when I first started...I did great...tracked everyday and kept up with it. Then I slacked off for a long time. When I returned to SP I noticed that for me, I did much better when I logged in my intake and exercise. I know it sounds silly, but earning the points and "goodies" and seeing the results were much more of an inspiration for me. Now, I don't track like I did when I returned to SP because my diet and exercise routine doesn't alter enough of change for me to not be able to keep up with my intake at my own. I can now determine everyday a good balanced healthy eating habit and stay with in my calorie range.
So, yes...for me in the beginning learning the basic tools, it made a difference. I still like to earn points, I just don't earn like I did before.... emoticon

agree, sometimes the ones closest to us don't always know the best way to motivate us. this place offers so much information, and if we check in regularly and take it seriously, it is a good reminder of our goals.
at the same time, it is very easy to slip up though. sometimes i do find that if i check in less frequently but keep myself on track i can still manage. as long as i don't abandon and give up on it all.
i just have to remind myself that slip ups are okay once in a while and that in the big picture if we are trudging along that is okay. we are human, and bound to have slip ups.

Here I know people want similar goals: healthy life. Family asks "why are you so hard on yourself" and at the same time getting mad at me for being at the weight I am. Not complaining though, they don't know better. They're trying to "motivate" me.
On here I see people doing so many healthy things it helps me stay on track.

salaam friends
does anyone notice a correlation between sparkpeople and your daily life, exercise, and nutrition?
do you have any personal experiences, in terms of your actions towards achieving goals and logging into sparkpeople?
just curious about how everyone is doing when they are on sparkpeople and off.
