Living in Florida, the seasons don't really affect my exercise plans. The only problem I have is when our temps reach 90s and higher; I just can't take exercising in the heat.

I have not been feeling well since New Year's and not exercising at all. However, usually, I much prefer walking outdoors this time of year. It is my favorite exercise. Normally, I walk four miles at 7 a.m. on Saturday with other Sparkers. We walk early to avoid the heat.
We have a lot of pollen this year already which means I walk on the treadmill other days. I am trying to walk 10,000 steps per day and actually bought a fitbit to measure. I had also been attending water aerobics classes twice a week until this cold/bronchitis thing started and now I am looking forward to getting back in the pool this week.

One day at a time; one pound at a time.

I guess the weather here in MN has been typical for Winter even though we haven't had a typical winter in a long time. I've been relying on my treadmill alot this winter. Last Winter I walked almost every day outside. Looking so forward to Spring!

It's cold here in chicago, was 60 earlier in the week. We will have some snow.
I usually get out and go cross country skiing in the winter a few times. love summer and autumn hikes. I exercise indoors on my elliptical and stationary bike which are in my basement. I have to get more types of exercise in, no progress on shaping my body after cancer, just weight maintenance, building muscle, but I feel over-weight.

Usually in CO in the winter we get several good snow storms. So far only 2 and they weren't great. It has also been unseasonably warm. But then again we have also had spurts of very cold weather. But it's very unusual to go very long before seeing that beautiful blue sky!

Normally, we have mild winters. Some winters we will have maybe 2-8"
of snow in a year. Other winters we our temperatures are in the 20's and
can get down to zero. This year we had lots of rain, so unusual. We've
had three skiffs of snow. I don't exercise outside in the winter, as cold
and rain makes my bones ache.

With Mom being in the nursing home now, I get lots of running and lots of
extra duties to do. I can hardly keep up with all of it. I feel I get lots of
walking exercise and other tasks to count as exercise. I am really tired
at the end of every day.

It has been beautiful here, almost spring like. The San Francisco Bay area is always gorgeous and I live right outside of there. It was in the high 60's today so I was able to get out and walk and then I took my grandson to the park for a little picnic outside. I will walk whenever the weather is good!!! I'd rather do that than any thing else. Get out and commune with nature.

I think I can. I know I can. I will.

It's been cold here -- in the 20s today. Monday we had an ice storm. I don't usually exercise outside much any time of year because I have allergies. I'm still going to the gym, doing my 30 minute walk during lunch & if I don't feel like going to the gym, I'll come home & do either Coach Nicole's Body Sculpting DVD or the 28-day Bootcamp DVD.

Blessings,
Nillapepsi (Sheila) :-)

In SW Missouri, we have wild weather. Last week, and later this week, it's supposed to be in the 50s. One day last week, we had an all-time record high for January. But last night, it was 5 degrees and we have snow covering the ground. On Weds, we got snow pellets - round, white, not-quite-snow, not-exactly sleet. Ten miles away, they got none.

So this makes outside exercise an adventure. I make sure to walk on my treadmill when it's this cold or windy, but love walks outside with my dogs.

The weather has been positively beautiful in my area!! But since I live in SW Florida, that's to be expected, and why the population of Naples has just about doubled in the past month! This time of year is wonderful for exercising outside, both walking and biking, and I try to take advantage of it as much as possible. The only difference is that now I can do it at any point during the day, whereas once May hits, it's more comfortable to go out early and late.

How has the weather been in your area? have you been exercising indoors or out? Do you change your exercise routine as the season's change? emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
