Marianne - I'll say a little pray that the RV is done as promised. We are all making our last minute preps for the Custer Trip. I got a $6.99 hair cut coupon in the mail today and intend to take advantage of that before we leave. I've been washing floors and deep cleaning on the inside but I have been convinced to just wait and wash the windows when we come back in the spring.

PJ - We will have our electric bikes but only because we will be packed for our winter in AZ. I truly doubt we'll have much time to ride bikes in Custer, lol. Jude is going to keep us on the move, I think! Think of all the exercise you got rearranging the room - TWICE! I think you earned your 10 pts today! Your breakfast sounds good considering I've never had couscous!

Arlene - nice of you to pop in. I hope you are having a wonderful time. We'll be here when you get back!

Ann - I've also been following the story on your Mayor. I would think he'd be out of there after today, by resignation hopefully!

Good afternoon,

Tammy, I looked up the plants too and they are sure colorful. I know little about what will grow here and have to visit a local nursery. We moved my roses and they love this climate.

Ann, I've been following the SD mayor story and hope you're rid of him soon. Catalina is on my bucket list, even if it's just a day trip.

Sharon, we don't want to leave for Custer any later than the 7th, and DH would prefer to leave earlier so we can see some sights on the way. The fires have to be considered too, in case we have to adjust our route. If we can get the RV by the 29th we can do a short shakedown trip, otherwise we'll end up picking it up and leaving right away!

Good afternoon taking a break from cleaning and yes scrubbing floors.
I made something different for breakfast. I cooked some couscous and added cut up broccoli, diced yellow sweet pepper, onion and some of our garden tomatoes. It was really good with some watermelon. I know couscous is supposed to be good for you but it is high in carbs.

While cleaning and putting some things that have been laying around forever I decided to rearrange the furniture in one room. Guess what I didnít like it so its right back where it was.

Iím going to be lots of cleaning the next couple of days so when we leave on our trip everything will be done. Iím going to do a little each day and next weekend too.

I just looked it up Brenda because I forgot to yesterday. I know them as Coral Bells. I love those but didnít realize there were so many different ones. When I start doing more landscaping next year I now want some of those too.

Jacque yes we will have to get together. I have had gator before and it is good or at least fried it is. Iím not crazy about blackened cooking too spicy for me.

SS Frank asked me today if I was bringing my bike and I told him no. It will go to Texas this winter but just not on this trip.

Ann we have learned so much on some of our trips about local history. And we have had our share of mishaps to. Not fun at the time but good memories later.

New thread is a great idea.

Good Morning. Still morning but it won't be by the time I finish this. DH just got back from putting more kitty litter on the diesel spill from the motor home that is in storage. I bet he won't top off the tank next time he fills it. I think he thought he was smart and filling up the motor home when the prices were down.

Today just might be the day the mayor resigns. The City Council is getting the papers from the mediation that has taken place all week. This afternoon they have to agree or disagree with them. He's been seen with boxes in a car so it seems like he's emptied out his office. Good riddens.

Last night about 8 p.m. DH got a text from DD. "we just got home and David's truck is trashed" Of course DH tried to call back but no answer. We didn't know if they had left the truck at home in the drive way or not. (too long to fit in his garage in his gated community)
DH decided he wanted to find out what happened so we jumped in the car and took off. Only about an 8 mile drive. We get there and they are unloading bicycles off the back bumper of the truck. DD and GS are leaving to go get some food. DS says look at the truck. They had been to Catalina Island for 5 days and left the truck in a beach town when they took the boat to the island. Now beach towns have birds and the birds must have loved his beige truck. It was covered with their presents. What a mess.

DH said they had a good time but a couple of misadventures. They rented three kayaks to take a guided tour around the island. DD pulled up the rear and DS stayed way in the rear. She also go too close to some rocks and a swell pushed her into the rocks and she cut her finger. Finally she was so far behind the tail end guide towed her back to the starting point. The rest of the group went on to a beach for a picnic lunch and snorkling. Then paddled back to the starting point. DS said GS got really tired and cranky but he wasn't going to tow him. Later GS said he had a good time but it sure was hard work.

DS learned some interesting facts about Catalina Island. It originally was owned by the Wrigley Gum family and for years the Chicago Cubs held their spring training there. During the week a cruise ship docked in the harbor and ferried passenger to the island.

When DH was stationed on a ship in Long Beach, Ca. they took the dependents on a ship cruise to Catalina. I was PG with DD and stayed on the top deck the whole time to keep from getting sea sick.

Good morning:
Don't have time to read post but will post what I will be doing today.

Line dancing of course 2 hours this morning, lunch and after lunch Lorraine and I will be cleaning carpets at the senior center. The stage is carpeted and it hasn't been cleaned for a long time. I was soaking gum with peanut butter and it came right up. I read about it on line. The oils in the peanut butter lifts it right out. I wonder who figured that one out.

After lunch today we will return and start the project. They have 6 other carpeted platforms to clean also. Lorraine have fun working together. I love it when a really dirty thing turns into being a clean like new thingie. Ha ha..

Well time is up and I need to get out of here.
Have fun and stay BUSY.....

Good Morning!
Hot & humid in MI today as well. Norm left first thing this morning, leaving me home alone for the day. He is rewiring our friends kitchen before we leave. We chose not to put insurance on the Mustang when it came due 8/20 so it's been washed and put in storage for the winter so until we leave we only have one car.

Tammy - I looked up heucheras myself as I was not familiar with the plant. I love the multi colored picture! I think we need to look in to getting some of them next spring! You have a couple of fun social things this weekend. The BBQ will be fun and it's nice that DS/DIL are coming for the evening. I'm not a sports fan but it's a good reason for a visit!

Jacque - we brought alligator home with us the last time we visited you and Robby. But we used it in a Jambalaya so it was difficult to taste it. I'm not sure I could eat Blackened Alligator but good for you! Is Alligator meat low calorie?

Ann - I'm here to tell you our gas price went back up to $3.68 overnight! What a Roller Coaster Ride on prices. I hope it goes back down before we leave. One of Norm's pet peeves is to finish shopping and find there is only one or two lines open with about 20 registers. He always says, Why do they have so many registers when they never use them!

Brenda - all your talk about trees, I should tell you Norm bought two trees on sale last week. Some kind of Gum Tree. I immediately remembered you and the gum balls and said No, not them! He assures me these are not the same. They better not be or he'll be ripping them right back out!

PJ - will you be bringing your bike on your RV trips? It's one more thing to bring but we enjoy having ours alone.

Marianne - I wondered if this was the same GD that was just with you. It all makes sense now and I hope the RV continues to stay on track. It's cutting it close! When are you planning to leave for Custer? We are pulling out on the 10th and going straight to Custer.

PJ, one type of the Japanese maples has the feathery leaves. I do like those, but we got one with leaves that were a little more sturdy - still delicate, but not feathery.

