I had wondered the same thing. Sure enough the Fitness Tracker has "Playing with kids"! Now if I could just find a way to absorb the grandkids' energy.

If you want something you have never had, you must be willing to do things you have never done.

Shampoo alert

As I was conditioning my hair in the shower this morning, I took time to read my shampoo bottle. I am in shock!! The shampoo I use in the shower that runs down my entire body says “for extra volume and body”! SERIOUSLY. Why have I not noticed this before? Now I understand why I am so “Full-Figured”! Tomorrow I am going to start using “Dawn” dish soap. It says right on the label “dissolves fat that is otherwise difficult to remove.”
It pay to read the warning labels, my friends!

An it harm none do what ye will.

Importance of Walking!!

Walking can add minutes to your life.
This enables you at 85 years old to spend an additional
5 months in a nursing home at $7000 per month.

My grandpa started walking
five miles a day when he was 60.
Now he's 97 years old and we
don't know where the hell he is.

I like long walks,
especially when they are taken
by people who annoy me.

The only reason I would take up walking
is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.

I have to walk early in the morning,
before my brain figures out what I'm doing.

I joined a health club last year ...
spent about 400 bucks.
Haven't lost a pound.
Apparently you have to go there.

Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise',
I wash my mouth out with chocolate.

I do have flabby thighs,
but fortunately my stomach covers them.

The advantage of exercising every day
is so when you die, they'll say,
....'Well, she looks good doesn't she.'

If you are going to try cross-country skiing,
start with a small country.

I know I got a lot of exercise the last few years,......
..... just getting over the hill.

We all get heavier as we get older,
because there's a lot more information in our heads.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

.... and

Every time I start thinking too much about how I look,
I just find a Happy Hour, and by the time I leave,
I look just fine.

You could run this over to your friends.......
But just e-mail it to them!
I Did

A friend of my fiancee's, who is a Marine, just got out in California and wrote me this, I got a giggle out of it.

You know your in California when.....

Everything that was a dollar now is 10.

You see nothing but windmills and there is no such thing as a town.

When they say traffic jam they mean 5 hours at a stand still cursing the guy next to you.

When a guy is stupid enough to think he's robbing a gas station and it turns up he's holding up a gun store with a gun.

You see a sign that says fun in the sun.....only that sun can get past 100.

I thought this was a little funny, not to bad. But he hates it out there lol. He had to come up with something.

Twas the month after Christmas,
and all through the house,
Nothing would fit me,
not even a blouse.

The cookies I'd nibbled,
the chocolate I'd taste
At the holiday parties
had gone to my waist.

When I got on the scales
there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store
(less a walk than a lumber),

I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared;
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese
And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."

As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt...
I said to myself, as I only can,
"You can't spend a Summer, disguised as a man!"

So, away with the last of the sour cream dip.
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip.
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
Till all the additional ounces have vanished.

I won't have a cookie, not even a lick.
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie.
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.

I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore...
But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.
Happy New Year to all, and to all a good diet.

A woman visited a plastic surgeon who told her about a new procedure called 'The Knob,' where a small knob is placed at the top of the woman's head and could be turned to tighten up her skin and produce the effect of a brand new face-lift. Of course, the woman wanted 'The Knob.'

Over the course of the years, the woman tightened the knob, and the effects were wonderful, the woman remained young looking and vibrant.

After fifteen years, the woman returned to the surgeon with two problems.

'All these years, everything has been working just fine. I've had to turn the knob many times and I've always loved the results. But now I've developed two annoying problems: First, I have these terrible bags under my eyes and the knob won't get rid of them..'

The doctor looked at her closely and said, 'Those aren't bags, those are your breasts.'

She said, 'Well, I guess there's no point in asking about the goatee.'

The Economy, How Bad Is It....

The economy is so bad... that I got a pre-declined credit card in the mail.

The economy is so bad.... I ordered a burger at McDonalds and the kid behind the counter asked, "Can you afford fries with that?"

The economy is so bad... that CEO's are now playing miniature golf.

The economy is so bad... if the bank returns your check marked "Insufficient Funds," you call them and ask if they meant you or them.

The economy is so bad.... Hot Wheels and Matchbox stocks are trading higher than GM.

The economy is so bad... parents in Beverly Hills fired their nannies and learned their children's names.

