these days but wait until they have to PAY for it!

It is going to be a balmy 34-38 today so no school cancellations, BOO! It will be a lighter day because three who were supposed to be here will be with grandparents or daddy. I LOVE lighter days but I HATE that they have to start so EARLY!

Lindie, I learned cooking skills on my own as well so I am trying to be sure the kids don't have to. It sounds like your new furniture is working out nicely.

Here's a gem to start your day; DD2 told me yesterday that now that she is AGING she needs to start wearing foundation! What? She is 20!

Betsy, my oldest son was the one most interested in doing the cooking----he does okay for a bachelor. And Andy has had to learn because Sheri is not much of a cook either---but he can do some basic stuff and likes cooking on a grill---gets that from his dad. Michael learned a lot about cooking at college but won't do any for me here---and Taylar is not much of a cook---but she has helped me before and learned a few simple tricks. The male teacher at school that helps me with the basketball games this year, he does the majority of the cooking at his house---his new wife doesn't cook either. What is up with these girls? I know it is easier for us not to have people in our way in the kitchen but they are loosing out on valuable skills. Good for you in making her do it. And hope she improves and that you get a break today. We are having a mix in some areas here, too. But no delay---think mostly rain here but county next to us has a 2 hour delay.
Lindie, woohoo on getting half of it together---nice that they helped you---and you should be toasty at your desk since it is going to be over the heater.
Basketball tonight so no water aerobics---due to the snow cancellation last Thursday---so I have a long week ahead of me.
Hope everyone has a good day! Take a walk today---I did a 15 minute walk this morning. emoticon

Guess you better get some sleep, Betsy, that's a real early call in the morning.

And does your 20 yr old figure she will have a maid, chef and what not when she starts her own housekeeping? lol I only wished I knew half as much as you are teaching her, my mom taught me nothing ... she is very lucky to have you there to guide her ...

My table looks great, the chairs are not as heavy wood as the table but they can be replaced and for 35.00 I am not gonna complain much. they can be painted - probubly a laquor black - the table will remain as is with maybe a table cloth/runner set = the cushions for the chair seats are red ! Oh I do like Ikea most of the time. The boys put it together for me and tomorrow they will come do the desk ... so this one will go against the heater ... it wont' block the heat at all...

Dianne, the weather on the WI/MN border was AWFUL today and it started while DD1 was in church. She had not kept up with the weather so she was quite surprised when she walked out. My daughters are 6 years apart but they are SO different as far as cooking goes. At 20, DD1 was cooking home made meals for our family. Last night, DD2, at 20, BALKED about making frozen TGIFriday's chicken wings and said it was "too hard." I made her do it anyway and aside from choosing a pan with no sides she did all right but it was very dramatic.Good grief!

The snow has stopped but we are under an advisory for a wintry mix and fog for the morning commute, NOT a good combination. Administrators are being cautious and nothing is cancelled YET because it looks like we are in for this weather a lot this week, scary since I have two family members who commute to school in it.

Lindie, glad you found what you wanted for a good price. Remind your adult kids that no matter what you will always be the mom and therefore you are entitled to do as you please!

Ava's coming at dawn and her mom commutes so it will probably be even earlier.Cashton is the only other one coming so it will be a quieter day but a LONG one. Happy Monday !

We have had a nice quiet day. Haven't heard much from DD3 in MI--maybe due to the weather! She might be holed up--studying or whatever. After church, DD2 helped me get the odd food for the odd critters at work and we got them fed. I finished my Elemental Magicians Lackey book ( it was okay, Cathy--wouldn't really recommend it) and we visited the library and then got pizza. Watched "The Losers"--DD2 really wanted us to see it--I do not know why cause I didn't think it was very good--sort of like the A-Team but much more violent. That was my "watch a movie".

Trying to figure out this coming week--weather is warming till Wed so that is good. After the gym tomorrow, I think I'll do laundry and housework--ick.

My hand is up for some french onion soup - don't forget the crutons !!

Back from Ikea and spent 245.00 easy money. Bought a small table with 2 chairs and then seat pads for the chairs, also bought a new computer desk - with more room then mine has right now, my desk is a writing table so I might put the sterio on it for now.. I will spend the week putting it together, right now I am relaxing and then I have to go get Kartmen his litter although I could go get it tomorrow after work. he has enough...

