Good morning:
Either they will have to start making economy Motor Homes or the GAS needs to drop. I can see a lot of Motor Homes may be a thing of the past. I hope it isn't in my life time. we have had the best of times in ours.

Yesterday was the last nice day for the year. So we pulled in all the lawn furniture and stored it away. We still can pull some chairs out and sit on the deck, just in case we have a couple of good days sneak in. Raining today so we did the right thing.

Cleaned inside the house and Larry blew the fir needles off the roof and driveway. Don't look bad around here if I do say so myself.

Sharon: I noticed you posted twice one day. So far everything is working fine from here. I hope you don't have more computer trouble. LOL
Yup, one week with you at TP they will remember me. Trust me. I leave a mark on people for some reason. tee he..

Until later, Chow

Ann....We know what you mean about the dwindling membership in all of the RV groups. We lost a Newmar full-timer officer last month and no one seems to want to step up to fill the vacancy. We were considering doing it, but are headed home to see what we need to do to help my sis and brother this year and the daughter with MS. I just didn't want to take on more than I feel I can handle.
Part of the problem is we don't have younger members joining up who can be energetic enough to take on the places left open and the economy has made people tighten their belts and stay home more. Hope it will loosen up soon....not to hopeful for that this year.
There are lots of Thousand Trails in the west and we will use those until we save up the funds to hit the road again next Fall. We have lots of friends planning to do the same thing, so we will get to see each other more....a good thing :) Will be going to the rally in Wyoming in June and that is our only planned trip for next summer.

Keep RV'in!!............Judy

Hi, team!

Ann, reading about your friends who had to give RVing reminded me of a friend who has run into complications from a hip replacement since the first of 2011. Five surgeries later...she and her hubby were finally able, and doctor recommended, to travel - the doctor said it would be good for her to get away, even with a wheelchair...her hip replacement is STILL not complete and it has truly been a medical nightmare. We never know, do we?

If you read my blog about the two ladies in my church who have taught me much about appreciation, the one with ALS has now passed away, also. I am sad for her family, and truly the disease was awful. She is the one who I have written about who helped to start our Domestic Violence Center in our county.

Our handbells are performing this morning for the first time for our new season. I asked to be a spare because of my tendonitis, but I have been needed from the first we began practicing and I am needing to play this morning, too! Oh, well...Youngest stepdaughter is still here - that's a good thing - and I am not sure what her plans are for taking off to go home. DH and DS are planning a football afternoon, and I will be walking and also getting some more free space in our house when I take items over to our church fellowship hall for our annual free garage sale. I have been putting clothing aside as I purge my closet and DH says for me to take some of his, too. So I am glad to help AND get room; that's a win/win, right?

Have a good day, all!

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

Good Afternoon. Gee, every one is so busy. Some working and others working around the house. I'm being lazy today. We were to go to the last Sat. of the month lunch with former Sq. dance friends and I begged off. My tummy didn't like something I ate last night. That rarely happens to me but thought I didn't need to add to the discomfort. I feel fine but eating very carefully. I told DH he could go if he wanted to and he did. That surprised me as I didn't think he enjoyed the group as much as I do.

We had a sad note from RV friends that live in San Jose. They are giving up RVing and have just about had to give their motor home away to sell it. We have been on several caravans with them and enjoyed them so much. That day will come soon enough for the rest of our group. Our state rally this fall has only approx. 50 rigs registered. In the past we would have 300. Our own local group is dwindling also. I don't think we've had a new member all year.
I just hope DH and I can travel a couple more years.

Ann

Ruthann, your son's throat clearing could be so many different things. One thing that does come to mind in allergies, but stress could play a definite role in it as well.

The coughing could be a number of things also, but the most prevalant one that comes to mind for a none smoker is acid reflux. It is a very common symptom. The throat clearing could come into that also.

I've had a lazy day at home today. It was nice, I don't remember the last time I just didn't leave the house all day. I did a few minutes on the treadmill, just trying to figure it out. I do have the manual on it, just haven't read it yet. Other than that, I got the dishes done and a load of laundry, but that's it. I've just laid around and been lazy today. I think I must have really needed it though. I've napped 2 or 3 times today. Robby is in his chair napping now, lol. He worked today and got home and hit the shower. They have been cleaning the tack/sleeping rooms and they tend to be really nasty. The guys were spraying for bugs today, so he came home feeling like he had bugs crawling all over him, lol. Poor baby. He has to go in and work again tomorrow. He will probably take Thur and Fri off along with Sat and Sun this week to make up for working straight through. I'll have to work, so we won't go anywhere, but he talked about getting the boat out. I hope he does, he needs to go and relax a little.

OK enough for now. Have a good evening.

OK, I just finished reading all the posts from this last week. For some reason they weren't coming through to me and I just didn't have time to sit down and go through the steps. I'm still getting used to my new schedule. And this coming week won't be much better. Monday & Tuesday will be the regular "work" days but Wednesday we'll do the bus route, then I have a dental appt, then we head out of town for a Bus Drivers workshop, then Thursday morning I have my TOPS meeting and directly from there I'll head to the "Hostfest" to work. Friday will be bus route and "Hostfest" again. Saturday will be "Hostfest" again. For those of you who don't know Hostfest is a huge Scandinavian festival that we have here every fall that brings in thousands of people from the states and Scandinavian countries. We're lucky to be able to have it this year after the disaster of the flood. We were not able to have the North Dakota State Fair because of the flood. So you can see what my up coming week will be like. This weekend I have to get a lot of things accomplished here at home because I don't imagine I'll get much time later.