The economy is so bad... a truckload of Americans was caught sneaking into Mexico .

The economy is so bad... Dick Cheney took his stockbroker hunting.

The economy is so bad... Motel Six won't leave the light on anymore.

The economy is so bad... the Mafia is laying off judges.

The economy is so bad... Exxon-Mobil laid off 25 Congressmen.

And finally...

Congress says they are looking into this Bernard Madoff scandal. Oh great!! The guy who made $50 billion disappear is being investigated by the people who made $1.5 trillion disappear!

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his breaks, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches!

The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us.

My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy; and I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!'

This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you.

Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so.....'Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't.'
We determine whether something will be a blessing or a curse by the way we choose to see it!

You are all so awesome. Carol, I am keeping you in my prayers.

Five More Minutes !

While at the park one day, a woman sat down next to a man on a bench near a playground. "That's my son over there," she said, pointing to a little boy in a red sweater who was gliding down the slide.

"He's a fine looking boy" the man said. "That's my son on the swing in the blue sweater." Then, looking at his watch, he called to his son. "What do you say we go, Todd?" Todd pleaded, "Just five more minutes, Dad. Please? Just five more minutes."

The man nodded and Todd continued to swing to his heart's content. Minutes passed and the father stood and called again to his son. "Time to go now?" Again Todd pleaded, "Five more minutes, Dad. Just five more minutes." The man smiled and said, "O.K."

"My, you certainly are a patient father," the woman responded.

The man smiled and then said, "My older son Tommy was killed by a drunk driver last year while he was riding his bike near here. I never spent much time with Tommy and now I'd give anything for just five more minutes with him. I've vowed not to make the same mistake with Todd. He thinks he has five more minutes to swing. The truth is, I get Five more minutes to watch him play."

Life is all about making priorities, what are your priorities? Give someone you love 5 more minutes of your time today.

HELLO DESTINY

taking control
of my destiny
i look to the future
with renewed energy

wanting to be
the one to say
i give up
or just do it my way

i am the one
who has to choose
how strong i'll be
how much i'll lose

it's my decision
to stay the plan
to make good choices
to believe i can

no one else
holds the key
to my success
and where i'll be

tomorrow or the next day
they're mine to hold
to grab the brass ring
to bring home the gold

i am worth
every effort
and the sweat of my brow
no more excuses
my here is my now

i am the one
who'll praise my success
and i am the one
who won't accept anything less

my health, my future
are one and the same
it's my life i'm protecting
it is so not a game

to win, yes it matters
but losing means more
because i can't play again
no do overs, not anymore

i'm rolling the dice
i am giving it one last try
there are no more options
now it's really do or die

so i am the one
who will no longer doubt
i am the one
who just won't strike out

i want to find
my health again
i want to be
my own best friend

so all i do
and everything i say
will support my plan
and help me through the days

because victory
is life and i want to live
and i am in full control now
it's everything i give

so welcome challenge
and hello destiny
i see my future
come live there with me

We are a GEM Community with about 15 members (Population about 400-425). We start @ 7:00 a.m. with a fun run, breakfast in the park & end usually about midnight with a street dance. It last all day long with things going on through out the day. We have times where we tend to lose people...need new ideas so that we can keep them all day. I start my day at 6:00 and end about 1 a.m. when I pull the barricades off the road. Although I work it all day long it is fun to see everyone enjoying the day. This is one of two things that bring our community together.

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask or not so here goes.....the group that I belong to is getting ready to prepare for our community celebration in June. We are a little group with a limited budget...we have an auction, fun run, parade, small kids' carnival, street dance, mechanical bull, etc... I'm wondering what some of the other communities do for entertainment & events. We have done the same thing for years...we need some new ideas to help generate more interest. Would love some input.
Thanks, Carol

How To Dance In The Rain

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in
his 80's, arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he
was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over
an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at
his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would
evaluate his wound.

On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the
needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While
taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's
appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman
told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast
with his wife.

I inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while
and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease. As we talked, I asked if
she would be upset if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew
who he was, a nd that she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised, and asked him, "And you still go every morning, even
though she doesn't know who you are?" He smiled as he patted my hand
and said, "She doesn't know who I am, but I still know who she is."

I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and
thought, "That is the kind of love I want in my life."

True love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of
all that is, has been, will be, and will not be....