Called my daughter from Ikea to tell her about something she was interested in - she could not go with us, and she told me to be careful what I buy or I might be percieved as a horder .. so ... my son and nephew joked about that all the way home and Gene took a pic of me with my spoils and I put that on face book as mother horder LOL = she wont' find that amusing - Gene said she's just jealous cause she could not come... oh the joy of adult kids who try to tell their aging mom what to do .... emoticon

I like it too, Betsy, but just watched it a few weeks ago. Whoa, but that cheese is expensive---hope his soup turns out well---you might look to see if you can find a grapple--an apple that tastes like a grape---actually not bad---I have looked for your apple pear here but no luck so far.
Need to go cook dinner----just the 2 of us---so fixing casserole---Michael will eat it but not his favorite---LOL

We love The Patriot and the soundtrack but variety is nice too, hope you can find something, Cathy.

DH is making French Onion soup tonight and although we normally use Gruyere cheese, the amount we needed ( 2 cups) would have been $24 so we opted to try Gouda instead for 1/2 the cost, still too high if you ask me! I volunteered to make a beef stew but he wanted to do the soup so that is what we are having. It is a perfect meal for our current weather, it looks like someone shook a snow globe out there.

Lindie, I hope you got a ride to Ikea. I have never been in one but when my sister lived in California she said everybody loved it.

Dianne, it is good to hear that your DH got home safely. It seems only the women in your family have frequent travel troubles related to weather.

Carol, thanks for the Spark mail. Did luke get back to NY safely? Our DD2 is going on a school trip to NY at the end of April and I am green with envy.

I have not tried my pummelo yet but I did buy some apple pears today, they sound more appealing.

DH is asleep on the couch a few feet from me, I think I better get the dishes done so he can get started on the soup. all the racket I will make should wake him up! He did say he would do the dishes but since he is cooking I will do them. ( They are left over from last night when we were both too tired to move after the funeral and the travel.)

ALL my kids love Ikea, I am not so in love with the place the warehouse alone is a maze that takes forever to get in and out of.. but then remember I am not a fan of crowds and there is always a crowd !

Dianne glad you had a good afternoon. On top of the land sinking, the water is increasing from the Ice melt to which they have to take into consideration ...

Trying something new for dinner - bbq wings - vegetable formed wings, sautee'd in olive oil - 4 min on each side and then add sauce, the sauce is a hickory sauce, - next time I will use my frying pan, the wings stuck to my sauce pan that I used - but will do this again, its from Gardenin - very popular vegetarian/vegan meals ... I love their stuffed turkey rolls !

Hi, everyone! emoticon Hubby got home today so that is good!

DD2 and I went to the geology open house with 2 others from work--I drove. Several others also drove up. I listened to a talk by a scientific illustrator (fascinating how he uses the fossil bones to figure out how the animal may have looked--works closely with the scientists), one by a seismologist (talked about what we are just now learning about big earthquakes--earlier quakes over 8.0 didn't have the digital tools we have now) and one by a scientist studying sea levels (talked about Sandy and how the East Coast is slowly sinking while the sea level is rising). In all, 3 fascinating talks by college folks and I could still understand them! We didn't walk much but ate healthy--we'd packed lunches.

Now I am just relaxing with hubby and TV.

That is a good deal, Betsy, good going. And yes on the heart monitor, great investment !

Been looking for a small kitchen nook size table and chairs for myself in my living room - wood not steel, Ikea has something that might work.. I want to take the area where my sterio is and down size the sterio, its never up loud and something smaller might work elsewhere. .. I am sure my sister will take the sterio once I get a replacement ... it suppose to play 5 disc one after another but its not reading them well anymore so thinking iether the laser area is dirty from dust or just get something new - new works for me emoticon

Lindie, quite a haul for those groceries---sounds like you had a good work out today---not me---always a problem when I have Reagann.
Betsy, no, she did not fall asleep then---so I fed her lunch, then we all got dressed warmly and went out to play in the snow---figured that would tire her out---we all had a good time but it the wind sure made it feel colder outside--actually inside, too---had to turn the heat up a bit more because of it. Think Michael and Taylar had the most fun---picking on each other in the snow---LOL---she took a good nap when she came in and I got to watch "We bought a Zoo"---on our new HBO ---it was good---would recommend that movie---also saw most of the one where they rescue the whales stuck under the ice in Alaska---definitely another one to watch if you get a chance. Good buy at Kohl's---I bought new dish rags from there last year with my Kohl's cash.
Wonder if Dianne's dh got home yet?