Sharon - I'm glad the head ache is getting better. I've had similar problems at times so I know what you've been going through.

Jacque - glad you had a good visit.

OK, I'm trying to remember all I just read but can't. I'll have to do a better job of keeping up.

Arlene

Ruthann.......my Sis never has smoked... I did for 36 years before quitting 12 years ago and she's the one who got the cough. Seems unfair.

My son has the "clear the throat" whenever his allergies act up.....could that be the problem with your son?

We sound like the Mayo Clinic!!

Sharon......I hate when I lose posts. Have never figured out why it happens.

Now I am really irritated! TWICE, I have typed out a nice long message and when I go to post, I lose it! If it's SP, I don't know but geesh! I will try one more time but three strikes and I'm out.

It may be fall on the calendar but it doesn't feel like it here. We set a new record high yesterday (108) and could again today. We are slowly getting used to the heat and DH even suggested we go to the exercise room today.

Brenda - sorry for your ER visit once again. I don't blame you for being scared. Every time Norm has a physical issue, I worry it's his heart! My sister had an ER visit this summer if you remember and turns out it was a pinched nerve from carry a heavy purse.

Tammy - your busy weekend is in full swing I see so enjoy! If your stepdaughter is sincerely interested in losing weight, she will ask you about SP.

Judy - we also had a difficult time adjusting to all the time zone changes. The worst has been AZ which is the only state that does not observe daylight savings time! It gets dark so early in the evening. As for pasties, I love them. Norm doesn't! I think they are good filling comfort food.

Ruthann - I'm also glad it's working out that we can spend some time together again this year. It will be fun and Towerpoint will never be the same, lol.

Wish me luck as I'm hitting the post message button!

Good morning Spark Fans:

Yesterday I went to the gym and worked my knee again. It feels great this am. I guess the saying "You don't use it you'll loose it" pertains to my knee. Went to Olympia out to eat and I was very good. Salad and Fish. I gained a pound. It's OK I think it may come off today. The fish was fried but the flavor was delicious.

Sharron: I am glad to hear that you are feeling better. Is the pain all gone? Did you use Jacque (the witch doctor) remedy? tee he....I am looking forward to seeing you in January. It will be the highlight of my trip. We get along so well together. It should be fun! We will give Norm a run for his $. Ha.

Brenda: The car show sounds like a BIG one. I am so car showed out I couldn't care less if I ever saw another one. I think I have seen them all. At least on the West Coast.

Tammy: I finally got a flu shot. Gee you would think that they were gold. I have a medical supplement that everyone wants you to go to them to get a flu shot. So I gave in and went to them.. I tried at Safeway, my regular MD's office and no one help me out. So I had to go 20 miles to get it. (I won)

Judy: Coughing for your sister must be awful. Did or does she smoke? I know a problem my son has is he keeps clearing his throat. I don't know weather it is nerves or what? He had his sinuses done last year and it didn't help him. Your sister will be glad to see you especially if she is alone through all of this.

Well today we are taking in the lawn furniture. Looking at a lot of rain this week. I don't want everything wet so now is the time. We had such a short summer. When the West Coast finally had some good weather I was on the East Coast helping my kid.

Everyone have a fun day.

Well, on the road 6 hours yesterday...we stop a lot along the route. I cooked breakfast by a sandy beach on Lake Superior while the dogs had a "leash-free" romp on the beach. Got to Bessemer Mi. about 2PM and set the clocks back an hour...here we go with the changing time zones again :D. Messes with my sleep schedule and we have Mountain, Pacific and Daylight savings time to do in the next 60 days... I will be going to bed at 6 PM eastern and getting up at 2 AM, if I'm not careful!

Brenda...sorry to hear about your scare, but glad it wasn't worse that a pinched nerve. Keep us posted.

Sharon....we have lived in the MH full-time since August of 2007. Sold the house just 2 months before the market took a nose dive. We were very lucky.Glad you are starting to feel better now.

Ruthann......speaking of names, I have been trying to pronounce all the ones here. Lots of Native American influence in this area too. DSis isn't bad with the Parkinsons yet, and we hope meds can hold back the worst of the symptoms for awhile. Both of her daughters live far away, so not sure how that will work out later. Funny about the cough thing...she has had one for 25 years and the drs. can't figure out what's wrong. It really tires her out sometimes. Wonder if it's a mind induced thing? I am so fortunate to not have the health issues of my siblings and hope I can manage to stay healthy. Tried to get a flu/pneumonia shot yesterday, but they weren't starting until next week, so will get them further down the road. How are you doing with your knee?

We went into town last night for a fish fry at the VFW...very good, but I only ate one piece as I felt guilty. Will take the batter off and make a fish sandwich for lunch today. Also went to the bakery and bought 4 pastys (meat pies) to put in the freezer to have with a cup of soup for quick dinners. We have been seeing them in ads all over the place, so decided to give them a try.