"Life's not about surviving the storm, but about learning to dance in the rain."

In Memory of....

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times he still was a crusty old man and was considered a positive roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, two children, John Dough and Jane Dough plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart..

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

100 Ways To Be Happy

1. Never put yourself last.

10. Don't close your heart so tightly against life's pain that you shut
out life's blessings.
11. Celebrate all your birthdays no matter how old you get.
12. Examine your life for limitations and ask yourself why you put them there.
13. Plant a tree, pull weeds, or get your hands dirty.

CLEANING HOUSE FOR 2008

Last Week I threw out worrying, it was getting old and in the way.
It kept me from being me; I couldn't do things God's way.
I threw out a book on MY PAST
(Didn't have time to read it anyway).
Replaced it with NEW GOALS, started reading it today.
I threw out hate and bad memories,
(Remember how I treasured them so)?
Got me a NEW PHILOSOPHY too, threw out the one from long ago.
Brought in some new books too, called I CAN, I WILL, and I MUST.
Threw out I might, I think and I ought.
WOW, you should've seen the dust.
I ran across an OLD FRIEND, I hadn't talked to in a while.
His name is GOD the Father, and I really like His style.
He helped me to do some cleaning and added some things Himself.
Like PRAYER, HOPE, FAITH and LOVE,
Yes... I placed them right on the shelf.
I picked up this special thing and placed it at the front door.
I FOUND IT- its called PEACE. Nothing gets me down anymore.
Yes, I've got my house looking nice.
For things like Worry and Trouble there just isn't any space.
It's good to do a little house cleaning,
Get rid of the things on the shelf.
It sure makes things brighter; maybe you should TRY IT YOURSELF.
BE BLESSED AND BE A BLESSING TO SOMEONE ELSE!!!!

What Religion is Your Bra?

A man walked into the ladies department of a Macy 's
and shyly walked up to
the woman behind the counter and said,
"I'd like to buy a bra for my wife. "
" What type of bra?"
asked the clerk.
" Type?" inquires the man, "There's more than one type?"

" Look around,"
said the saleslady,
as she showed a sea of bras in every shape, size, color
and material imaginable.

"Actually,
even with all of this variety,
there are really only
four types of bras to choose from ."

Relieved, the man asked about the types.

The saleslady replied:
"There are the Catholic, the Salvation Army,
the Presbyterian,
and the Baptist types.

Which one would you prefer?"

Now totally befuddled,
the man asked about
the differences between them.

The Saleslady responded,

"It is all really quite simple. ...
The Catholic type
supports the masses;

The Salvation Army type lifts the fallen;
he Presbyterian type keeps them staunch and upright; and
The Baptist makes mountains out of mole hills."

Have you ever wondered why A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, G, and H are the letters used
to define bra sizes?

If you have wondered why,
but couldn't figure out
what the letters stood for,
it is about time
you became informed!

(A} Almost Boobs...
{B} Barely there...
{C} Can't Complain!...
{D} Dang!...
{DD} Double dang!...
{E} Enormous!...
{F} Fake...
{G} Get a Reduction...
{H} Help me, I've fallen
and I can't get up!...

They forgot the German Bra.

Holtzemfromfloppen!

I have a pondering thought. I didn't know till about two days ago that there was a SparkTeens. I signed up on Sparkpeople originally, because, I think at the time, there wasn't a SparkTeens or that my friend only knew about Sparkpeople. I'm almost 18 so I don't think it's a problem now...but...hmmm...???

Such A Time As This

Why did I walk through the valley?
Why was I forced to my knees?
Why did the sun parch and dry me
As I walked through the desert of defeat?
Then came the clouds and the rain fell;
I thought I'd never make it through the night;
God gave me the answer when I prayed with you,
He let me see the dark to hold the light.

I can kneel with a brother who is bearing a burden,
And say, "I know just what you're going through."
I can pray with a sister in the midst of her sorrow,
And say, "I know because I've been there too."
I can put my arm around someone who is down,
And tell them to have faith and confidence.
What in pain I could not see, I now fully believe,
God prepared me for such a time as this.

