Ok, so my plans for the summer are shot! I can't get any of my Girl Scouts to participate. The girls voted on what they wanted to do, but I think the parents have other plans :( Oh, well, they were gung-ho when I said we were going to have field trips, but noone has shown! We'll see what happens near the beginning of school!

That sounds like fun :) Our SU has a big carnival every fall, Troops are welcome to set up booths at $5 a piece and sell whatever they would like, or have games or whatever. We've thought about doing a yard sale, car wash, barbeque, something like that at our meetingplace. My oldest daughter has great dream trips she would love to do, and they all definately take more money than the average Cookie Sale raises!

We are going to New York City for 4 days in July! We have been saving the past 2 years. Have a car wash in June and the first week of July to help offset the cost of Broadway show tickets.

Yeah, we did Sea World in a day, it's like a two and half hour drive from Jax to Sea World. We thought about doing a campout at the same time. My oldest daughter's Brownie troop did Epcot like that, stayed in Camp Wilderness on Disney property. Free transportation :)

Monkey Joe's is a place that has about 30 different bouncy houses/slides geared just for kids. It was great. I wish we lived close enough to someplace like Sea World to take our girls there for a trip....we have considered The Baltimore Aquarium but that is like an hour and 1/2 drive one way for our girls...could be a long trip.
Enjoy the summer.

Our SU has a Bake-Off in the Winter to benefit SHARE. Monkey Joe's sounds fun, is it like a Chuck-E-Cheese? Our COA is going to be in June. With sports, it's hard to get the girls all together during the weekly meetings, so we are doing it on a Saturday afternoon, after games. The girls had a blast at Sea World. Some of them are already making plans on how many cookies they will sell next year to go back!

I live in Shepherdstown, WV. I am planning to meet with my girls once a month during the summer for some fun activities. Our last meeting will be our Court of Awards Ceremony next Tuesday. Today, we are baking cupcakes for our Cupcakes and Cookies event to benefit our Council's SHARE programs. For our end of year trip, we took our girls to Monkey Joe's for a pizza party. They had a great time. I have enjoyed being my daughters girl scout leader.
Your trip to Sea World sounds awesome.

That sounds awesome! I live in Maryland. I've been a Brownie leader for 2 years and my Daughter and I will be moving to Juniors in Sept. Our last meeting was last Wednesday. We don't meet during the summer. We had a great year. We did a lot of volunteer work and had some fun too! I'm looking forward to Juniors. My daughter just loves scouts. It's a lot of work for me, but well worth it. Girl Scouts is a great organization for girls to be in.

Anyone going to be meeting during the Summer? Camping? End of the Year trips to where?
My troop is going to be meeting one Saturday in June, July, and August. Start back full force in September! Hopefully, going camping towards the end of the Summer, we have lovely camping areas around here. Our EOY trip was to Sea World, Orlando. They have a great program where you get a Fun Patch, two hour class on conservation and marine life, and then the park is yours until close. For $25 per person, plus one chaperone gets in free per ten kids. Plus, they have all you can eat wristbands that is a great deal if you stay all day! (No, I don't work for them, I'm just glad I stumbled upon the deal to give my Brownies their dream EOY trip )