Here's a link for different types of heucheras. I read about them in a magazine in the spring, and we wanted something to add to the ground cover other than our hostas, which we love also.

My immediate boss is having an informal BBQ this evening which we will attend, since he is making this effort. DS and DIL are coming tomorrow evening to watch the Chiefs game. So those two things will be fun. I have my usual weekend To Do list as well.

PJ, not sure where Powell Park is, but we're about 2-21/2 hrs from Sam Rayburn and about the same to NOLA. We'll definitely have to plan a get together while you're here this year.

Tammy, I'm with the rest of the girls, what's a heucheras? I'm not a real big plant person, so it doesn't surprise me that I don't know what it is.

Brenda, sounds like you had a great time yesterday. What a great job on all the bargains.

We went to dinner tonight after I got done working. I had blackened Alligator. I'm not a real fan of blackened stuff, but I love 'gator, so I survived. It had fried shrimp with it, which I gave to Robby. I don't like shrimp. It had grilled veggies with it, so that was a plus. The big downfall for me was, Robby ordered chips and dip before I got there. They were homemade chips with a homemade dip. Really good and I had too many of them. Well, guess I'll get off of here for now. Have a good night all.

WOW, Sharon your gas prices are really down. Ours are too but still around $3.70 something. I bet DH won't fill the diesel again. RV buddy called to say the diesel was leaking again from the heat. About two weeks ago DH went out with kitty litter to soak it up. Now he'll have another trip.

I never heard of a heucheras either. Sounds like something that grows in Mexico. Or maybe a pair of sandals.

We did the grocery shopping today. I think it was seniors day as they were out in force. When we got ready to check out there were two registers open. Lucky we were very close to the head of the line but by the time we got to the register the line was very very long. Lots of grumpy looking people and I don't blame them. Also the cashier told me that they are now open on Mondays again. Last month they closed on Monday due to Sescrestation (sp) (spell check says the correct spelling is SUSAN.) Well I guess that didn't work out too well for them. Probably lost more in spoiled food than they saved in wages.

I managed 2 trips out to the road on my bicycle today. I wonít take it anywhere else until my helmet arrives. Also went to visit my hospice patient. She is such a sweet thing it just tears at my heart when I go visit, but she enjoys having the company.

Eileen so I guess Roger getting fired is a good thing? I can just see the 6 y/o pouting!!! It was good for papa to keep them for the day.

Ruthann everytime you mention line dancing makes me wonder if any of the area senior centers around here to that? Hmmm that would be fun and it sounds like you have made a wonderful friend with Lorraine. Is that where you met her?

SS these projects are very small for my ladies in the knitting group and the other hospice volunteers. They are fun to make and easy. Iím sure I will have some knitting with me on our trip as I never leave home without something to knit and read.

Thanks for the comment about Tony he is getting so anxious to move on with the prothesis and the thought of going back to work.

Jacque 4 months off after Christmas we must try and get together while we are in the south.
Just how far away are you from Powell Park on Lake Sam Rayburn? And how far are you from New Orleans?

Tammy are the Japanese maples the ones with feathery leaves? We have though about one of those also. I donít know what a heucheras is so I will be looking that one up.

Ooooh Brenda that day you had yesterday sounds like fun. We all need those days now and then

Good morning,

I slept in since I haven't been feeling well, and had a late night watching grandsons. Feeling better and have half my exercise done.

Sharon, DGD spent a few days with us before her trip to Washington. We're taking her home this week-end because school starts Monday and the timing works with hopefully getting the RV, along with checking on the property. We're also hoping to see her older brother who moved out of the family house but still wants us to help pay for college, sigh. No job, not sure where he's living, or if he's registered for classes.

Ruthann and Jacque, the peroxide is a great tip. I've used it with mixed results, but definitely worth trying.

No smoke here but when we go north we'll see a lot because of all the fires burning in CA. Rain would be a blessing.

Brenda, $15? You got a STEAL! We had priced them at different nurseries in town, but ended up getting one at Lowe's this morning because of price/DH's military ID discount. It was more than $15, though, so smile, smile, smile at your bargain. I WAS quite proud of my $2 heucheras/normally $13. I was even more glad when my FL sister asked what a heuchera is. LOL She is usually teaching me all things plantwise, so I had to laugh to myself! I think your bargain day sounds great! I wish I could get some free coupons to BB&W and Target.

Glad Jenny got all moved in and it does sound like it will work well.

Hi, friends!

DH and I have been doing errands today - we now have a Japanese maple and a couple of heucheras for my shade garden. He also got our vehicles inspected prior to their license being renewed next month. I have been to our library, which is always a treat. It has been a good morning.

I have to remember that peroxide method. SD's little dog...do I need to say more? Ick...

Good morning all.

Sharon, I'll have a week off and then the quarter horse meet starts. It runs until Christmas, then I have my BIG break. I'll be off for close to 4 months.

Ruthann, my sister has been using the peroxide method on her carpet at her home. Her GKs have spilled everything you can imagine on it. She tried it on a KoolAid stain and said it worked great. I hope it will work for you too. I'd much rather work with peroxide than ammonia.

OK, I got interrupted and have forgotten what all I was going to say. Guess I'll come back later. Have a good day all.

Good Morning!
We had some T-storms move through during the night. Lots of rain, thunder and lightening. We really needed the rain and how nice that it came through during the night. Although it looks like another big front moving in.

So that being said, it will probably be an indoor day. I am going to do a DVD workout this morning to get my exercise in for the day.

Ruthann - I'm sorry for your friends loss. At times it is such a trying time for both the patient and caregiver that it is almost a relief when they pass. Once again your line dancing friends will be there for her.

Eileen - Wow! You did have a busy day and I'm sure Roger needed his nap last night, lol. Those young kids really do consume our time and energy! It sounds like you are happy that Roger got "fired". Does he feel the same?

PJ - you girls starting projects for Christmas will be finished and laughing as the rest of the world is scurrying around in December! I saw Tony's post on FB and I'm glad they feel he's ready for the next step, measuring for a prosthesis to fit his leg.

Marianne - Sounds like you have some fun days ahead. After you pick up the GD, will she be staying with you for awhile? I am sending positive vibes out that your house sells and the RV will be ready as promised!!

Jacque - I also am surprised you only have three more weeks of Thoroughbred racing. Will you be off work again after that? That season sure went fast!

Oh my it is late and we just got home from making a picnic table for Lorraine. Larry really did a nice job. It is cute. Darn never got a picture.

Started out with a morning of line dancing and Lorraine and I put some peanut butter on the gum that is on the carpet that is on a stage at the (new to us) Senior center. Friday we are going to clean it and pray the stains come out. We have spotted them and I hear that Hydrogen Peroxide will get out stains. We will see if they don't come out on the first try. I also heard that Ammonia and water will also do the trick. Wish me luck on that one.

One of my line dancer friends lost her husband today. Tomorrow I will be taking her to have one of her eyes operated on. She is ready for a break. She has been taking care of him for over 2 years and it is a blessing that he has passed away.