You may be praying for rescue.
You are facing temptation and trial.
Struggles are endlessly present,
But the purpose is somewhere in God's time.
Just keep on walking the good road;
The night leads to a stronger, wiser day;
Then when you're asked the reason for the path that you have trod,
You'll know without a doubt and you can say,

I can kneel with a brother who is bearing a burden,
And say, "I know just what you're going through."
I can pray with a sister in the midst of her sorrow,
And say, "I know, because I've been there too."
I can put my arms around someone who is down,
And tell them to have faith and confidence.
What in pain I could not see, I now fully believe,
God prepared me for such a time as this.

Tips for 2008

1. If you are choking on an ice cube simply pour a cup of boiling water down your throat. Presto! The blockage will instantly remove itself.

2. Avoid cutting yourself slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold while you chop.

3. Avoid arguments with the Mrs. about lifting the toilet seat by using the shower.

4. For high blood pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember to use a timer.

5. A mouse trap, placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.

6. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives, then you will be afraid to cough.

7. You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

8. Remember: Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

Daily Thought:

SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES. NOT REALLY GOOD FOR ANYTHING BUT THEY BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN PUSHED DOWN THE STAIRS.

Life is too short for drama & petty things! So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

Disney World and you certainly don't want a fast
pass. You only have one ride through life so make
the most of it and enjoy the ride.

*'Twas The Day After Christmas*

Twas the day after Christmas, and all through the house, Every creature was hurting-- even the mouse.

The toys were all broken, their batteries dead; Santa passed out, with some ice on his head.

Wrapping and ribbons just covered the floor, while Upstairs the family continued to snore.

And I in my T-shirt, new Reeboks and jeans, Went into the kitchen and started to clean.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the sink to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the curtains, and threw up the sash.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a little white truck, with an oversized mirror.

The driver was smiling, so lively and grand; The patch on his jacket said "U.S. POSTMAN."

With a handful of bills, he grinned like a fox Then quickly he stuffed them into our mailbox.

Bill after bill, after bill, they still came. Whistling and shouting he called them by name:

"Now Dillard's, now Broadway's, now Penney's and Sears Here's Levitz's and Target's and Mervyn's--all here!!

To the tip or your limit, every store, every mall, Now chargeaway-chargeaway-chargeaway all!"

He whooped and he whistled as he finished his work. He filled up the box, and then turned with a jerk.

He sprang to his truck and he drove down the road, Driving much faster with just half a load.

Then I heard him exclaim with great holiday cheer, "ENJOY WHAT YOU GOT ... YOU'LL BE PAYING ALL YEAR!"

'Twas the week after Christmas, and all through the house
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste
At the holiday parties had gone to my waist.

When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).

I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared;
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,

The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese
And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."

As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt

I said to myself, as I only can
"You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!"

So away with the last of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip

Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
"Till all the additional ounces have vanished.

I won't have a cookie - not even a lick.
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.

I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.

I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore
But isn't that what January is for?

Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.
Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night
in the home of a wealthy fa mily.

The family was rude and refused to let the angels
stay in the mansion's guest room.

Instead the angels were given a small space in
the cold basement.

As they made their bed on the hard floor, the
older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.

When the younger angel asked why, the older angel
replied,

'Things aren't always what they seem.'

The next night the pair came to rest at the house
of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his
wife.

After sharing what little food they had the couple
let the angels sleep in their bed where they could
have a good night's rest.

When the sun came up the next morning the angels
found the farmer and his wife in tears

Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole
income, lay dead in the field.

The younger angel was infuriated and asked the
older angel how could you have let this happen?

The first man had everything, yet you helped him,
she accused.

The second family had little but was willing to
sha re everything, and you let the cow die.

'Things aren't always what they seem,' the older
angel replied.

'When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I
noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the
wall.

Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and
unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the
wall so he wouldn't find it.'

'Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed,
the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him
the cow instead.

Things aren't always what they seem.'

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things
don't turn out the way they should. If you have
faith, you just need to trust that every outcome
is always to your advantage. You just might not
know it until some time later..

One beautiful December evening Pedro and his girlfriend Rosita were sitting by the side of the ocean.
It was a romantic full moon, when Pedro said,"Hey, mamacita, let's do Weeweechu."
Oh no, not now, let's look at the moon!" said Rosita.
Oh, c'mon baby, let's you and I do Weeweechu. I love you and it's the perfect time," Pedro begged.
"But I wanna just hold your hand and watch the moon." replied Rosita.