Lindie, it is a good thing you have a device to tell you when your heart is in the danger zone.
As long as you work off that donut, I see nothing wrong with it !

Cathy, did Reagann fall asleep watching the movie?

Everyone else must be enjoying their Saturday. We left at 9:30 this morning, went to the funeral and luncheon and returned around 5:30. DH was not real thrilled with me when I said we had to stop at Kohl's before we came home but I wasn't going to let Kohl's cash go to waste and it expired today. They STILL have some phenomenal clearance deals but I opted for some Food Network bar mop dish cloths as our dish rags were getting pretty shabby. Price $3.14 plus the $10 Kohl's cash, savings of $23.

Time to change into warmer more comfortable clothes and go enjoy the fire. Have a good night.

Had a good work out at cardio rehab and brought home another book to read - will share tidbits when I run across some - its about shopping for heart health and although I think I know it all, I decided to keep an open mind and hope I don't know it all LOL

Walked home from the rehab centre, and stopped to shop for groceries along the way - 60.00 and 21.6 lbs later I was dragging the bag on wheels and at one point had to stop and rest because my heart rate was in the danger zone, so rested to allow the heart rate to drop then continued at a slower pace - burnt lots of calories !! Pedometer says over 12, 000 steps and over 610 calories burnt - so pretty sure I worked off the sour cream donut I had .. emoticon

Betsy, you should keep it as a special night for the 2 of you. If DD wants to go, she needs to tell Nate and he needs to get their tickets---that would make it special for them, too. And if he really doesn't want to go, that could make it not so fun a night for any of you.
Taylar and Reagann are watching a fairy movie---hoping she falls asleep.

Lindie, I thought of the speed dial mistake as well but that begs the question..... Why does he have gamblers hot lone on speed dial? Oh well, it is out of my hands and as I said before, all I can do is pray.

Your post that you were going to watch Big Bang had the time as 8:49 and that is why I thought it was on late but as it turns out it is only an hour later than it is on here. I love Sheldon as well and the award was not given to him at The Golden Globes BUT he has won before, multiple times I believe. I can't remember who won but they were also very deserving, I think it was a tough category this year.

My DH is outside getting wood ready for my bil to take over to the house where he lives with sil, they really go through it!

Cathy, you are close,it is a special event that involves food and it is a fund raiser as well. DD2 has always wanted to go so I am tempted to spring for tickets so that she and Nate can come along with us. That night is exactly one week before DH's play so I know he will be late due to rehearsal. If I take the kids I can go earlier and he can just meet us but if I take the kids it takes away from our special "alone" time. I'll have to think about it on the trip today.

Have fun on your geology day, Dianne!

Cathy, it is good that Taylar is OK with Michael's schedule, that is part of the give and take of marriage. Enjoy them while you can.

Hello to anyone reading and not posting!

Betsy, at least you all can go together and enjoy each other's company even though it is for a sad reason. Sounds like you are going to a special place for dinner on the 7th---good reason to have a splurge day---just go light the day before and the day after and it should balance out---and so much more fun when you know you have something to look forward to.
Lindie, I know, I will miss them when they move out---but she will often be babysitting on Friday and Saturday nights once the weather gets better---and they will be dog sitting for a friend of her mom's in another week and will be staying at her house that week---so that will be nice for them---but I think Michael will be pretty busy that week so she will be by herself a lot. The good thing is she knows how his schedule is and is fine with it----and soon she will have lots of stuff to read and study for as her classes get into full swing next week.
No walk for me today---not going to drive on these roads---icy under the snow---so have to play with Reagann---but we might go outside later and play in the snow---that should burn some calories---LOL
Today's challenge is to do something from your list----and a reminder that next's month's challenge will be about clutter---so be thinking of areas you would like to work on---although I have been doing a bit of that already.
Know Carol is spending as much time with her son before he leaves. Hoping things are okay at Terri's house. Miss Anne and hope this Saturday she can pop in and tell us she is okay. Mickey, hope your days are going okay and that you are not overdoing. Mare, we miss you! And to all our other Sparklers, hope to hear from you soon!