Well late and I am headed to bed.
I hope everyone had a good day.
Later...

Greetings!!
Sure did have a different day today. Got up at 8 AM as 2 GD's were coming for the day (6 & 8). Fixed breakfast and then they decided they were hungry again (2nd Bkft). Went down for my shower & Roger took them to the playground and back home, filled the kiddie pool as they kept asking to swim! It was hot & humid already this morning. I said goodbye and off to work with hang in there to Roger. Busy afternoon at work & time flew. When I came home the 6 y/o was mad at "papa" and pouting. The other doing gymnastics in the living room:):) Mom came and sat visiting for an hour (no problem) but didn't have anything out for supper and Roger had to have a nap before going to work tonight. So out to dinner, unplanned. Just an interesting day. Roger & the dogs are now sleeping:) and I am Sparkin'!! Oh yes, Roger told me he got a call that he is "fired". I said, good, they have hired someone! Yep, Roger will do training on his last 3 shift and will be done at the same time I am done!

A busy day tomorrow with lots of errands and a gift to buy for our other GD who is turning 7 on Sat. Party time on Sat. as well. I see you are all busy as well! One day closer.......
Have a great evening and Thurs. to all!!

Eileen

Went to my knitting class this morning, bought groceries now this afternoon will be doing some laundry and painting. My house is still waiting to be cleaned and the floors too. It hasnít done itself no matter how long I wait.

SS you are back on track again. It is hard to keep a routine when traveling and on trips. Glad Normís test was normal.

I was out early this morning taking a walk and got to see the beautiful full moon.

Jacque I started some small knitting Christmas projects this morning. So you arenít the only one that is thinking about the holiday.

Ann I think there is going to be a lot of stores changing with the new policies coming. Especially the health care one. And I think many places will cut hours so that employees wonít be full/time to get around the companies paying the benefits.

Good morning,

I was surprised to see I hadn't posted here for a few days - I've been reading the thread and only imagined I'd written anything! A stomach bug hit me so I've been struggling to get through my commitments this week. Today is much better.

We're picking up our granddaughter at the airport Friday and then going to our rural property for a few days. The realtor has shown it multiple times in the last 2 weeks, but no offer so far. Also, the RV is supposed to be ready by the end of next week, and that will affect our short travel plans.

Cleaning house on the agenda and some grocery shopping. DH wants to take a bike ride while it's cool, so I have to get moving.

Good morning all.

Sharon, great news that Norm had another good report. Back in the swing for him. I'll get over the feeling lazy pretty quick. I really haven't been lazy, other than the exercise, lol. I still am at what seems to be a dead run most of the time, I just FEEL lazy.

Well, it's Wed. and work day again. Only 3 weeks left in this Thoroughbred meet for this year. It's hard to believe it's already over. This year has really flown by.
As for my thinking about Christmas, it's the blankets that I make to sell that I'm thinking about, lol. I haven't begun to think about any thing else. I'm a last minute shopper.
Well, better get off of here and do some real work. Have a great day all.

I finally feel like I am caught up. I got laundry and bill paying done yesterday. Today I want to clean through the house - dust & vacuum. That's about my agenda today after water aerobics this morning.

Norm said gas prices dropped to $3.48 from $3.55 so I think he'll take the MH up and get it filled. Of course, as soon as he does, the price will drop more! It seems to always happen for us.

Eileen - At least you get to spend some of the GK's visit before you need to leave for work. Work is fun when you don't have anything else to do but it would be nice not to have to go in when the grandkids are there.

Arlene - I hope your leg holds out for your rally. I can only imagine there will be a lot of walking. Have fun and stay cool.

Ann - I don't want to think Christmas either although if we don't fly home, I'll be writing checks myself this year!

Jacque - snap out of the lazy mood! I'm just kidding as don't we all get to feeling like that some times. I'm sure you'll be moving and grooving again with us when you're ready.

Ruthann - I never have watched Breaking Bad but my son loves it too. Who said they don't have soap operas in the evening! I am anxious to see the movie Jobs myself although the reviews have not been good. Norm says we always like the movies the critics pan so we should enjoy this one. BTW, all is over and done and Norm passed his exam with flying colors. Now back to normal for him.

A little bit of a down day for me today. It was massage day and I kind of languish in the recliner to let the muscles relax. Tomorrow we are watching 2 GDs while mom starts getting the school classroom ready and her meetings started. They are coming at 8A into the afternoon. I work at noon so I will miss part of their visit. We have lots of running around to get done as well so Thurs. is getter' done day. And Roger will need to have some sleep after coming off work at 6A. Going to be a busy, very hot & humid end of the week with slight chances of severe weather coming in for a visit!

Hope you all have a great Weds.!! Sounds as though lots of things are going on and the weather is somewhat similar in our areas. Take good care!!

This will be very short because I'm not good at typing on my phone.

Good Evening. I can tell the days are getting shorter as the sun comes in my kitchen window when I'm fixing supper and blinds me.

Just read on an e someone sent me that Hobby Lobby may have to close 500 stores. They can't afford the Health Insurance. I guess we'll have to wait on that.

Well, this gal isn't going to think about Christmas just yet. All I do is write checks. The right color and one size fits all.

Good evening all.

Ruthann, but it's just a little floor, lol. Only half the floor is linoleum, the other half is carpet. It's about 3'x15'. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to do it myself.
I started thinking Christmas too, that's why I bought all the fabric yesterday. Now just need to get started on them.

I've been kind of lazy the last few days. I've gotten about everything done that I need to do, except exercise, but am just feeling lazy.
Well, not much else going on here. Hope everyone has a wonderful evening.

OH my,
I slept in till 6am pretty good for me lately.

Sharon: I got the goodies in the mail yesterday for the SD Rally and said it will be to you in 3 days. Enjoy....
I have found using your own package cost less to send with USPS. Check this out the next time that you mail anything.

Got to watch my program "Breaking Bad" it is like a soap opera you just can't wait until next week to see what happens. My DS got me caught up in it while I was with him this year. This is the last year so I must keep up on how it all comes down.

I am waiting for the movie "Jobs" to come out. This should be a good one. At lease one that I would like. (staring Ashton Kutcher)

Jacque: NO THANKS your going to have to do your own floors. he he...

Sharon: Tell Norm that is a poopy job.. LOL
Well a catch up day on reorganizing my sewing room and start doing Christmas stuff. Never too early here.
NO plans today but I am sure I will stay busy....Later...

Yup, we're warming up here in MI as well. Oh well, it's still summer so I guess it's to be expected. We'll be complaining it's cold before you know it. Hopefully, I will avoid all the snow this year!

A busy week ahead of me now that I'm home. This morning I'm going to water aerobics. I need it. These few lbs I've gained make me mad so I'm going to get busy and get them off! The wedding trip is over so I have no more excuses!