Today we are just waiting for the clouds to clear off a little so we can go do the Copper Peak Adventure Ride before moving on again tomorrow. I'll work on photos to send home in the meantime. Have a good Fall Sat.......Judy

My youngest stepdaughter arrived yesterday evening, and we spent an hour or so visiting before bedtime. She and I are going to the mall this morning; she knows what she wants to get for my GD, but hasn't had a chance to buy it yet. The bridal shower is at 1 and then DH and I will be taking both his daughters out for dinner this evening. I hope it is some good two-on-one time with their dad!

I may have a chance to share this site with her; she remarked on my weight loss to her dad while I was in the bathroom last night, and he told her about Sparkpeople. So I guess, technically, he is the one who shared the spark!

Hard to believe this is the first day of fall. AND we had a brief shower. It lasted just long enough to make the drive way solid rain drops. DH was out walking but came home dry. He said he got under a tree. That always surprises me because we don't have a lot of trees. Most of the palm trees wouldn't do much to keep him dry.

RuthAnn, I'm going to see about a flu shot today also. Yesterday we got the list of places our health coverage sends us to for the shots. (all grocery store pharmacy's) I have two 'Larry's' in my family. DH and #1DS. Both are brousers and take forever looking at displays of any kind and also grocery shopping. I won't let DH go with me grocery shopping.

Sharon, I'm glad you are feeling better. DS cough went away I think with all the multiple of suggestions.

I'm going to see if I can get a ticker up. I hope it is a no brainer.

Ann

Good Morning!
Each day my tooth is feeling better so I am encouraged the dentist was right. I think Norm was also right about the headache as I was really stressed going into the chair, lol.

Today is laundry day for me but I'm going to wait and go to the nice a/c'd laundry room during the heat of the day. Nothing else on the agenda so it's the highlight of my day - NOT!

Ann - that was an interesting story about your DH's cough. Did the cough go away with the tips the dr suggested or just finally work out of his system?

Tammy - I'm glad your weekend has arrived. I hope you enjoy having your stepdaughter visit this weekend and no big surprises.

Ruthann - too funny! I can just picture Larry going through the fair looking at every single thing! It would drive me crazy. When Norm has to look at all the manly stuff, I just walk ahead and find a place that interests me. It sounds like you have a fun day planned so enjoy it.

Happy Friday everyone. Not that one day is much different than the next to me. I know some of you look forward to the weekend. emoticon I'm at work just waiting for people to come in and see me, lol. I probably won't have much today, but I have plenty of other things to keep me busy.

Ruthann, I'm glad your knee didn't bother you at all yesterday. Yes, I guess I'm still in the honeymoon phase, but if so I hope it stays that way forever, lol. Robby definitely appreciates when I get back after being gone and I'm always ready to get home. I think the longest we have ever been apart is 3 weeks and even then we talked every single day,at least once a day, if not more.

I hope everyone else has a wonderful day today. I better get to doing some actual work, lol.

Good Morning Good Morning:
Today is a busy day: Line dancing, gym, Walmart, Flu shot, bank. Maybe not in that order. I better write it down before I forget.

Judy: I am sorry to hear your sister has Parkinson's disease. Does she have help when you are not around? That is a tough one to handle for the patient.

Sharon: I hope this dentist is right on his diagnose. It seems funny that the headache is gone but the tooth ache is not? But I have never experienced such a thing so what do I know?
I went to the Fair and I didn't see half of it. Larry looks at every little thing and he is so slow. I think he is afraid that he is going to miss something. He did THE REST OF THE FAIR. We were there 6 hours and then had to leave because Cha Cha can only cross his paws for so long. The knee gave me NO problem.

Jacque: You sound like a witch doctor with the Grapefruit Seed Extract and saline. tee he
You must be still in your honeymoon stage. You will miss hubby but he sure will appreciate you when you get back.

Ann: there are lots of names in WA that are not only hard to spell but hard to pronounce. I have lived here 30 years and still have problems. Watching the news and weather helps.

Tammy: It is harder for me to get up in the mornings. It is totally dark out at 6am you can tell winter is creeping in. Yike. We only had 1 month of summer. Then the good days they had on the West Coast, I was on the East Coast.

Well my friends I need to get ready for my busy morning.
Chow

Ann, usually when I go to Tulsa, I leave on either Sat. night or early Sunday morning and come back on Tuesday, so this was actually a longer trip than normal, lol. I know it sounds bad, but I'm usually ready to go by then. I have no problems travelling by myself, but I do miss Robby when I'm gone.

Hi!

It was a hard day at work for some reason today. I haven't had that happen in a while, so maybe it was just me. Maybe I had just TOO good a day yesterday between the doctor being pleased, my Hobby Lobby bargains, my BB & B bargains, etc.

Now my weekend is here, though. We will see what happens with my stepdaughter coming in.

Boy, I over slept this morning and had to hurry to make my hair app't. I wanted to get two walks in with Leslie before I left. After the hair app't it was a stop at the produce store. Just as I was unloading my one bag at home DD pulls up for her mail. She was off for a mammogram and as she's going out the door she said she hoped she wouldn't get the same lady she had last time. I think we all can relate to that.