The Big Bang Theory is on at 7 pm Monday through Friday for an hour - or two episodes, my daughter's boyfriend has season 1 and 2 - but would want them all and I was really disappointed that the actor that plays shelly did not get an award at the awards show - the golden something ? Anyway they are still a hit with me !

Cathy, have not watched twister in ages - glad you had fun playing cards !

Betsy enjoy lunch with the family tomorrow although the outing is for a funeral.. such is life. I know you are concerned about your brother - but maybe he hit the wrong speed dial button, who knows?? He does ... Glad Stephen worked out for you today and for him, gives him some independence and an opportunity to pay down that debt ...

Well I am gonna go read my book now, had to go out and pay my sister's phone bill ... with her money ...

Lindie, Big Bang is on late there! I told my kids they could get me any season of that for christmas but they got other things and that's fine, maybe next year.

As far as my brother goes I know it is his life and there is the slim chance he was calling for someone else but I doubt it. It is his life and he will have to deal with it. The thing I can't figure out is most hot lines are 800 numbers and my cell isn't even CLOSE to that so did he subconsciously cal me for help? I asked and he said no so my conscious is clear but I will still worry.

Cathy, how nice that you have someone to play a game with for a while. You will miss her when they move out.

My sister-in-law's aunt died and the funeral is in another town tomorrow so a group of 5 of us are going in another sister-in-law's car. We will probably go out for lunch on the way back so that will be my mentionable fun.

Steven did a great job working for me again as long as I do the overexcited Jackson control. he has one speed, FAST emoticon and one volume, LOUD so I am constantly redirecting and hopefully Steven is picking up on what I am doing. Last week I was VERY happy to hear him tell the children playing with cardboard blocks that look like bricks that they are NOT bombs they are bricks for building!

I am FINALLY close to finished putting Christmas decorations away but I can't find some of my Santa boxes emoticon Everything else is packed away into red Rubbermaid containers so I am going to buy another one to use until the boxes reappear. I also put all of the gifts we purchased at Kohl's in the red containers so when we get out the decorations we will be reminded that we are one step ahead by having the gifts all ready! emoticon DD2 and I spent a good while taking the price stickers off the sides and bottoms of them this evening, I thought it was fun but she didn't.

Enjoy your scientific day tomorrow, Dianne. I hope your dad had a very happy birthday today and that he didn't have to split any wood...even if he can!

I finished my medicine today emoticon Recheck is next Wednesday or Thursday. I must feel good for our early Valentine celebration on Feb 7. I will tell you what it is when it gets closer to the day but one hint I can give you is that I will definitely NOT be following a good diet plan that day!

DD2 needs to upload some pictures to send to the attorney so emoticon

Dianne, we are just getting to minerals in the Earth science class---so I would find that interesting--I always liked rocks---think that is why I liked taking the geography classes in college and did enjoy my one spelunking trip with them. Good for you on those stretches.
Lindie, want to deep clean my bathroom? LOL so what are you going to do tonight since you did that last night? what will you do for fun?
School went okay---I did find a period to get thru my work email--had 140 on it---took me a whole period just to go thru and most of it could be deleted---and today was the last day for my 7th period teacher until she has the baby---boy, are we all glad---so at least we should have 6 weeks of someone else. And I did not have DRR today because of the delay---so I have a ton of email here at home, too.
My fun tonight will probably be with Taylar---Michael is working til late so maybe we will play a game---either that or we can watch a movie together---sure she will miss him but she is used to his schedule. And we are getting snow. I need to call Andy to tell him if it is too much he will need to bring Reagann to me tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be a "rest" day. The class this AM helped with the stretching but I do need some more. We are going to the Rutgers Geology Museum Open House tomorrow--4 college lectures, a mineral and rock show and then tours of the museum. We have gone in the past and enjoyed it. We pack a lunch and make a day of it. Hopefully hubby will be home tomorrow--may have an issue so he doesn't get home tomorrow. We'll see!
