It was a wonderful weekend. Saturday we went to visit my husbands 90 year old Grandma. She just had a mastectomy to remove a non cancerous lump. She looks great and her color came back, so we are happy for that. Then we celebrated birthdays with my family (of the 8 of us there are 5 birthdays in February). Sunday we sat around watching TV and then for dinner got our Valentine's Day tradition, a bucket of KFC (I know it's bad for you, but I don't eat the skin, and it's only once a year).

Hubby surprised me with a new phone, and a Butlers Essentials purse, I have wanted one forever, then we went to the mall and he bought me coffee and on the way home we stopped at the grocery store and I bought dinner, they have prepared food at this one. So it was an astounding day.
A Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. I'll be spending the day with the love of my life. Quiet time together is the high point of my week. I work Monday night but since I work as many weekends as I'm off it's not unusual. I've been away from you all for over a year. I'm glad to be back, hope that all of you are doing well. You are a special group and I've missed you.

The 13th was our 38th wedding anniversary and we stayed home and enjoyed the peace and quiet. I have a very stressful job and my DH had a recent heart attack. So....quiet and peaceful was good. Today we are going to get the groceries and then off to get some sushi. Tomorrow I don't work (banker's hours), but my DH does (teacher). So, tomorrow I am going to Yankee Candle with my best friend and out to celebrate a belated birthday lunch for me! Hope you all have a smurfy day!
Life should not be lived with the sole purpose of arriving at the grave in a perfect and well preserved body. Rather, you should skid in sideways totally used up, thoroughly worn out and loudly proclaiming, "Wow! What a ride!"
Not off on Monday, but enjoying the weekend! I got a 12 quart stock pot for Valentines Day!! (it was what I wanted, and picked it our for my husband to buy.) Have to admit I also got flowers......today has been so crazy I have no idea what we're doing tomorrow, maybe out to dinner (son is spending the afternoon with his girlfriend, first girlfriend on Valentines Day) and our middle child is on a sleep over, so that leaves just the youngest, I'll figure it out after church tonight!

We're having a pizza party here tody with the family. I made some homemade chocolate & put it in the freezer. I'm going to pull out some of this to give to my Mom for Valentine's Day.
Tomorrow, DH & I will have ribs. I scrapped a card for DH since I knew I wouldn't get out to buy one. He probably bought me a card & a box of candy. We'll see. LOL I'm on SSDI, so I'm not working Monday, but DH has to work.