Jacque, enjoy the new treadmill. I have one in the garage gathering dust. DS took it for a while but brought it back. Now I think GS would use it so maybe we can get rid of it again. When I bought it at Sears it was a great bargain but they sure take up a lot of space. You sure make a quick trip to Ok.

RuthAnn don't you love the name Puyallup. Enjoy the fair.

Judy, you boat tour sounded wonderful. I agree you have found some very interesting things to visit.

Sharon, last year DS had a cough that lasted over a year and nothing worked to get rid of it. Not even multiple doctors. I suggested a neti pot but his doctor at the time said it might make his infection worse. One day a man came into his shop and they got to talking and he must have been coughing because the man said he was the Dr. in charge of the pulmonary unit at the VA hospital. He made some suggestions to DS and even gave him his card. It finally went away. I hope your infections leaves soon. I would think the hot weather would dry you up.

Good morning, at least for a few more minutes here.
I'm at work and trying to get all organized for the QH meet. I've pulled all the TB silks down and bagged the ones that haven't been picked up. I make a list of what I have and if anyone comes looking for them we know if they were left here or not. Now the pegs are empty to start putting up the silks for the next meet. I'll start on them probably tomorrow. I think I'm going to come in for a while on Saturday too, so I might wait and put them up then, when noone is here to interrupt me.

Sharon, I'm glad the headache is gone. Hope the sinuses start to clear up. The Neti pot should do the trick. You can add a couple of drops of Grapefruit seed extract to the saline and I bet it will clear up. Grapefruit seed extract is anti viral, anti fungal, anti septic. I use it as a natural antibiotic and have made a nasal spray out of it many times for sinus problems. It works really well for me. I take it when I think I'm getting sick, usually for a couple of days and then I'm good to go.

Ruthann, I'm glad you are having no pain in the knee today. I hope it continues to be pain free. I have great sympathy for people with knee pain, as I have had knee problems since I was a teenager. Most of the time they don't interfere with me, but on occassion I have tremendous problems with them.

Well, Robby is ready for lunch, so I'm off of here for now. Have a great day all.

Good Morning!
I'm still having pain with the tooth but the headache is gone and it's cooler this morning so I'm feeling better. Hopefully the pain in the tooth will let up soon.

Ruthann - I hope your knee pain lets up as well. It seems like so many people I know have had to have surgery on their knee this summer. Now I just found out another one of my male friends needs surgery and he's only in his 40's. So be careful pushing yourself too much or it could cancel all your plans for this winter!

Heather - I guess I wasn't surprised by the dentists verdict as several years ago my front teeth bothered me and the dentist also said it was my sinuses. In fact, at that time they were impacked and I had to go to a specialist and have them drained (not a pleasant experience). So I hope this all clears up on it's own. And yes, I'm familiar with the Nedi Pot and use it on a regular basis as well.

Jacque - Wow! a treadmill! You'll get some use out of that. I had a really nice one and sold it which I regret all the time. I also had a gazelle and gave to my DIL. Perhaps now that she's going to be my X-DIL, I can get it back from my son! Problem is - none of it fits in the MH. Oh well, at least I have the exercise room here at the resort.

Judy - the glass bottom boat tour sounds very interesting. You always find the fun stuff to do. When you go back to the WA area, will you remain living in your MH? It seems to me that you sold your home but I can't remember for sure.

Good morning...

Wow, everybody is really busy these days....I can't keep up :D

Sharon...hope you get the sinus' cleared up soon. That can be really painful.

Heather & Ruthann.....like they say "getting old is not for sissies" and I heartily agree! My knee & hand have been giving me trouble since we hit the rain again, and I will be in Wash. all winter...oh well, I'll have the GK to keep me busy. Can't complain, as my sis called last night and she has been diagnosed in the first stages of Parkinsons. It will be good we will be back there for awhile.

Mary.... we will be on the west coast from 12/11 to 9/12. Ore., Wash. and a trip to Wyoming in June for a rally, and then back to the coast. The temps usually hover around the 40's with rain and maybe 2 to 6 weeks of 30's. Don't usually get a lot of snow, but silver thaws are not uncommon. Love the area any time of year tho.

Jacque...glad you're back safe and sound. Did the visit surprise everyone?

Ann......leaves here are just getting pretty....so many different colors. Hope you find some pretty ones. I always like gourds, leaves and mini pumpkins with apples arranged in baskets for Fall decorations.

Went out on Lake Superior yesterday on the Glass bottom boat tour. It was so fascinating to be able to see the shipwrecks on the bottom. One even had a toilet and bathtub you could see! They went down anywhere from the early 1800's to 1926. There are over 6000 ships on the bottom of the Great Lakes. It looks and feels like the Pacific ocean when you're out there.
So much to see here in Michigan, we plan on a whole summer here before long. Beautiful state.

Lots of cooking to do today as we will be on the road a lot the next 2 weeks and I like to have meals made and in the freezer. Hate to cook after a long day on the road.

