Stacy, I went and looked at your artwork. It is fantastic. I too enjoy painting portraits and as you said, "It doesn't pay the bills." I have been unable to get a commission; however, I have been very successful giving away portraits of family members, great grandkids, etc. I wish you loads of success.

Hello everyone! I'm new to the team (have been on SparkPeople since February 25th, but it didn't occur to me to search for a team of art-lovers until now) :-)
I hope you guys like a lot of color! I'm kind of obsessed with color, but I'm trying to learn to tone it down for more variety, as well as trying to learn to make more use of contrast.

I like seeing the art on this site. As a high school art teacher for 30 years, I taught that art strengthens thinking processes, enlightens both the doer and the viewer, and is a positive hobby. Yay, art!
