Keep in Mind that every roll of fat on your body came from something that you chose to put in your mouth , and every pound that slips away is the result of a decision that you made .

I love Jazzercise! To repeat what a lot of people have already said on this thread, I have tried so many different exercise regimens, but Jazzercise is the only one I have ever been able to stay with long-term. With the others, I would start to make excuses as to why I couldn't go that day - maybe I wasn't feeling well, maybe something else came up...but with Jazzercise, it was the opposite. I actually planned my schedule around classes and turned down other requests if they interfered with my class schedule.

Why? The music is so great, it is easy to follow along to the routines with the instructor, and I love to dance. I also love that it encompasses an entire full-body workout in one hour.

I wish I had discovered it earlier in life!

I have tried different workout programs over the years and Jazzercise is the ONLY one I've ever been able to stick with. I think the main reason is that it's fun and doesn't seem like it's exercise. It's a way for me to be social as well. And of course the music is always great! The instructors at my center are wonderful also. emoticon

I've been Jazzercising faithfully for 30 years wherever I go, because it's the most fun and enjoyable way to keep fit physically, mentally and spiritually that I know. I've made so many good friends through the years who love it just as much as I do. It keeps me feeling young!

I LOVE Jazzercise - and have loved it off and on for almost 20 years. I just rejoined last week after my most recent 5 year absence. In between I went to Curves for about a year and had to quit because of finances. Then I walked off and on. Jazzercise is fun, and I love that it changes regularly so you don't get in a rut with the routines. I missed my "dancer's legs", and the energy I had - looking forward to getting both back. I find myself smiling through the routines, and have a bounce in my step as I leave. emoticon

I Jazzercise because it it is so much more than strength training, cardio and stretching. It is such a wonderful support system with a unique group of women. It is therapy on days when you just need to be with a positive group to bring you out of a funk! I can't survive without it or my fellow Jazzercisers! Thank You.

I just went for the first time yesterday. I have to agree that I thought this was geared towards 50+ and thought it would be a lower impact type work out. Boy was I wrong! The class kicked butt! Great music, great work out - cardio, yoga, weights - and it was fun! The leader would also show lower impact versions for those who needed or wanted it. I cannot wait to go back again tomorrow and join! (yesterday was a free trial class).

I LOVE Jazzercise! I really don't think that I will ever step foot into a gym again, at least on a regular basis! :) Jazzercise to me is an escape. I usually go after my workday, and it relieves all the stress of having to sit in an office chair all day. The ONLY time my mind is a complete blank, is when I'm jazzercising, and that is the greatest feeling in the world! I love not having to fumble with downloading new music into an I-pod, because it's already there. I also love being able to meet and work out with faces that are familiar to me week after week. I feel better and have tons of energy since starting Jazzercise, and I aspire to be an instructor someday :)

Hi everyone! I LOVE jazzercise & I am hoping it will lead me to a leaner me! I have been going off & on for a little less than a year. I started from a Groupon & was hooked. The "off" time was due to sickness, but I am back in it & full steam ahead. I am glad that I found this group to share my love of this way of working out!!! I am just getting started on Spark to help me achieve my goal of losing 20lbs.

I find Jazzercise to be so much fun that it isn't like HAVING to exercise. I WANT to exercise. I took my first Jazzercise class alone. Now I go in and it is like a mini family. I know most of the ladies there. I have created friendships and support systems with people there and I look forward to seeing them there everyday.

A friend of mine suggested Jazzercise when I was telling her how tired of the gym I was. My first reaction was "isn't that an old ladies workout with boring music"? Oh my was I wrong. After my first class I was hooked. I laughed, did alot of breathing and sweating, and was sore the following day. I went back that week and experienced, it was not a once in lifetime experience. I had the same experience everytime I went to class. I started getting to know the ladies--which were all different ages, my age (early 30's) and a few younger and a few older. Everyone made the workout work for them by adjusting the impact levels. After 2 years, and another baby, I decided since i was going so much that I should be an instructor and get paid to be there. I have now taught for 4 years and STILL love it! Great music, Great LADIES, great moves, great workout, GREAT FUN! emoticon

I re-joined Jazzercise in January after being away from it for, oh ..... 20+ years! I had been working out at home w/workout DVDs - but after doing them for so long, had started dreading my workout time. I think that at a big full service workout gym, the classes would be hit or miss - I absolutely love that you can tailor your Jazzercise workout high or low impact and it's actually FUN! Great for those workout endorphins and I'm energized vs being drained after the class. So glad I rediscovered Jazzercise!

My sister's boyfriend's aunt (along with her daughter) regularly attends the Jazzercise at the location closest to my home. My sister decided to try it (we are always looking for fun and exciting new ways to add cardio and strength training!) and I tagged along. Both of us ended up getting a full year membership!