This afternoon I will be taking Norm for his colonoscopy. Not much to do there but sit and wait for him to be released.

Oh, and did I mention the laundry waiting for me.....

Evenin' all!! Guess it is one day closer to going on an outing!! I think I need to start getting things organized for not only the trip in Sept. but for our leaving for the winter. I can't believe how fast the time has flown!!

Yes Ann, Michael's does do fabric pictures. I have 2 stores that I have used and both have done a great job on them. I will be taking several to our home in TX so may have a couple in the camper.

Today was my day to work and boy did I have a lot of walking to do! My poor feet hurt more than usual!! Got to baby them tonight! The heat is rolling in and the house is closed with A/C on. When my feet get too warm, they just shoot off painful throbs! That was today at work as well. Been doing a fair amount of reclining tonight. Tomorrow is massage day so the late afternoon is my icing time. Then back to work on Weds. as well as having 2 GD;s here for the afternoon. Roger is watching them and I don't know if I will see them due to work! Next week their mom has more meetings for getting ready for school (she's a teacher) so I will get time with them then. Tues and Weds. they are telling us we will have heat indexes over 100! Wish I didn't have to go to work Weds!! Guess I will get through it!!

Everyone sounds very busy. Guess it is about that time of the yr. Have a great night and day tomorrow!!

Eileen

Good evening all. I'm alive and well. I had checked in early on Sat morning and guess I never made it back on here after that. We went to see Robby's DD yesterday and by the time we got home yesterday I was too tired to pull the computer out. Looks like everyone has been busy busy. Lots of floor cleaning, lol. Anyone want to come and clean mine?

Sharon, I think you asked me a week or so ago about the RV we were trying to get. The financing fell through, so we're back to the drawing board for now. So I think for now we're going to have a storage unit built and bring all of our stuff to it. By having one right here we can pull some of the stuff we use regularly, but not daily and put it out in the storage. We can also set up our W/D in it. It's not the exact thing we want, but it will work for now. We'll find the right one and it'll work out eventually. Glad you had a good trip.

I started my day today with a massage. Probably be the last one for a little while though. My next few weeks will be very busy. I'm feeling pretty good though, so hope I can keep it going. After the massage I went to Hancock fabrics. I'm not a Hobby Lobby person, most of the time. I do go in there on occassion though. I spent $100 dollars in Hancocks today though. They are having a big sale and I started to stock up, lol. I met my friend for lunch after that then to the store and to pay bills and home. Typical Monday, lol
I read all of the posts over the past few days, but too many to keep up with.
I hope everyone has a good night.

Evening all. I had a W W tuna noodle dinner as DH is eating at the lodge meeting. I almost counted the peas as someone had mentioned on another thread a TV dinner they had actually had 2 peas in it. This one had quite a few but some of the tuna was missing. The smell was there though. lol

Eileen, you mean to tell me that Michaels will frame fabric? I do have a frame for a machine embroidery I did years ago. We took an outline of a deer and filled it in with sewing machine stitches. Hard to describe. It sits in a basket with a bunch of other projects. Some finished and some not.

Brenda, A friend that lives in Kentucky was really interested in the old cars that will be auctioned off. He said if he lived a little closer he would love to go. He took DH to an auction one time in Ky. and told DH not to scratch his nose or he might be buying something. He said he would love to know what the cars sell for.

Yes, I noticed Jacque is missing also. I hope all is well.

Sharon, the yards get mowed in our neighborhood but they still look pretty shabby. It is very difficult to keep the grass green this time of year. In addition to having a motor home parked on our street for over 10 years, now one lady had put a car on the street that she keeps covered with a car cover. A keep sake that never gets driven.

Good Evening Everyone; It has been a very long time since I posted here. Since that time we have become full timers. I have been reading everyone's postings for the last couple of weeks trying to catch up. This past summer we have been workamping in White Sulphur Springs MT. Wish we could have worked in the group camping in Cody, but we will be traveling back to WI to visit family before heading off to our winter job in Coffeyville KS.

I have gotten back to working hard on my weight again.
I hope everyone has a great evening.

Hi!

Day 1 of my Fall semester is done; I only work Mondays and Wednesdays, so tomorrow is already another break! LOL

PJ, enjoy that bike! I was hoping you had a helmet, and it seems that you will soon. I got out on mine for a bit after work today.

SD is gone until tomorrow evening; DH grilled tonight and I prepared the sides. It was yummy! It is just DH, me, Sugar Dog and Tank Dog. LOL

Have a good evening.

Morning'....

Just stoppin' by to say Hi before getting Dale in to his appt.

We are all ready to pull out on Wed. Am getting excited to be underway again. Have to get some fresh veggies and fruits for the road....don't want to run low on healthy foods.

See that it has been hot in Custer. Hope it cools down a little....makes it more fun to go sightseeing. I got the bench seat up in the van this morning, so we are ready to "carpool" if need be when we get there. Nice having our storage unit so close....we just put stuff in or take stuff out as we need it.

Good Morning!
There were so many RV's parked at the casino I was afraid all their generators would keep me awake. Not to worry! My head hit the pillow and I was gone. After a good nights sleep, we are up and on the road again for the final leg of our trip. It will be good to get home as we have stuff to do!

Ruthann - that is nice of Larry to make the table for Lorraine. I'm sure she appreciates borrowing your man for projects. I know my sister some times enjoys getting Norm to do a project for her too. Norm and Larry are in the same boat. They both have gained some weight. I can't say anything to Norm as I gained right along with him. At least now I'm back to losing the weight again.

Jude - our poor fellows! Norm begins his prep at noon today for his colonoscopy. His is at 3:30 tomorrow so I'm sure he'll be really hungry as well.

Eileen - it's so much fun to hear all of us talking about coming to Custer! It is rapidly approaching and soon we'll all be together!

Ann - what we always find with RV parks is the people are so friendly. Even up at this State Park the people across from us were so nice and when they found out we were leaving to go to the wedding for the day, they told us they would keep an eye on our place. How nice of them!

Arlene - how fun it will be to go visit Jenny! We'll be busy over Labor Day getting everything ready to leave. No big plans for the long weekend. I'm hoping to get both our kids to come visit but getting us all together is almost impossible, it seems.

Brenda - it must be difficult to live next to yard slobs as you guys work so hard to keep your yard looking nice. We have an Asian family down a few houses from us that would be that way except the park mgr is on them constantly to mow their lawn. Now she's dealing with the fact that they put up a bed sheet over their sliding glass door. Some people live that way and just don't care!

OK. Maybe it is just the gals on the West Coast that cleaned their floors. Hee hee... The rest of you should have.
Had a late night of sewing last night. Made it for a long day but I got my project finished and will be on the way to some special friends today. (You will hear about this later)

Planning on line dancing today and errands galore. I don't know if I am suppose to go out to Lorraine's with Larry or not. I haven't heard from her. Larry is making a small picnic table for her. He took a pattern from one she had that was rotted. Larry said he would do it for food. Larry has put on weight and don't seem to be loosing it. But we all have to eat. .....DARN.

