I wouldn't bother with a doctor, most doctors don't no nutrition, they get no training in med school unless they chose it. consult a nutritional counselor
The best thing to do is to eat raw. I agree with that. I've done a liver cleanse. With the liver cleanse its' for 7 days, all raw, and juice included,, with a juicer only, not with store bought juice.
Read up on it, and consult someone in the Herbal community, and or, your doctor.
if you want to cleanse eat 100% raw for a while. that will do it and safely
I did a "cleanse/detox" type thing earlier this year. It wasn't too extreme or crazy I just cut out: caffeine, alcohol, added sugar, soy, animal products and gluten. So you live on beans, nuts, seeds, vegetables, fruits and gluten free grains. I was able to go about 5 days and lost 4 lbs - a glass of wine and homemade cheeseless pizza was my downfall. I need to do this again.
The only things I added back to normal levels were alcohol and gluten I'll have the occasional soy and sweet treat.
I think cleanse means different things to different people. You'll have the people that will do only juice or some sort of concoction for days. It's probably OK to do a juice feast once in a while (and would consider it if I had a juicer) but I don't think it would be healthy to do them all the time, and definitely no master cleanse type things. That's my 2 cents anyway.

Have any of you ever tried a "cleanse"? If so what did you follow? Did it work? Any comments on the process. I was thinking about trying one but wanted some feedback first.