We go at least 5 times a week to enjoy the music, company of other people who are trying to lose weight and/or stay fit and hang out together since both of our schedules are crazy busy! It is inspiring to see all different ages coming together to Jazzercise! emoticon emoticon

Jazzercise was the only exercise program I've ever stuck with in my life. I did it for 3 1/2 years, was a member of the 200 club, until I broke my foot so severely, I couldn't work out for several months, then I developed heel spurs, one that eventually needed surgery last year. In the time I was away, I gained 92 lbs. I'm down almost 70 and will be re-joining my beloved Jazzercise shortly (I just started a new job this past week and need to figure out the drive times and availability).

I think I loved Jazzercise so much because it makes me feel like a dancer, it teaches real dance moves that you can use outside of exercising, the classes are just fun!

Jazzercise is my favorite workout! I am in my 50's and find that it is the BEST for great fun, a great workout and awesome class members!

However, I really struggle with how to count Jazz classes on SparkPeople. It looks (from my stats) that I don't exercise at all when, in reality, I attend 8 or more Jazz classes a week!

Good luck to all who just joined or are considering joining--you are making the right choice!

Thank you for the welcome. You're right; I will be careful! Some of the quick pivots make my knees feel as if they're getting strained so I'm trying to figure out a way to modify some moves. My feet were hurting and I discovered that they don't hurt(much) when I wear thinner socks. It's a process!

I love all these stories!

I also love the relationship I get in Jazzercise.

I love the stress relief.

I also love the great reason it gives me to leave the office on time every single day.

I love when people come up to me and tell me that I gave them a great workout.

I love when people tell me that I inspire them. I can't believe it. I've never been anyone special that impacted anybody. But as a Jazzercise instructor, I've been able to inspire. Amazing.

I've Jazzercised off and on in my adult life. As a young woman newly married, it was something for me and a friend to do on Saturday mornings. As a young mother, it was something for me to do with a coworker after work on Wednesdays.

I quit, haven't Jazzed for 10 years.

I decided to give it another try, and I love it and will stay! It's 60 minutes of me time that I don't have to worry about the dog or the family. And the other ladies are around my age, which makes it nice. My SIL goes also, and we've bonded over Jazzercise.

Love it love it love it!! emoticon

I live in Indonesia and attend a local ladies aerobics group which is pretty close to jazzercise. I have attended about 3 years and have found great weight loss success and enjoying getting to know the various ladies who attend. My HRM shows that I get a great workout and burn tons of calories 600-800 in an hour session. I have several DVD's but none of them give me the same results and the social connections are fun.

I jazzercise because I love to dance, I love the music and both of those things motivate me to make it through the work out. I need that work out! Oh! And, I also like the social aspect!

I joined Jazzercise about 2 weeks ago and I totally love it! I've gone 9 times and it totally is the funnest workout! It's amazing for stress, gives me a social outlet, and most of all me time. It's not everyday you can smile while exercising!

Only I can do this for me, not my children, not my husband. I am accountable for what I put in my mouth :)

I jazzercise because it is the most fun workout I have found!! I love to dance, I love the friendships you make...there is nothing I don't love about jazzercise!! Due to my work schedule, I was having difficulty making it to classes and started going to the gym to walk on the treadmill and lift...it was NOT any fun in comparision. However, it made me reassess my schedule and be deliberate in my attempts to get to jazz 3 or 4 times a week! I haven't stopped doing the treadmill either! I have 25 more pounds to lose!

What's not to love. I am always adding music from class to my ipod and now I have several friends who go too. I love that I sweat and that I feel it most of the time, but it isn't unbearable. I can do it again the next day and feel even better.
I do have to say that my favorite part are the days that my best friend is the instructor. All of our instructors are awesome, but my friend and maid of honor is the best. ;)

I do it because I LOVE to dance, you get to dance to a variety of music and most of all, it's FUN! It's never boring and the instructors I have encourage us to get the most out of our workouts. we make lot's of noise at our workouts, which makes it even more fun!

I love Jazzercise because I love to dance! It is the most fun I ever have while working out, even though I may not be the best dancer... I also like it because I go with my mom and it's something fun and healthy for us to do together emoticon

It's lots of fun, great workout, and I figure if something related to fitness has been around for almost as long as I've been alive there is probably something to it!

I do it because I enjoy it and it actually help me get fit & toned!!! Funny how people always make stupid comments like: "You go to Jazzercise? OMG, that is so old and funny"...yet the jokes on them...lol! I am fit, healthy, almost forty and look 20 something....and they are younger (around 30 to 35) and look like 50...buahhhaaaa!!!! No offense to the 50 young ladies that Jazzercise...because at 50 you look like 40...enough said!!! I will keep Jazzercising 4EVER!

For an exercise class to be successful, it needs to be enjoyable, accessible and economical. My Jazz class fits all the above.

It's a great workout, never boring and I love the music, the people in the class and everything about it really!

