Bountiful Baskets is a food co-op where a group of people each contribute towards a large order for a site. They take all the contributions for that site, place a produce order, and then a truck brings them on Saturday. Volunteers meet the truck, help unload it, and divide it up among the number of participants. To start, on Monday or Tuesday you go to the website, click on the state, then county and site that you want to go to and contribute. You can also order bread or special cases of produce depending on the week and season. Then, on Saturday you go to the site you chose, at the time that it says, and pick up what you ordered. I do want to put a plug in for volunteering. The co-op is run by volunteers so if you are able to once in a while meet the truck and help out it's a really great thing. Plus, I think it's a great mini work-out and I've met some amazing people at my site. There is more information at the website, bountifulbaskets.org

so what exactly is Bountiful Baskets? I've heard people talk about it but I don't know what it is or how to get involved.

I am actually a site coordinator for Bountiful Baskets. I started it because I loved how it helped our family eat healthier.

I like the one in downtown Boise, but hate the traffic to get there. There is another one at the corner of Eagle Road and Fairview inMeridian...haven't checked that one yet. Kuna has one, but not much there this last summer. Do you know of any others in the Boise area?

I just started looking into it in my area. They have it here every Saturday. I really need to look into joining...I love fresh fruits and veggies!

I would like to share this valuable resource that MAY be available in your area. Bountiful Baskets is a non profit co-op that you can pay a low fee to receive lots of fresh fruits & veggies every week. I started a few months ago & love it! To see if there is one in your area to participate in, go to www.bountifulbaskets.org FYI, this is not an advertisement, because like I said it is a non profit co op. Nobody makes a dime!