Have a good day.....Judy

Good luck Festive Belles

Good morning: I went to the Gym yesterday and I hobbled in with a pain in my knee. I have had this for who know how long? It had been bothering while I line dance and it really hurt.
I went in with the idea that I was going to exercise it out of me.
Well I did 20 minutes on the elliptical and lots of side kicks back kick etc etc. I went in the hot tub and put the pressure on the back of my leg until it hurt.

I got out of the Gym and went back home and I could hardly walk all evening. I woke up this morning and there is NO pain. Now it is only 6am and Larry wants to go walk the fair. I wonder how it is going to be this afternoon when I do all that walking on it. We will see....

But for the time being O pain. Amazing.........

Everyone have a great day. I am going to the Puyallup Fair.
See ya

Well, good evening all. I'm home safe and sound. I had a very good visit with everyone. Loaded my truck up with stuff from my sister who is moving to Fl. Some of it we will take to her there when we go to visit in Dec or Jan. The rest is stuff for me and the kids. Among the things she gave me was a treadmill. She had a very nice one that she just won't have room for in her new place. The weather was great the whole time I was there. Cool, (mid 50s) in the morning and mid to upper 80s in the afternoon. I drove through a little rain here and there on the way Sunday, but haven't seen any since. I have to unload the truck in the morning before work.

Sharon, anytime you want to call go right ahead. I'm usually up at 4-5AM, lol. The best times to call me would be in the mornings between about 8-11 or in the afternoon between about 1-4. Any time will work though. I always have my phone with me.

Ruthann, I can understand waiting until you can afford to get the place you want to have. At least you have lots of friends you can go and stay with down there. Enjoy your trip this fall.

I'm sorry but I don't remember all the posts, but hope that everyone is doing well. I'm ready for bed I think, it was a long drive today. Have a good night.

Ruthann~ ain't getting older just the pits!~lol~ hubby was chuckling at me complaining about having a sore leg and NOT accepting it one wee bit!!~ he says! Sweetheart~ you turned 63 this month~ you have been a lucky women to get this far without aches and pains! Then my girlfriend who is 2 yrs older then me says the very same thing to me the other night! She said she has had aches and pains since she turned 60!~ so I guess I had best stop asking~ why me? eh?

Sharon~ was chuckling at you with your tooth pain and finding out it was from your sinuses~ you should have asked me~lol~ I have had sinus problems for years now but knock on wood I have not had any real pain for over 2 years now! Just stuffiness! And lots of nose blowing!~lol
Started using NeilMed Sinus Rinse whether I am real stuffy or not~ I use this about once a week and more often if I do feel stuffy~ it has prevented any build up that definitely will cause pain in your teeth and stops an actual infection from starting~ look it up...it is worth having in your medicine cabinet~

Well, I had an interesting dental apt today. He took xrays and poked and probed around and couldn't find any problem with my teeth. No cavaties or infection. When he looked at the xray, he asked if I had any problems recently with my sinus. I said yes a couple weeks ago I had a sinus infection. He came to the conclusion that my sinus cavity is full and pressing on the nerve of the tooth. If the pain doesn't go away in a few days, I need to go back and they will continue to investigate further. Who would have thunk it??

Another mighty warm day here today. It's afternoon and we're staying in during the heat of the day.

Good Afternoon. Our motor home has been delivered to the shop for an oil change and new oil filter. I ate my lunch in the car and then read while DH probably was talking in the office. Business must be good, they had RV''s parked every where. I'm sure some are waiting on parts.

Mary, yes, we were stationed and married at the Navy base in Millington. No RV park then but they did have a mobile home park on base.

Brenda, the last time we stopped at Millington the chapel we were married in was gone. We lived on base on the school side across the road from one of the clubs. Chiefs or Officers. 505 Hutchins Rd. Pregnant Acres (off base) also had all been remodeled. I was transferred there from Yeoman School in San Diego. All by my self.

Judy, I'm hoping to find some colored leaves up north for table decorations at our Nov. camp out. I'm not much good at table decorations

Good Morning!
Just a quick "hello" - just returned from our weekly meeting (free coffee & doughnuts) It's already begun but I did pass on the doughnut! Now I am off to see the dentist so he can tell me how many millions of dollars it's going to cost to make this pain go away. I'll check back later to make sure everyone is staying out of trouble, lol.

Found you guys LOL, Ann My husband was stationed in Milllington 3xs the last time was in 89 we lived in housing oh my I can't remember the street ..... oh ya Mariner lived there 3 years I hear and saw on the a map they torn all of it down really looks different and built a school by the old cotton fields . Our son went to Millington East grade school during that time.

Mary do tell more about the camping in Millington it wasn't there when we were there. I remember a big field by housing the had a herd of buffaloes in it the kids always liked watching them.
WE haven't been down that way since 1992 sounds like we need to take a trip south.

Sharon glad you made it to Arizona fine and had a good time on the road. Jacque glad also you had a safe trip.

I hope this finds everyone doing good i don't know much else so talk later, Brenda

Sharon: I am so excited that Norm put in a new bed just for me.....You know I just couldn't go a whole year without seeing you guys. Bailey too. I know that it will be around January. I am so excited. I guess I just said that. OH but I am......Yeah!

