No they just give small gifts of things like gold coins (sometimes not even real coins but you know what I mean), fragrance or some other things that fall in line with the gifts of the three kings. Last year I know instead of doing specific things like this they just gave three small gifts to their three kiddos. :)

That's not surprising since the Episcopalian rites and traditions are still so very much like the Catholic ones. What exactly does your friend do for the Epiphany? Does she leave shoes out and get gifts in the in the morning? My mom grew up doing this in the Dominican Republic. I'm all about starting some family traditions. I just want them tied to truth. I don't want random silly things like the Easter bunny...unless there is something there i don't know about! ;)

We put up the Advent wreath. Because I am so busy with other things we are putting off putting up the tree until after next week. I'm in school right now and I'm having to get ready for finals next week. Also I'm selling crafts at the Altar & Rosary Society big Christmas party on Saturday so I'm making my stuff to sell. That means nothing up except the Advent wreath right now. ;)

We've never done much on Epiphany but it is something I've thought about doing for a long while. My dearest friend who is Episcopal and her family DO celebrate on Epiphany so it is not just Catholic. ;)

I put up the Christmas tree. Should I do the Advent wreath and then put up the tree on Christmas eve next time? And what about the Epiphany? Do y'all do anything special then? I WOULD like to celebrate two long seasons - Advent and then Christmas, since Christmas BEGINS on Christmas Day. Secularly it ends that day...I'd like more Catholic tradition. What do y'all think? Don't really want to take the tree back down now...

Well, we change the candles on the mantelpiece to purplefor Advent, hang purple garlands, and do the Advent wreath.

Ladies I am wondering what type of preparations you are going to do for the season? I am trying to make a few lists of things to do for it. :)