Well...MY floors got done today and then it rained!! Not doing them on my knees again...just a mop job.

Marianne....lots of fun ways to get to Bellevue, Wash. from Custer. Will show you a couple when we see you. Getting excited to get on the road again.

Dale is dealing with the "prep" for his colonoscopy tonight. Went to my sis' place for dinner so I didn't have to eat in front of him. His appt. isn't until 3PM tomorrow. He will be pretty hungry when we get him back home.

Well, off to bed. Goodnight

Here is another gal that didn't do floors today. It is getting warmer and more humid each day this past week and today we were on the border of closing up & turning on the A/C but didn't. Moved a little slower and ate meals that didn't need heating except in the microwave. Tomorrow the house will be closed as the 90's are headed this was and it is State Fair week. Always seems to be the hottest week of the summer.

Didn't stop in yesterday as I did some baking and mixing. We had our annual meeting of fraternity college brothers. We started camping together after graduating and still get together every yr. Some are FL. residents and AZ residents. Fun time. I made a big pan of spicy banana bars and a tuna salad to take for potluck. Had a great time and a late evening.

I found Hobby Lobby in McAllen TX but we don't have them in our area here. We have Michael's which is similar. They get all my framing work with my counted cross stitch and I get products from them. :):) I do like Hobby Lobby too!!

I am glad you had a good time, Sharon. Weddings can be so fun. We are going to IA for the 9-13 and then to western MN for a wedding of a nephew on the 14th. We are then coming directly out to Custer from there so we will be clothed for anything as the week before is fair week and then dressing for a wedding. Gee, I wonder what we will have to wear touring:)D Gotta pack for at least 2 wks. Don't know how long we will take to come home. Guess it depends on what is waiting for us here.

Sorry, I can't remember all the other posts. Had a couple of days to catch up. That's a lot of reading!! Hope you all have a wonderful Monday and week ahead!!

No floor cleaning here today either. DH did vac the carpet yesterday. We're caught up in the Little League World Series in Pa.

Brenda, I forwarded the car auction web site to my DH and he really enjoyed watching it. Also sent it to the boys but I haven't heard from them. Our paper last week said Sonic is coming close to us soon. I don't think we've ever eaten there. We;ve seen plenty when we were traveling.

Ruthann, your car isn't that old. Our Malibu tow car is an 2002. We bought it second hand when we bought the motor home in Fl. We always keep our cars forever.

Sharon, our RV group prefers RV Parks also. Most even want 50 amp. I can do with 30 unless it is really really hot. I read on the Good Sam site complaints about noisey kids, dogs and smoke from fires and I want to clue them in you normally don't get that in RV parks.

Well I didn't do my floors today either :) That's a tomorrow job so they're clean when we come home. I've been doing laundry and then tonight we went out and cut some more Juniper branches. The trees are starting to look pretty funky. Like I said before we're doing it a bit at a time so the garbage men will take them

I booked another weekend, Labor Day , for a stay at Jamestown where our Jenny lives. I couldn't get the campgrounds I wanted so we're trying another one. Jenny drove out and checked it out first and she said it's nice. AND it has full hook ups, that will be new for us. We don't get down to see her very often, she usually comes home so we decided it was time to go there.

Well I better go change the last load of laundry around.

Later,
Arlene

Good evening
more yard work today hubby dug up some of the fountain grass in front & back & I dug up some Hibiscus Took them over to my brother the Hibiscus is a start that mom gave me years ago and it keep growing sprouts, I gave some to sis too when the seed pod dry up I just take the seeds and sprinkle them around the same area.

On the way home we stopped by Lowes and it happened again 3 rose bushes followed us home . So guess what we did when we got home LOL only got 1 planted we first cleaned the side of the house so many tree starts from the sweet gum balls to be pulled up and had those too so I just threw them back in the neighbors yards hubby just get a big laugh when I do it It just irks me off those boy haven't cleaned them up since they moved in over 3 years .
And they have only cut grass one time this year & that;s only because I called the VILLAGE., They have weeds at least 8 feet tall in the driveway. Just a mess.

Sharon glad you had a good time . Ruthann I didn't do my floors either but they do need done .
Hubby did put new a new tube in my bike tire now I can peddle outside again.

Well I am going to go have a good evening. Brenda

We stopped in Petoskey at the Odawa Casino for free RV overnight parking. Ha, we donated enough money to their slots to pay for parking! Oh well, it was fun and whiled away our time. Now it's time to settle in to bed and finish the drive home tomorrow.

I don't want to sound like a whiner about the primitive camping. I'm fine with just electricity but not being able to use my phone or internet was what was the real problem. We needed to get in touch with the family and had to drive all the way to town.

Ruthann - I didn't do my floors today so I guess not everyone did. How nice of you to win a BD cake!

PJ - it takes a lot to build up for a long bike ride. I remember as a kid, I could ride for miles. I also would just keep my bike in one gear and not change. Now with our electric bikes, I don't have to worry anymore. I sure would love to try your tamales. They sound good.

Marianne - your Mexican fiesta sounds fun. Keep trying to meet people. There must be some more your age if you keep looking!

Jude - I don't blame you for saving up for the next big trip. It is a pain to stop for gas. It's almost $200 every time we stop and fill the tank! Have you been to Washington DC before? There is so much to see and do there. When Norm and I was first married, he was stationed at Ft. Belvoir in VA and we lived off base in Alexandria, VA. It was right across the river from DC so we spent a lot of free time in DC.

Second batch of tamales are cooking. I still need more practice. The spicing is better this time but the dough isnít quite right. More practice and I will get it right.

Youngest son brought another bicycle over today and this one fits. Boy that isnít as easy to do as it was 50+ years ago. The front yard was all the farther I went. This thing has 10 speeds and hand brakes. Like he said just find a speed that works and I donít have to keep switching. I will need to build up my muscles before I go very far. Tammy I was thinking of you and your purple bike. Mine is sort of a fuchsia color.

Marianne you just now found Hobby Lobby? Oh my the fun you have been missing.

SS I have shared with you before we do a lot of our camping without water and almost always without sewer. Electricity is nice but we still enjoy the rough camping as long as we can use the generator when needed. I will say in the hot summertime we do look for campgrounds with electricity as we want the A/C.

Arlene I do agree with you donít take on any more next year. You need to enjoy yourself a little more and not have to work at the Samborees etc.

Brenda you have been busy but I am sure you feel like you accomplished a lot and the yard looks nice.

Jude we always have a lot to do before we head south for the winter also. And like most of us that arenít fulltimers I like to leave my house totally clean when we leave.