Ann: I sure know about Yuma and noise. The train whistle bothered me the first year and then the second year I didn't even hear them. But the planes from the air base especially the Jets are really loud but I think they fly more in the day time. The park was a small park with nothing going on. But you can always go to the other parks functions. Well I made up my mind I really don't need it right now and I am saving every month towards my 2nd retirement.

Heather: I know what you mean about aches and pains. I am going to the gym today to work out my knee. I don't stop line dancing but it don't help it any. I need different exercises for it. I am not giving up yet.

Sharron: Did I tell you how excited I am ????????????????

Hi Friends~

We are back home now and camping days are now over for this year~ and we are already discussing where to go next summer~lol ( SC to see my son and Bar Harbor look like 2 good possibilities )

Not sure what I have missed from the old thread but will be watching and checking into this new one more regularly now that internet is running fine!

We have been trying to get the trailer cleaned out since we are back and I have done so many wash loads that I have lost count. My house here is a real mess since neglecting it all summer so I am also trying to get it back in order as I bring things in from the trailer. There seems a million things to get done and normally I would just relax and say I have all winter and not panic~lol~
HOWEVER~ found out we are going to have company come the end of this month so have been in a frenzy trying to get at it all!~ hubby's cousin from Ontario and her hubby are stopping by for a few days on their way home from a holiday in Newfoundland~ yikes! best get back to work eh?

In all of that~ neither hubby nor I have been feeling our best. Hubby ( we think~ as we have not had our dr appointment yet ) has developed a hernia in his groin and I think I have had a flare up of infection in my sciatic nerve in my right leg. Needless to say this has slowed both of us down a bit!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr...just hate getting interrupted with what I am doing~lol

Well~ feeling better today and sun is shining so off to getting "something " done I go~~

Heather~ New Brunswick~~Canada

Foggy here this morning, but it's supposed to burn off soon and be the best weather-day of the week. DH is golfing now but this afternoon we'll go to his sister's and visit with his CA sister who is visiting. She hasn't been back here to visit in 15 years and it's nice getting to know her again.

Ann, we've never traveled to the West Coast (except by plane to fly out of SF). I hear Oregon coast is beautiful, as well as several parts of CA. DH has a sister in Oregon and of course, the sister who is home visiting now and lives in Santa Rosa. Maybe one day when we travel during the summers, we'll make it up to Oregon. Enjoy your trip, sounds very nice.

Judy, we go to Mission, down in the Rio Grande Valley. There are literally hundreds of parks down there. The area has great weather, good shopping if you're near a city (we're next to McAllen), and tons of things to do. The entertainment at the parks is wonderful, our park usually has entertainment Fri, Sat, & Sunday nights and we've never paid more than $6. Mostly it's $4 or $5. The area embraces 'Winter Texans' - puttting on special celebrations welcoming everyone, special nights at the hockey games with discounted tickets & food prices, many restaurants have Winter Texan night when you get discounted meals. The bad part of the Valley IMO is the poverty factor and of course the fact that we're about 6 miles from the Mexican border. The Valley is very Tex-Mex, with Spanish being the predominate language. It's windy all the time (like a lot of Texas), and it seems you see a lot of trash blowing around in the wind, it gets pretty dusty also. The people, for the most part, are wonderful! They are very friendly and welcoming.

Judy, are you living in your MH all winter in WA? How cold will it get where you'll be wintering?

Ann, we camped at a Naval Base just outside of Memphis last year - Millington? They have a small but nice FamCamp on base and we stayed 2 days just before Thanksgiving. Maybe the same place you were stationed?

Well, better run and get my day started. Everyone - enjoy your day!

Mary-NH

Good Evening. Supper is over and it is dark outside.

Patty, we've camped over 20 years and I don't ever remember camping next to tents and noisy kids. But I will say we don't camp in state or national parks. In Ca. the state parks were made for shorter RV's and have lots of trees.

Sharon, I watched DWTS last night but did switch to 2 & 1/2 men to see how the new guy would do. In my opinion he needs a shave and a haircut. lol Is the MIFI something new with Verizon? We have a Verizon air card that you pay for if you use it or not and we don't use it at home. Cinnamon tabs ---- hum. I never heard of them.

Pat, you have been very busy. What a great walk you did.

Mary, we will be heading to Grants Pass, Oregon where DH niece lives. She is our age and lost her DH in April. DH says from there we could go over to the coast and then south. Lots of Elks clubs in that area to stay at. The last week of Oct. we have to be in Yuba City, just north of Sacramento for our state rally. We'll meander west and down to Solvang, Ca. for our chapters Nov. campout. Solvang is a very quaint Danish town with shop till you drop and be sure to stop in our Danish Bakery's on your way home.

Ruth Ann, I don't think you would want to stay close to the Marine Base. We've had friends that have stayed at the fairgrounds there and they say the noise is terrible.

Jacque, how's the weather in Okla.? When we married and lived at Memphis Naval Station we had good friends that were from Tulsa. They returned there when they retired. She never was one to keep up correspondence or even Ch. cards.

Ann

Morning My Friends!
We spent some time this morning settling in. Still have a lot we want to do but if we spend a little time each morning, we will relax in the heat of the day in our a/c'd MH!