" Please, corazoncito, just once, do Weeweechu with me."

Rosita looked at Pedro and said, "OK, one time, we'll do Weeweechu."

Pedro grabbed his guitar and they both sang..... "Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, Weeweechu a Merry
Christmas, Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year."

Twas the night before Christmas and all round my hips
were Fannie May candies that sneaked past my lips.
Fudge brownies were stored in the freezer with care
In hopes that my thighs would forget they were there.

While Mama in her my girdle and I in chin straps
Had just settled down to sugar-borne naps.
When out in the pantry there arose such a clatter
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the kitchen I flew like a flash
Tore open the icebox then threw up the sash.
The marshmallow look of the new-fallen snow
Sent thoughts of a binge to my body below.

When what to my wandering eyes should appear:
A marzipan Santa with eight chocolate reindeer!
That huge chunk of candy so luscious and slick
I knew in a second that I'd wind up sick.

The sweet-coated santa, those sugared reindeer
I closed my eyes tightly but still I could hear;
On Pritzker, on Stillman, on weak one, on TOPS
A Weight Watcher dropout from sugar detox.

From the top of the scales to the top of the hall
Now dash away pounds now dash away all.
Dressed up in Lane Bryant from my head to nightdress
My clothes were all bulging from too much excess.

My droll little mouth and my round little belly
They shook when I laughed like a bowl full of jelly.
I spoke not a word but went straight to my work
Ate all of the candy then turned with a jerk.

And laying a finger beside my heartburn
I gave a quick nod toward the bedroom I turned.
I eased into bed, to the heavens I cry
If temptation's removed I'll get thin by and by.

And I mumbled again as I turned for the night
In the morning I'll starve... 'til I take that first bite!

A row of bottles on my shelf
Caused me to analyze myself.
One yellow pill I have to pop
Goes to my heart so it won't stop.
A little white one that I take
Goes to my hands so they won't shake.
The blue ones that I use a lot
Tell me I'm happy when I'm not.
The purple pill goes to my brain
And tells me that I have no pain.
The capsules tell me not to wheeze
Or cough or choke or even sneeze.
The red ones, smallest of them all
Go to my blood so I won't fall.
The orange ones, very big and bright
Prevent my leg cramps in the night.
Such an array of brilliant pills
Helping to cure all kinds of ills.
But what I'd really like to know . . .
Is what tells each one where to go!

God: Hello. Did you call me?
Me: Called you? No... Who is this?

God: This is GOD. I heard your prayers.
So, I thought I will chat.
Me: I do pray. Just makes me feel good.
I am actually busy now.

God: What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.
Me: Don't know. But, I can't find free time.
Life has become hectic. It's rush hour all the time.

God: Sure. Activity gets you busy.
Productivity gets you results.
Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.
Me: I understand. Yet, I still can't figure out. By the way,
I was not expecting YOU to call me on instant messaging chat

God: I wanted to solve your fight for time, by giving you some
clarity. In this internet era, I wanted to reach you
through the way in which you would understand.

Me: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?
God: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis makes it
complicated.

Me: Why are we constantly unhappy?
God: Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about
yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing.
Worrying has become your habit. That's why you are not
happy.

Me: How can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?
God: Uncertainty is inevitable. Worrying is optional.

Me: There is so much pain due to uncertainty.
God: Pain is inevitable - it will come. Suffering is optional,
you can choose.

Me: If suffering is optional, why do good people also suffer?
God: Diamonds cannot be polished without friction.
Gold cannot be purified without fire.
Good people go through trials, but, don't suffer.
With that experience, their life becomes better,
not bitter.

Me: You mean to say such experience is useful?
God: Yes. Experience is a hard teacher.
She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.

Me: Still, why should we go through such tests?
Why can't we be free from problems?
God: Problems are purposeful roadblocks offering beneficial
lessons to develop strength.
Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance,
not when you are free from problems.

Me: Frankly, in the midst of so many problems,
we don't know where we are heading ...
God: If you look outside, you will not know where you are going.
Look inside.
Looking outside, you dream.
Looking inside, you awaken.
Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.

Me: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than
moving in the right direction. What should I do?
God: Success is a measurement decided by others.
Satisfaction is a measurement decided by you.
Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying.
You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.

Me: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?
God: Always look at how far you have come rather than how far
you have to go.
Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.