Better go and check the tamales.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Welcome back, Sharon. I totally understand about preferring water and electrical hook-ups with the RV. In my younger years I back-packed through many a wilderness area and am so done with no civilized amenities! emoticon

Jude, I'm looking forward to talking to you in Custer about the route you're driving. We're thinking about heading to Washington after Custer to see DD and grandkids in Bellevue on the way back to California. Since we won't be able to leave for Custer until the 6th or so, we're driving straight through Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming to get to South Dakota. I would really like to drive back a different way.

Last night's Mexican fiesta and karaoke party at our community center was hysterically funny. I joined the social club to meet people so served food, cleared tables and cleaned up. At least half of the 80 people there were old enough to be my parents. A few of the "performers" had nice voices but there was plenty of off-key singing. However, it was all fun and so nice to see the laughter and good times.

OK, I really want to go swimming now. emoticon

Ruthann...that was a great Hawks game last night. Dale closed the windows and the dogs buried themselves in blankets while I cheered them on. The people next to us are fans too, so we could hear them even with the windows closed...LOL Great team this year. Hope they stay healthy for the whole season.

Finally have a day to do "almost" nothing. Just the floors left to clean. Kitchen will stay clean as Dale has a colonoscopy tomorrow and I don't want to eat in front of him. Will just grab a can of soup. Sis is doing dinner for us Tues. and we leave Wed. so that is nice.

Sharon...we decided to save up for a trip to Wash. DC & NYC in 2015, so won't be in Mi. next year. Darn. We love it there, but with fuel prices now, we have to pick and chose our travel desires. Will enjoy it here on the coast for the next year as there is so much we haven't seen even tho we lived here.

Well, I hear the floors calling my name. Have a great Sunday.

Good Morning!

Well, the wedding was beautiful and the reception was fun. I made Norm leave so we could get back to the State Park by 10pm when it closes for the night. It would be just our luck to get locked out by the gate! But, we were ready as the wedding was at 3:30 so by 9pm we were done celebrating.

Our park wasn't a bad experience. It was actually rather nice but it is more camping and we're more in to RVing, with all the comforts of home! Thank God our RV was fine for the three days as our water tanks were full and our holding tanks were empty when we arrived so that part wasn't an inconvenience.

We did have our tow vehicle with us so we could run into Houghton when we wanted. The state park was about 10 miles north of town. Today we are headed back home. We could make it but that's a long day of driving so we think we may stop around the Petoskey area. That's another beautiful area of our state and they also have a nice Casino with free overnight parking. We'll see what the day brings!

I have read through all the posts. Now that I'm caught up perhaps I can comment again.

Thanks everyone for the great comments on my car. Larry gave me a California duster to keep the dust off of it. One guy did the whole car. He worked hours on it. It is what a car guy loves to do. and any time I would love to have him compound and shine my car anytime. What a friend.....(:-)

Arlene: I sure hope you get your Jeep fixed.

Tomorrow is another car show in town and I can't wait to show off my car. Ha Ha. If I keep it long enough it can be in the show. HA it is 9 years old but really looks great....

Played Cards again tonight. Larry's turn to make cookies. He went and bought them so he would n't heat up the house. Ha good excuse....

Our Seahawk's are looking GREAT... I hope that they can stay healthy and go all the way. It would be exciting. GO HAWKS!

Well off to bed so I can get stuff done before the car show. LOL...Later

Hello all.....

Have read all the posts for the last several days, but will never remember them all. Sounds like everyone has been.doing well & keeping busy as usual. We have been doing Drs., dentists, cleaning the MH, etc, etc. We head east to Custer ( there are full hook-ups at the RV park there) on Wed. and will be gone for 2 or 3 months, so lots to do before leaving. Spending lots of time with the grandkids and am pooped out most evenings.

We're watching the Seahawks beat Denver tonight...33 to 7 at halftime. Hope it holds! They have a great team this year, so should be fun to watch them.

Off to read for a while now. Nite.

We're having a warm day here, I think there are a few more to come too. Not too crazy about it being this warm next week at the Samboree. Sometimes electricity in these small communities isn't real great. And they get fussy about generators running. Darrell says if they're going to charge $7.00 a day for electricity they should be able to provide it too. He says if they complain about the generator he'll just have to pull off the grounds.

Sharon - Darrell was chuckling about the comment about no water or sewer. He's wondering what the availability is at Custer for that. I didn't even think to ask, we're so used to not having either when we camp.

Ruthann - Your car sure looks nice. We have to take mine back to the shop. It's my only complaint about my JEEP. It's very new and they've had to replaced a plastic shield on the passenger side by the seat several times. Not a good item.

Ann - Your comment about the air conditioner is cute. When we built our house many years ago I convinced Darrell to include central air in the money we borrowed and he's thanked me many times. He does not handle heat in the house well at all. The funny thing is he can work outside in it if it isn't too humid. I'm the one turning the thermostat warmer at times. Ann be careful about over doing the water thing also, 8 cups isn't going to do any damage but I do know from one of my nurse friends that going over board can wash out the electolytes from our bodies.

Well I should get busy. Have lots to get ready for when we go to the Samboree. I was just thinking last night while I was laying in bed when I should have been sleeping, that these aren't really relaxing, the Samborees that is. Everyone always seems to think they have to constantly be doing something and then of course we both have managed to get ourselves involved!!!! Once my term as President of our chapter is done next year I AM NOT going to take on anything.

Oh, Hobby Lobby loves to see walk in the door I think, I was just there today and came home with some new mats for my Cricut and some new die cutting plates for my Spellbinder. I do order a lot of that stuff on line tho because I can get it cheaper. But todays purchases were either on sale or I used my discount coupon on my phone.

Later
Arlene

Good Afternoon, much cooler today than yesterday. There is a breeze so it does feel cooler. Just talked to DS #1 on his way home from a wood working class in Ashville. He said it was starting to rain again on the way. A couple of weeks ago their daughter and her boy friend flew up for a long week end. DS said that was the only three sunny days they have had this summer. Their garden has produced zilch and their fruit trees if they had anything growing, the wild animals ate. If it were up to him I think this would be the end of gardening but DIL does like to work in the garden. She'll be dripping wet and still enjoys it.

I don't know how you ladies do it. I'm trying to drink 2 quarts of water a day and it ain't easy.
I've even made some Crystal Lite to see if that helps. I sure couldn't leave the house for very long. I've been weighing each glass I pour and writing it down. I did make it yesterday.

I've got my nose into another good book.

Jacque, my old Elner doesn't have an automatic threader we were using one of those thin wire jobbers.

Ruthann, get yourself one of those long handle duster and you do do the job pronto. It is so nice to have a spruced up car.

Marianne, your Mexican Fiesta sound really nice. I love Mexican food as long as it isn't too spicy. I'll never forget the time after we came to Ca. from Tenn. a friend fixed us tacos. What a strange meal that was to this New Englander.

Brenda, I'm going to look up that web site so I can send it to my sons.