Ruthann - let me address your post first! Of course, you may stay with us!!!! When we remodeled, we bought a new love seat with a good mattress just for occassions such as this. The old one was not comfortable we're told and we want our guests to enjoy their time with us. You will be the first to sleep in our new bed! So absolutely, just keep us in the loop with your plans. We'll talk on the phone and personal emails when the time gets closer. I also know what you mean about the park model. One of our friends is selling theirs this year and we are actually considering purchasing it but we're in limbo right now.

Jacque - Norm's dr is a firm believer in supplements and has us on several. It's one of the reasons I want to call you as I want to go over which ones I should continue to take. I hope you have a wonderful time with your family. Each trip is special as you never know what our parents health will be as they age. Norm's mom was the last of our parents to pass so now we are the oldest generation.

Judy - we enjoyed the Shipwreck Museum as well but it's kind of like once you've been, you've seen it. I hope you have good weather as you continue your stay in Munising.

Mary - we are in the same site this year as last and have the same neighbors although none of them have arrived yet. Although we had to change sites last year as someone purchased a brand new park model and wanted to move it in to our site. Of course, that kicked us out and we were upset to leave all our friends. But we have settled in our new site and have enjoyed our new neighbors as well.

Well you know me better than I know me. I found a place in Yuma for $14,995. All furnished and in a small park. It was a Mobile Home with 2 bedrooms. I looked on line for where the park is situated and it is near the air base near down town Yuma. I was so excited until I realize that I am paying $2850 a year for the park space. I would only use it a short time and I realize it is what I want but NOT what Larry wants. So I will keep saving my $$$ and putting it aside for when it will really happen. I can save $$$ right now but see this a great possibility in the future.

Sharon: I know Norm remodeled your MH. My girlfriend is staying 3 days in Mesa and is it OK if I stay with you those 3 days? I can get an air mattress and sleep with Bailey if this is at all possible. This will happen in January.
I will miss the Motor Home on this trip. But it should be so much fun.

Well I need to get some stuff done before line dancing.

Judy: When will you be in Oregon? Let me know the dates. You never know when I will be passing through.

We seem to be getting a few member from the East Coast

PAT from Bangor, ME:
I used to work at the Bangor Mall and I lived in Bradford, ME. 4 years. I have a niece who lives in E. Corrinth. I also have a lot of X Brother-in-laws and Sister-in-laws who were brought up in ME.

Good morning all.
Look at all the people on herer who haven't posted for a while. Good to see you all back. It soundsl like you've all been busy busy.

Ruthann, I'm so glad you decided to make your trip to Yuma anyway. I was really feeling in my gut that was part of why you were so down. Along with everything else you were dealing with.

Sharon, I am so impressed that y'all have a Dr who recommends supplements. It is such a rare thnig. I would probably be more inclined to go and see one if I found one who believed that the natural way was the best way.

Well, I have access to a real computer right now, that is why I decided to respond to a couple of posts.

Judy, I think you are the one who asked how far Tulsa is from home. It is a little over 500 miles. I think I've probably driven about 800 though with all the visiting I'm doing, lol.

OK guess I need to get off of here and get back at it. Have a great day all.

Good morning all....

Lots of news on here today.....

Sharon...Glad you are safely at your destination and are getting settled. Hope it's not to hot there. We are supposed to get some showers later today with 70 degrees. I take cinnamon too, but didn't know it helped with triglycerides. Have fun down there :D

Arlene..hope you're feeling better.

Jacque....enjoy yourself with your family. Sounds like it will be a short trip. How far is it from where you live? Travel safe.

Ruthann....with all the trips you have planned this winter I'll probably miss you in Wash. too!
It will be nice for you to get away, off & on, during the bad weather though. We are going to tough it out there for the winter, as we will be gone for a year + when we leave again next Sept.

Glassart.....we miss our dogs when we're gone too and we always feel so special every time we come home to such an enthuastic welcome! Glad you had a good trip and enjoy yourself in Ca.

Ann....love the new TV season too, but always miss The Closer when it leaves.

Patty.....I have to say...being a full-timer and as much as we use the RV parks we seldom have rude people next to us (we're all old!) but when we do, we try to talk to them. Once they are aware most people will try to keep the noise down after 10PM. The ones who don't, we will talk to the managers, if it is going to be a longer stay for us......2 days we can cope, but 2 weeks is a different story.

Pat....congrats on doing your 5K. Wish I could get that motivated :) Have gotten away from walking with all the travel and sightseeing we have been doing. Need to get off my duff and just make the time. Hostas are so beautiful and we have seen so many different varities in our travels.

Mary....where do you stay when in the south? We keep hearing of so many places people enjoy and we will be doing that next winter, so are starting to look into it.

Around home today..housework "stuff" all day. Went to the Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point yesterday on the way to Munising, Mi. Very interesting place...it's where they have the bell from the Edmund Fitzgerald and information on the wrecks of all The Great Lakes. Lights were out when we got there, so hung out in the MH until they came on again (3hrs). Got the photo album caught up while waiting.

Have a great day everyone.......Judy

Good luck Festive Belles

Good morning all,

Sharon good to hear you're getting settled in your home park. Do you have the same neighbors as last year?