Me: What surprises you about people?
God: When they suffer they ask, "Why me?"
When they prosper, they never ask "Why me?"
Everyone wishes to have truth on their side.
Few want to be on the side of the truth.

Me: Sometimes, I ask, "Who am I? Why am I here?"
I can't get the answer.
God: Seek not to find who you are, but, to determine who you
want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are
here. Create it.
Life is not a process of discovery.
It's a process of creation.

Me: How can I get the best out of life?
God: Face your past without regret.
Handle your present with confidence.
Prepare for the future without fear.

Me: One last question. Sometimes, I feel my prayers are not
answered.
God: There are no unanswered prayers. At times, the answer is
"NO."

Me: Thank you for this wonderful chat.
God: Well, keep the faith and drop the fear.
Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve.

Trust me.

IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for
one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything just right.

There will always be another day
to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say
how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear

Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me"," "Thank you," or "It's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

What is the difference between men and women?

1. A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

2. Men wake up as good-looking as when they went to bed. Women somehow deteriorate during the night.

3. A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he wants. A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn’t want.

4. A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn’t. A man marries a woman expecting that she won’t change, and she does.

5. There are two times when a man doesn’t understand a woman- before and after marriage.

WHERE HAVE ALL THE GRANDMAS GONE??

In the dim and distant past, when life's tempo wasn't so fast,
Grandma used to rock and Knit, Crochet, Tat and baby sit,
When the kids were in a jam, They could always call on Gran,
But todays she's in the gym exercising to keep slim, she's checking the web or surfing the net,
Sending some emails or placing a bet,
Nothing seems to stop or block her,
Now that Grandma's off her rocker. (rocking chair)

Please keep me young,

The following Poem was posted on another Team. I thought it was worth sharing:

GIVE A LITTLE ROCK TO A FRIEND.

I'm a little diet rock, As cute as I can be.
Although I'm sweet to look at, I'm both fat and sugar free.
When you get up each morning, Lift me high in the air, and set me on the floor 10 times, before sitting on your chair.
Please place me on the table, at the place you plan to eat. Then remember that I'm watching, What you do and what you eat.
When you are serving your plate, Please leave my section free, and I'll reduce the calories, by the space you leave for me.
After you have eaten, although I'm just a rock, Please slip me in your pocket and take me for a walk.
If you do this faithfully, then in a month or two, Although I'll be just the same you'll be a slimmer "YOU"

Maybe we should all adopt a pet rock. I do have a worry stone that I carry but never thought of looking at it this way. It is probably to small anyway. lol.

Things to Remember

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.

If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.
He sends you flowers every spring.
He sends you a sunrise every morning.
Whenever you want to talk, He listens.
He can live anywhere in the universe,
but...He chose your heart.
And...that thing He did at Calvary...
Face it, friend - He is crazy about you!

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without
sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise
strength for the day,
comfort for the tears,
and light for the way.

That's why I'm single again. I couldn't find all those qualities in one man.

Five tips for a woman....

1. It is important that a man helps you around the house and has a job.

2. It is important that a man makes you laugh.

3. It is important to find a man you can count on and doesn't lie to You.

4. It is important that a man loves you and spoils you.

5. It is important that these four men don't know each other!

The Truth About Diet and Exercise
Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it. Don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have body fat, your ratio is one to one If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!. Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO ... Cocoa BEANS ... another vegetable! It's the best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets And remember "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - beer in one hand, burger in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming - WOO HOO! What a RIDE

ISN'T THIS THE TRUTH ??????

you may need to stop at the women's restroom . . . be prepared!

When you have
to visit a public bathroom, you usually find a line of women, so you smile
politely and take your place. Once it's your turn, you check for feet under the
stall doors. Every stall is occupied.

Finally, a door opens and you dash in, nearly knocking down the
woman leaving the stall.

You get in to find the door won't latch. It doesn't matter, the
wait has been so long you are about to wet your pants! The dispenser for
the modern "seat covers" (invented by someone's Mom, no doubt) is
handy, but empty. You would hang your purse on the door hook, if there was one,
but there isn't - so you carefully, but quickly drape it around your neck, (Mom
would turn over in her grave if you put it on the FLOOR!), yank down your pants, and assume
" The Stance."