I love jcising for the health benefits. I am stronger and can walk briskly without getting winded. I love the music and the moves...dont love the lunges while I am doing them, but I see the payoff in the mirror and in my clothes. Been going off and on for 10+ years...more on for the last 4+.

i've been going to jazzercise off and on for the past 5 years. it's the only form of exercise i've found that i enjoy and actually MISS when i'm not doing it. there's no other activity that keeps me motivated like jazzercise. i love the music, i love the dancing, i love the energy of the group.

and, my kids love going with me and playing with the other little ones in the childcare room. it's a great way to get my exercise in while taking a mommy sanity break. emoticon

One of my favorite things about Jazzercise is that we "dance" to current music. Then when I am with my teen daughters and we hear one of the songs I say, "ooh I do Jazzercise to this" and then I proceed to "dance" to the song for them. You should see the eyes roll! LOL! emoticon

It is fun!
It never gets boring.
It works all the muscle groups and burns a lot of calories in one session.
I love to dance.
When I feel crappy, I can go and I feel 100% better.
It keeps me sane.
And I can plan my "naughty" days to burn enough calories to have a "treat" (ice cream, sweets, higher carbs, etc.)

I love Jazzercise because I can let go and have fun, knowing that my instructor has prepared a challenging workout that will whip me into shape! I will never go back to planning out boring workouts to be carried out in a gym. Also, when I switched from the everyday gym routine to Jazzercise class, I gained muscle really quickly and saw wonderful improvements in my figure.

I love Jazzercise!!! I've been a student for 8 yrs...and I still love going. Its always new and fresh and fun! Love the music...all of it....and the moves. The best thing I ever did was Personal Touch. I've built alot of muscle and love the definitions in my arms and legs. I try and burn 300 calories per class. I have a Polar heart rate monitor and never workout without it!

I started about 6 wks ago. I didn't want to go a gym, and wanted something cheap and motivational. It took me a long time to work up the nerve just to observe the class. I loved it instantly, and joined that night. It gives motivation that I need, and seeing the other people is really encouraging. Some of the others in the class have been doing it over 20 years! WOW. Plus many of them are in their 60s+!!

Now whenever I hear a song with a good beat I am moving, even when cooking dinner to the radio!

The Info here is from when I started SparkPeople in 2009:

I Jazzercise because it is fun! It also helps me maintain my weight loss. The variety keeps it interesting. I also do Personal Touch through Jazzercise and it's the best money I have ever spent.

I have made many new friends through Jazzercise and plan to continue Jazzercising for ever!

I was just introduced to Jazzercise last week by a friend from work! Lets just say I'm hooked! I loved everything about it! It was so fun, yet a really great workout too! For me it was nice to have fun while working out instead of just thinking "Am I done yet"? What a great change of pace! This came at just the right time for me as well! I was just considering getting a gym membership but wasn't really convinced that I'd go. I know I'll show up to Jazzercise! In fact after one class I've already made arrangements for my kids 2 days a week so that I can go!!

Believe in yourself, believe that you are worth all of the work and time and great things will happen!

Not really into traditional gym exercises but needed some motivation. Jazzercise not only keeps me in shape, but reduces stress and is a great way to meet nice people. For me it is close to home and the instructors are friendly. What more could a person want from an exercise class? emoticon

I do it because it helps me with my weight loss goals, but it is also one of the few places were I can dance and feel strong when I leave. I know I have worked all of my muscles well, including my heart.

It is the best addiction I have. Got to meet Judy last month...check out the video from her visit to Atlanta. This is the center that I go to.

I keep jazzercising because it helped me lose my last 20 pounds! The center in Fairbanks Alaska was so high energy and the added stregth training really took me to the next level in my fitness journey.

I am now back in canada and became an instructor this fall! I have a lot of happy women in the small town where I live- the jazzer-bug is spreading ;)

I actually read about it in the book, "Secrets of a Former Fat Girl" The author described how it helped her ease into exercising, which then of course made her love to exercise and try more things (such as running).

I joined to lose weight and have fun working out!

I was looking for some exercise and my niece asked me to go to Jazzercise with her. (The joke in our family is we do things as a pack.) Now that niece is an instructor and her sister comes to class too. We're working on their mother now. It's just so much fun plus I've made all kinds of new friends.

Another benefit was someone from class suggested we try out this website called Sparkpeople and the Jazzercise spark team so here I am!

I know some women who swear that Jazzercise works best out of all the other exercise they do to help keep them toned (read: not so flabby & jiggly).
Losing wieght was my number one reason for trying Jazzercise, but now I do it soley for the fun of dancing. I like to imagine that the stands are full and I'm one of the back-up dancers to a big showbiz singer!!

Of course, if my husband or daughter knew that they would be rolling on the floor laughing, so I'll just keep that our little secret.

So what makes you love Jazzercise (or at least motivates you to do it) ??
