hi one;
thanks for the tip on the park
this park is okay, a little noisy (righ beside the road), but you could ask for anything closer to the town!

hi sharon;
lol.... we too wonder where our travels will take us. the general goal when we departed may 11 was newfoundland. the current general goal is forest city (to the winnebago factory). but any and all points in-between is up for discussion.
while in rehoboth beach, we decided to head south, not north as we first thought we'd do. thus we landed in williamsburg. we care currently thinking nashville, but that could change :-)

PDQ - I guess I have never asked where this trip will be taking you! I have loved following your travels and always wonder where to next!

ONE - Darn! No one likes to have to cancel reservations. At least you have your RV in getting the attention it needs so you can get back to the serious business of having fun in your RV!

we are having the brakes checked after driving in the mountains of West Virginia; meant we had to cancel our reservations for Newport News Park. We go there often; it's about a 15 minute drive from Williamsburg. you can drive down 143 (Jefferson Ave) and drive right by Newport News Park

Gosh, you should take your car and go visit Manhatten especially Ground Zero. Our daughter went there a few years ago took in a Broadway Musical and visited Ground Zero and said it's a must if you're in NY. AND The Statue of Liberty! So much history right where you are. I'd love to visit that area!

Well, in all your travels, it appears to me you stay in the type of RV resorts Norm and I like. We like to RV and not camp! We enjoy a nice park with big concrete slabs. Once in awhile we get in to what we deem "rustic campground" and Mama isn't happy!

My pet peeve though is the RV Resorts that advertise Free WiFi. They have WiFi and you can connect but it isn't strong enough to navigate around the internet! Unfortunately, Duck Creek was that type of park. I did bring my Verizon Jet Pak and could have used my lap top but I chose to go without for a few days.

Have a great day!

lol... glamping :')
we have a friend who refers to our motohoming as glamping. and another friend who refers to our motorhome as a 'condo-on-wheels'

we have stayed at serval 'high end rv resorts' - well that's what they call themselves - but only one rv park was in that league. the park was in dessert palms, ca. and the place was lovely. you could have eaten off the lawns. we only stayed there because we got a cheap deal for a four night stay. while it was a nice place, it was not worth the doubled (or tripled) nightly price to park for a few days. good thing we got a deal.

have a great day

Lucky you! We hope to get to Bar Harbour one day.

We did go to Duck Creek RV Resort last Sunday. It was a beautiful high end park so we said we were Glamping (Glamor camping) and enjoyed it very much. We never left the resort as there was plenty of activities and a beautiful pool. We came home on Thursday and will be home until we leave in Sep to meet the RV Enthusiast team members in Branson, MO.

We finally got our MH back yesterday! They did a good job replacing the back window but they cut it close. Today we are packing up and heading out tomorrow. I'm looking forward to a few days away as it's our first time out since getting home in May!

From your pictures it looks like you have had wonderful weather. What is the temps during the daytime? Our temps are cooler than normal, low 70's but we've had more than normal severe Thunderstorms in MI.

saturday was long. taking the ferry is a lot like flying... there's a lot of waiting to be done.

once off the ferry, stayed overnight at the arms of gold campground (its three miles from the ferry). then yesterday, drove to halifax where we are staying till friday :-)

I must admit I am seeing Newfoundland differently. I never realized just how beautiful it is.

Over the 4th of July, our MH got the back window blown out Busted in a million pieces. We suspect it was a firecracker gone astray but we'll never know for sure. It's in the RV dealership now for repair but they had to order the window which takes 3-4 weeks before they can repair it. It's costing over $1,000 to repair so we will be paying our $500 deductible - drat!

We have a scheduled outing the first week of August to Duck Creek RV Resort so we may have to pull it out from the dealership and take it back after our outing.

lol, it felt a little funny driving the motorhome the first day. very quickly you get back into the swing of it. I find it's like that when we stay two weeks or more in one spot - need to get your "driving legs" back.

right now we're parking along the exploits river. very pretty. hmmmm.... not sure there's any place in Newfoundland that's not pretty!

for sure, we are enjoying the full time experience / lifestyle :-)

hope you're having a great day Sharon
take care

yesterday we departed st john's and began driving west. this is our 'turn-around' point for we have driven as far east as we will go.
landed in bellevue beach. not much of a place as far as amenities go - but its the location!! we are right on the ocean - it is a spit of land - so water on both sides.

we landed in newfoundland july 1st. spent the first night in doyles. the next day we drove up the viking trail and spend three nights in rocky harbour, which is in the middle of grosmorne national park. from there we drove to gander (just overnighted there) and yesterday (sunday) we drove to st. john's, where we will be for the next 15 nights :-)

yesterday, canada day, we sailed from north sydeny, ns to port aux basques, nl and then we drove to doyles for the night. while it was a short mileage day, it was a long day (waiting to board the ferry and then the sailing time itself)

but we are here in newfoundland now emoticon

based on the places we've been, ferries are very expensive. the best prices are in washington state.

our temp today is to be in the high 70s ... sending you some sun shine emoticon

I assumed you would take the MH if you were going to stay but I thought perhaps it was just a day trip for you. The cost is a bit high but shoot, just crossing Lake Michigan on the ferry is over $350 per person. I know you will enjoy the whole trip. As for us, it's another rainy crappy day but we're going to a wedding reception this afternoon and that will be fun!

oh for sure the motorhome will be on the ferry - otherwise, lol, where would we live?
it is expensive ($928.28 total costs), but that's not really an important part of the adventure.
over sailing time is 5 hours. need to make the iPads and computer is fully charged :-)
it is open sea when you are underway - so nothing to go out on to the decks to see. will take pics as we leave port (its to be a beautiful day on tuesday)

hope you're having a great day

Such a fun adventure! Will you be taking your MH on the ferry? I would love to see pictures of that! Make your adventures continue without a problem.

we are now in little bras d'or and the arm of gold campground. we're here for three nights - then we board the ferry that sails out of north syndey to either port aux basques (the west side of newfoundland) or argentia (the east side of newfoundland). this campground is the closest one to the ferry, but also close to the town

hi Sharon - if you read the blog, i took a pic of the view from our table of the seafood restaurant we went to. the food was great.

on yesterday's drive, we ate a 'lobster roll'. never had it before (but would again). it was lobster salad (very light on the mayo) held together by a bun (it was like a hot dog bun).

sign are everywhere for lobster - which is $5.99 or $6.99 per pound.

hope you're having a great day.

Shediac sounds wonderful to me! I love lobster. So was it really good? Is it as expensive there as it is in the midwest? We tried to book sites at a local beach park and it is completely full. Everyone is out in their RV's but the price of gas is keeping them close to home!

Saint John looks like a wonderful city to explore! I would enjoy the open air market for sure! I hope your days of rain are over although right this minute we're getting a wild and crazy thunderstorm (probably shouldn't be on the computer)

I'll keep your secret but eating out is a major problem for a lot of us! However, it seems to be a way of life now days, especially with us and our retired friends. It's our way of socializing!

I'm not too familiar with Canada so I guess I need a map to follow where you are!

with yesterday's drive, the first hour was rain free :-)

we have landed in riviere-du-loop. we just had to go out for dinner to st huberts, a quebec chain, as that place makes excellent rotisserie chicken
(don't tell anyone with spark that i had this as for dinner :-)

indeed, we just motoring along :-)

yesterday we arrived at my sisters in prince edward county. we are "boon docking" - which for us that's being parked along side their garage, and having an extension cord so the fridge has electricity and we can make coffee in the morning