In this position your aging, toneless thigh muscles begin to
shake. You'd love to sit down, but you certainly hadn't taken time to wipe the
seat or lay toilet paper on it, so you hold "The Stance."

To take your mind off your trembling thighs, you reach for what
you discover to be the empty toilet paper dispenser. In your mind, you can hear
your mother's voice saying, "Honey, if you had tried to clean the seat,
you would have KNOWN
there was no toilet paper!" Your thighs shake more.

You remember the tiny tissue that you blew your nose on yesterday
- the one that's still in your purse. (Oh yeah, the purse around your neck,
that now, you have to hold up trying not to strangle yourself at the same
time). That would have to do. You crumple it in the puffiest way possible. It's
still smaller than your thumbnail .

Someone pushes your door open because the latch doesn't work. The
door hits your purse, which is hanging around your neck in front of your chest,
and you and your purse topple backward against the tank of the toilet.
"Occupied!" you scream, as you reach for the door, dropping your
precious, tiny, crumpled tissue in a puddle on the floor, lose your footing
altogether, and slide down directly onto the TOILET SEAT. It is wet of course. You bolt
up, knowing all too well that it's too late. Your bare bottom has made contact
with every imaginable germ and life form on the uncovered seat because YOU
never laid down toilet paper - not that there was any, even if you had taken
time to try. You know that your mother would be utterly appal led if she knew,
because, you're certain her bare bottom never touched a public toilet seat
because, frankly, dear, "You just don't KNOW what kind of diseases you could
get."

By this time, the automatic sensor on the back of the
toilet is so confused that it flushes, propelling a stream of water like a fire
hose against the inside of the bowl that sprays a fine mist of water that
covers your butt and runs down your legs and into your shoes. The flush
somehow sucks everything down with such force that you grab onto the empty
toilet paper dispenser for fear of being dragged in too.

At this
point, you give up. You're soaked by the spewing water and the wet toilet seat.
You're exhausted. You try to wipe with a gum wrapper you found in your pocket
and then slink out inconspicuously to the sinks.

You can't figure out how to operate the faucets with the
automatic sensors, so you wipe your hands with spit and a dry paper towel and
walk past the line of women still waiting.

You are no longer able to smile politely to them. A kind soul at
the very end of the line points out a piece of toilet paper trailing from your
shoe. (Where was that when you NEEDED
it??) You yank the paper from your shoe, plunk it in the woman's hand and tell
her warmly, "Here, you just might need this."

As you exit, you spot your hubby, who has long since entered,
used, and left the men's restroom. Annoyed, he asks, "What
took you so long, and why is your purse hanging around your neck?"

This is dedicated to women everywhere who deal with a public
restrooms (rest??? you've GOT to be kidding!!). It finally explains to the men
what really does take us so long. It also answers their other commonly asked
questions about why women go to the restroom in pairs. It's so the other
gal can hold the door, hang onto your purse and hand you Kleenex under the
door!

This HAD to be written by a woman! No one else could describe it so accurately!

You could curse and complain about your feebleness, or you can get busy and make yourself stronger. You could seethe with resentment about the past, or you can make the choice to let go and move forward.

You could worry endlessly about what might or might not happen, or you can take steps to successfully prepare yourself for anything that comes along. You could make a long list of all the things that will perhaps go wrong, or you can accept the fact that there will be obstacles and decide to deal with them as they come.

You could hide away from the world inside the walls of your comfort zone where nothing challenges you. Or you can make use of every second of your precious time to explore and experience, to get cold, wet, and dirty, and to feel wonderfully alive.

You could let the smallest defeat turn into a big, imposing excuse for giving up. Or you can learn from what went wrong and then step enthusiastically forward with your newfound knowledge and determination.

You could smugly blame all your troubles on something or someone other than you. Or you can take a long, deep breath, then take full responsibility, and feel how empowering it is to be in total control.

There are lots of things you could have been, could have done, could have seen, could have known, and could have experienced. Yet nothing compares to the wondrous places you'll go when you do what you know you can.

If my body were a car, ... this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model.

I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish, and my paint job is getting a little dull, ... but that's not the worst of it.

My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close.

My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things, ... even in the best of weather.

My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins. It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel burns inefficiently.

But here's the worst of it, ...

Almost every time I sneeze, cough, or sputter,

either my radiator leaks ...

or my exhaust backfires !!!