Picked up my car yesterday. WOW! how to make an older car look like new. I get all kinds of looks. I think they are confused how it got to look so good. He had it for 3 days and I will post pictures. Amazing.... It had tons of scratches and it had been in an accident before I got it and the paint was kind of faded. Not any more. My GF hubby did it. I wanted to cover it when I got home. Now I will have to dust it every time I use it.
Check it out.
Love it.

Awww, a new Hobby Lobby enthusiast! Yay!

DH and I went to look at some trees to plant this fall - that will probably more than take care of any anticipated Hobby Lobby purchases!

I am going to try my hand at some apple hand pies this afternoon - fruit off our own little apple tree. It's a Spark recipe shared by a member of another team, and uses some phyllo dough, which I have had in my freezer since using 1/2 of it another time. Win/win!

Have a good day!

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

Hello all,

I've read to catch up after three days of mostly caring for grandkids. DH helped yesterday which was greatly appreciated. A few of you have mentioned Hobby Lobby ; oh my goodness! I went to one for the first time yesterday and can tell it's going to be a very dangerous place for me! emoticon

We're doing yard work this morning and then later this afternoon I'm going to the community center to help set up for tonight's event, a Mexican fiesta, where I'll be serving food. We're expecting 100 people, not a bad number for our area. Somewhere in there I'll fit in a 30 minute Zumba DVD for cardio.

Enjoy your day.

Good morning. Just a quick pop in. Need to get busy. I've read all the posts, but have my mind elsewhere so don't remember who posted what.

Ann, sounds like you have a gambler in the family, lol. Hope he knows how to quit if he starts losing. I don't use the automatic threader on my machine. I never could figure it out. I still just do it the old fashion way.

I hope everyone has a great day today. It's beautiful outside here right now. I think it should be nice all day, though back up in the low 90s. I don't mind that.

I got out and went to a fitness class yesterday morning after getting home mowed the front yard (which takes 90 minutes with a push mower) then had the energy to finish sewing together the sweater I had finished knitting. Not to bad for the first one. Like a new recipe if I do it again I wrote myself notes on what to change next time.

Today I will go and have lunch with dad and set out his weekly Rx.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

DH and I got home from the Dr. office in time to watch the Little League World Series Game. A Ca.team that is 6 miles south of San Diego is playing and won in the 7th inning 3 - 0. Mi. lost. Sorry Mi. ladies.. It was a great game. Another team this same town in Ca. won the championship 3 or 4 years ago. These kids are 11 - 13. better than watching the major league.

DD came by to replace the elastic in her swim trunks using my sewing machine. I finally got called to help with the machine. We had the worse time threading the needle. Yes we were using a threader but you still have to get it in the hole before you can put the thread through. LOL After she left I told DH I could not believe she didn't give up and leave. She doesn't have a lot of patience and I don't any more when it comes to sewing, but the job got done. While DD was here GS called and told her he wanted to go to the race track. I guess he's gone twice and had someone places a bet for him and he's won twice. I know the first time he won $90.00. (He's 14) DD told him to call his dad. This is the same kid that was picking football scores when he was in grade school for DDs work football pool. And she won.

When DD was here she complained it was hot in the house. It has warmed up outside today. DH turned the air conditioner on for a little while and cooled it off. I had been just running the fan.

Ruthann and Brenda, you two got more out of that car field than I did, as I was fixing supper when it was on and only saw pits and pieces on the TV.

I am really really trying to drink more water/liquid. I should be drinking 2 - 3 quarts a day. If I finish this glass it will be two quarts and I've been running to the bathroom almost every hour. Well maybe every hour and a half.

Well, I was going into my vol. job and got a call about an hour before I was scheduled. This is from the guy that works at the front desk and we cover all the questions while he works. He asks me to come in later as he wanted to take some time off this afternoon. So hung out at home for a couple hrs. before going in. It was a great day for him to leave early!! Did my walking with the mail run and did some visiting with other staff. Got home and Roger had dinner ready!! Thinking about going out tonight yet. Will see!!

Sounds like every one is having a busy Fri. Our weather is going to be nice until Sun. when the heat & humidity roll in. Love having the house open but that will change!! Of course it is our state fair week next week and the heat is ramping up like it does every yr. I don't go but Roger goes with his brother(s) for a day.

Enjoy your weekend and I will as well. Chat tomorrow!!

Ann I just looked up that car dealership article WOW also looked at the auction sight that would be fun to go watch & see what everything goes for unbelievable all the low mileages on the car & trucks,

I think this is the last cool day next week its suppose to heat back up which is good it has been to cool for me,

We went to the cemetery last evening to wish Mom a Happy Birthday the first without her. Then we were so close to sis house I ask hubby can we go check on the cat Darcee. so we did she is still scared sis had her in the bathroom till she gets use to the other 2 cats she was hiding be-hide the toilet wouldn't come out but I tried and she did let me pet her and did come out half way I think she going to be in a better home & love for a pet just not a $$ maker to breed.

Today would of be Michael dads birthday he would be 101 he passed in1970 just when he was 12 so we will go to his cemetery tonight.

Well just wanted to say hello and tell you all have a great day talk later Brenda

Good morning all.
A quick note and then I'm going to finish up all my work for the morning. I think I'll work on a couple of projects here this afternoon, so if I have everything done I don't have to mess with any of it.

Ruthann, how nice that your car is almost done. I know you'll be thrilled with it. You have great friends.

Eileen, I hope you got all the rest you wanted yesterday. Sometimes we just have to have an 'off' day.

Ann, I hope that you get to use your A/C, lol. Well???? maybe not. If you don't have to use it, it means you're having great weather, I hope.

Not much else going on here right now. Have a good day all.

Anne: That is quite the story. How cool some of these cars were bran new and left in the field with only 1.3 of a mile on it. The owner would only sell New Chevy cars and then he would bring their trade in out into the field and leave it there. How crazy is this? ? ? The cars are old and need paint by the looks. What an amazing way to have an old car and fix them up.
I am glad Larry don't live near or here would be right there. Thanks for the heads up.

Got home late tonight. I think I will be getting my car back tomorrow from having it detailed. How cool this will be to pick it up and see it look... Clean and the best that it can be for a 2004 Ford Focus wagon. I can't wait to see it. I sure have some great friends. For sure.....

Later got to hit the bed. Maybe get a few more hours sleep ....LOL.....

Good evening all!

I took an R&R day today. Tired and just needed to keep the feet up. Wish I had the energy that you all have!! Got my nails done today as I had 2 of the acrylics pop off this week, one today. So knew I needed to get in. Really need to get my hair done too but want to hold off for a week as the planned trips and my timing aren't working out (lol). I might nave to show my true colors when we meet!!

Will be going to my vol. job at 10 AM tomorrow instead of noon so a little longer. Hoping the interior destruction of the construction is done!

Sounds like all are busy and enjoying your day. Hoping tomorrow is a great one for all!!