We got a call from the park we'll spend 3 months in this year - the office made a mistake when they rented us our lot and they called to ask us to move to another one. The one we rented was supposed to be reserved for the new Activity Directors because it's close to the large hall and the office. They found us a new one that was concrete (they all aren't) and it faced the way we wanted it to, so we agreed. Don't know who are neighbors are, though. It's a longer walk to the pool, rec halls, etc. but I guess that just means I'll get more exercise. The park isn't huge anyways - 300 or so sites.

Ann, when do you leave and where do you go? We've got about 45 days before we leave. My to-do list is getting longer instead of shorter!

Mary-NH

Pat - Fantastic job on the 5k and an impressive improvement on your time. You are looking good and enjoying a healthier life so eventually the weight will drop. Enjoy being off BP and diabetes meds. My Dr. has me taking a cinnamon supplement daily to lower my triglycerides. You might google cinnamon and cholesterol lowering and you'll find lots of info on it. Something you may want to discuss with your doctor.

Yesterday I walked a 5K in Bangor Maine for the Susan Komen race/walk for the cure. I did it last year with DH. He was unable to accompany me so I did it alone. I had asked for a timing Bib and that allowed me to start to walk after the timed runners, That meant less people ahead of me. That was not that I could ever catch up with them they left me space to walk fast as I wanted to. Last year it was so crowded I could not keep my stride.
This year I walked a 15m56s mile and I walked it in 49 mins.23 secs.
Last year it was 59 minutes so there was an improvement in this 67 years young walking Grandmother. I cam home for Bangor and worked in the yard transplanting huge Hostas, They were heavy. Today I did that again and loaded loam in the wheelbarrow to spread in the yard. I am on a roll right now feeling great, eating within my tracker and absolutely no weight loss. I am happy being healthy, some day it will budge but I very rarely get weighed, only at the Dr. office.
No meds for BP or diabetes, still fighting the triglycerides though. HUGS from Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm glad you're all figuring out the new thread. We are a chatty group (no complaints) and some feel that the thread loads on the computer too slow when it gets bogged down. Thus the new thread and yes, we are on our 6th restart - yeah for us!

Ann - I'm with you on the new TV shows! I'm excited and I'm going to just relax and watch the new shows. My biggest problem will be which one to watch. My hubby is looking forward to Two and a Half Men just to see if he thinks it will make it without Charlie!

Tammy - I knew we had wifi here at the resort. They just put it in this summer. So when we got the Verizon MiFi I asked and she said you can suspend service (I think twice a year) but it has to be from billing period to billing period. My billing period starts on the 8th so I have to be careful of the timing as I will want it when we travel home for the Holidays.

Patty - Glad to see you post with us again. Yes, I think we have all had an obnoxious group of campers next to us at one time. My poor daughter has a TT and when they go they have five kids, a dog and a cat! Everyone turns their nose up when they all pile out of the Suburban and thinks, Oh, no! Well, they are very well behaved and usually before they leave someone comes and tells them it is pleasant to be beside such a well behaved group!

Just returned from a short 4 day RV trip with my small RV club. We stay at this particular RV park/lake frequently. There are three distinct sections, two more for families with young kids/mostly tenters, or people wanting to be closer to the lake. We stay in the "adult" section because it's normally just RV's with adults.

This weekend, it had a lot of tents with small children in our "adult" section. I was parked next to a spot with three tents, 6 adults, 8 small kids and 4 dogs and a loud radio! The small kids cried or screamed everything they said all day and into the night. The adults were almost as bad, not telling the kids to be quiet, and talking/laughing loud well after midnight. The crying/screaming kids started around 7 am. Boy were we all glad when they finally left on Sunday. The camphost never even talked to them, plus they let the dogs loose a lot. This was the worst camping trip I've ever been on. Anyone had a camping experience like that?

The (5) was a mystery to me, too, until now!

Sharon, you can choose to use/pay for the Mifi per month or something? That has been my holdup - I really don't want to have to pay for it ALL the time.

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

I'm following. Now I know what the (5) stood for. Wondered about that.

I did a grocery shopping for the kids today. When I got home I called DD and told her the home shopper was done and she could pick up. She had taken a vacation day in case they got home last night late as she has to be at work at 5:45 a.m. DH was home delivered about 4. He had a few stories to tell. Yes, it was hot in Las Vegas.

Yeah, today we finally get some new TV shows with the new season starting. A nice change. In about 20 days we will be on the road.

OK - hopefully, you have all followed me here.

I am pleased to say that we have arrived at Towerpoint and are settling in nicely. I am on the resorts WiFi and it seems to be working nicely so I may just have to put my Verizon MiFi on hold for a few months. I won't until the resort gets busy and I know it will work well with all the people on it at once.

Jacque - I hope you are enjoying your day with family.

Judy - I hope it's not raining any more. We talked to our son this morning and it was raining really hard where he was but my radar looks like it has moved out now
.
Glassart - I'll bet your dogs are happy you have returned as well, lol. Welcome back!

Ruthann - we would love to see you this winter. I love, love, love that you are leaving Larry and coming to the sun! I'll bet he'll be ready to come back next year what with all your trips this year. How long will your trip be? Keep me up on all your plans.

Arlene - sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you got on meds in time to have a quick recovery.
