Very cool! My daughter is very talented with the piano, but won't apply herself. I had lessons as a child and enjoy it, but I will never be evry good. One of those things I enjoy, but have little talent.

On another team they listed a bunch of food with protien in it. I thought this would help you out.

Here is a list of several good sources of protein:

Seitan
Lentils
Kidney beans
Black beans
Chickpeas
Vegetarian baked beans
Pinto beans
Black-eyed peas
Lima beans
Quinoa
Bagel
Peas
Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP)

I just checked the Quorn website and found that the Cub Foods I normally shop at carries their products...though I might have a better selection at some of the other stores listed near me, like Whole FOods and Mississippi Market. Thanks a bunch.

Thats a good idea on the seitan. I get quorn products at whole foods. The favorites are chicken patties and nuggets. The meatballs and the turkey roll(not sure what they call it)

Thanks for the advice...I will have to look into that product, quorn...I have also tried making seitan, but having never had it otherwise, I don't know what it should be like as a finished product. I may try the store bought stuff once just to get a feel for it.

I have friend who is allergic to soy. So I know how you feel. There is some veggie meats that are not soy and taste very good. It's called quorn. www.quorn.us//cmpage.aspx?section=Re

Store bought seitan has soy sauce in it. So you would have to make it. And substitute for the soy sauce(veggie broth is one idea). I have some recipes(some from spark) but have not tried to make it yet. It looks hard and I'm not a good cook.

I have never had a problem with soy products, until after my son was born. Right at 6 weeks postpartum I developed a rash on my arms and thighs and through my lifestyle changes (diet & exercise) I have found that I am allergic to soy products now.

Anyone have any good protein ideas they can share?
Has anyone used seitan with success?