RuthAnn, did you by chance catch the NIghtly News (NBC) tonight? They had a story about a couple that are in their 90's. He use to have a Chev. car dealership. When he went out of business there were many cars left on a field and are still there to this day. Some real oldies. There is going to be an auction of them I believe it is later this month. The town is Pierce, Neb. You might beable to see the story on line. It was quite interesting.

P J I have had a crown fall out twice. First time the dentist reglued it, Second time I have no idea where it went and the dentist replaced it. No charge I guess this is the reason I don't eat pop corn or sticky candy any more.

Brenda, that's a pretty good name for a cat. When I grew up we had a black cat named Sooty and two cats another time named Ditto and Repeat.

It is warming up a little here. More so expected tomorrow. One of these days we'll get to try out the new air conditioners. If DH can put up Christmas lights around the outside of the house I can have an air conditioner. So there.

Breanda what a trip you had. WOW but it all turned out in the end.

The eye doctor says that it is my astigmatism causing the problem in the right eye. They were to correct it and they just did not get it as perfect as the left. So he gave me a new eyeglass prescription. I can see ok just that one eye is not as good as the other and I didn't understand why. As he said they were able to get the left perfect and the right is not perfect. So I will live with it but after he checks it in six months I may go to another doctor for a second opionion He also said that the astimatism may correct it self some more with more time.

DH and I went to the dentist this morning I checked out ok. His crown came lose while we were there and they temporarily glued it back on. Said that might last a few weeks, months or years. This afternoon part of the outside of the crown fell apart. We called the dentist he is to call back with plan of action if any.

I have the meeting cooking for my second time of making tamales. I will put them together and cook them on Sunday. We will have a lot of tamales in the freezer. As it makes a lot of them so the long process is worth it once they are done.

Thats it for me today. Have a nice evening.

Good morning. A quick pop in before I finish up my work and head to lunch.

Ruthann, I get tired reading your posts, lol. You are on the go more then me I believe. It is nive that you have such a good friend as Lorraine there. I'm glad she is able to help you out. I know she'll love the table when it's finished. That is a very nice way of saying thank you.

Sharon, it's always so nice to run into old friends, no matter where it is.
Glad you had a good visit.

Hi,
Just a quick check in. I had a good morning at TOPS so now I just have to carry it over to our challenge on Saturday, especially since I will be gone most of next week.

Well I better go find a recipe for cookies so I can get them baked for next week too.

Good Morning!

It's just a still and beautiful morning outside. It wasn't too cold although there are a lot of tenters that I don't envy this morning. It got down in the 50's so it must have been cold in the tents. We've had a bowl of cereal and Norm is busy hooking up. We'll be out of here in a short time. I have enjoyed this campground so I hate to leave but we have more adventures calling us!

Oh, it was funny, while we were walking around the souvenir shops yesterday we ran in to a family we know from back home. We haven't seen them for a couple years. That was the highlight of our day!

Brenda - your story is too funny! I'm just glad the two of you found people willing to help you and it sounds like it all worked out for the best. I'm sure your sister is happy the car is fixed! And yes, I do believe most people are good. It's just that people, especially the media, focus on the bad in people!

Sharon: I thought I forgot to post yesterday. HA You gals type so much that I seemed to get lost in the post.

Well I got up late this am and had to get out to my line dancing. Lorraine has lent me her car for a few days while my other GF husband is compounding and waxing my car. Larry is paying for it for my BD. He is only charging me $40 plus a $10 for the compound stuff. I have a 2004 Ford Focus Wagon and I have only 75,000 miles on it. It is paid for and I like that part of it. Darn Lorraine's car has over 45,000 miles on hers and it is only 2 years old. But that is why she bought it so we could travel in it. She sure is a good friend. I cleaned out the inside of her car today. It really needed it. It looks just like new.

Larry and I will be going out to Lorraine's tomorrow to build her a picnic table. We will have a cook out and hopefully finish the table. It will be cute. It is a small one and it has two small benches. Enough for 2 people to sit on. She has one that is rotted and now they will be using it for a pattern. Larry is a perfectionist and I can see that it will really be great when he finishes. (He loves working with wood) That is what friends do....

We picked veggies at my GF's house while she is in Alaska. We pick her garden and then bring it down to the Senior Center. I will be delivering it in the morning on the way out to Lorraine's.
After picking veggies we both went to dinner at our other GF's house and had BBQ Ribs and all kinds of veggie salads. Yum GOOD!
Then we went to a car club meeting and afterwards we went and got a BKing Ice cream cone. OH MY Everything is celebrated with food......
Such fun!
It is raining for the first time in a long time. We sure can use it. BUT it better stop We still have another month before it turns to gloom..... Then I will be looking forward toward leaving for Yuma at the end of January.....Yeah!

Hi all,

Busy day today. Got to my vol. job and the construction had moved indoors from the outdoors right by the desk I sit at. Listened to the lift going up and down with the beeping as the workers constructed a temporary wall to wall off the windows that have to come out to tie the new building into the "older" building (it was 2 y/o in Feb.) We have clinics on a waiting list for an office so another 3 story wing is being added. Headache time!! About half an hr. from leaving, Roger called and said we needed to go get Mahlia from child care. I had a grocery list that I was going for as long as I was in the area so rushed there, home, put things away and Roger said he would get her while I fixed supper. She didn't want to eat with us so we ate so that Roger could get some sleep before working tonight. Keeping us on our toes!!

Ann, thanks for the recipe ideas. We use the acorn squash and haven't worked with any others. I can eat the acorn as long as it has br. sugar baked into it.

Arlene, sounds like you have a great creative streak in you:) i'm not into pie making anymore so if I need a pie, I cheat and go buy one from a bakery or something like that.

PJ I didn't have time to con't looking for my hooks so that's a tomorrow project whenever tomorrow gets here. Sorry to hear about your vision problems. Certainly hope you get back to good vision soon!!

Brenda, love you story!! Wow, what a day you had and isn't it wonderful to find some people that want to help you? Yes, it certainly did click for you and your sis!!

Sharon, glad you're having a good time. I tried to find you on FB and hope I did. Sent a request. Enjoy the wedding!!

All for tonight. Have all my trackers to do yet and time is getting short! Have a great night and day tomorrow. We are truly enjoying the cool weather with the house open but that is soon to change:( Oh well, life in MN!!

Eileen

Ann - I'm not sure if a store bought pie would go over but if I had made one it would have been a refrigerated one with a graham cracker crust. Those I can usually do.

Sharon - Enjoy that trip out with the motor home and the wedding. That should be fun. I looked at the pics on Facebook as I'm sure you probably seen by now.

Jacque - I'm sure you'll get your work done on time, you so to good at what you do for it to not to be.

Brenda - That was quite an adventure. Good things for good people I always say.

I got the grass cut tonight and some more branches off the Junipers out back. I do it slowly so there isn't too much for the garbage men at one time. Worked on dead heading flowers till my trimmers broke so tomorrow I'll have to go get a new one. This one Darrell can't fix:)

Catch you all later,
Arlene
