If you saw the show, it's the same info. Very informative, practical advice. I haven't listened to the cd yet. I need the reminders to take my time eating, eating only when I am hungry, etc.

That's good to know but I like FREE (ie at the library) better. How are you liking the book so far?

Bud....Paul McKenna is a really interesting guy. Last spring (in March/April) I watched his series on TV and surprisingly his techniques work! Just wish I would remember to practice them! Please let us know what you think. I think I may look into getting the book and check it out sometime in the near future. (after I'm done the books I'm already reading)

Hi all
Bouncer, We are all hoping that bigger losses can be the norm, but I agree with L8, 9 pounds sounds like a really healthy loss--one that will stay away because it's real. I can't remember the last time I lost more than 2 pounds in a month. But other changes and feeling better keep me going.
I remember the Sunday morning PSAT--it did seem strange. But it's followed by years of SATs, ACTs etc at equally strange time.
I did too much yesterday and feeling poorly, hope the doc can see me tomorrow. I know my problem is not ER worthy but it's literally a pain to wait.
I got this book from the library called I can make you thin. It's self hypnosis and is really popular in the UK. I'm totally skeptical but since I can't do much today I might as well listen to the CD.
My brother in law got laid off from his job last week and on the way home from the experience was so distracted he got in a car accident. He wasn't hurt but messed up his car. So far I'm thinking 2009 is not off to a great start. Hope it will be a case of in like a lion out like a lamb.

Morning all.

I'm up and out driving bright and early today. My youngest is taking the PSATs at school this morning. How strange is that to have something planned for this early on a Sunday?

Bouncer, it sounds like you are experiencing a healthy rate of weight loss to me but I understand your being unhappy if you aren't meeting your expectations. It's how you feel with your weight loss that's important. A visit to the doctor sounds like a good idea. She'll be able to pinpoint if something is off kilter or if your goals just need to be tweaked a bit.

I'm loving hearing that no one else plans out their menus for the week. The new book I'm reading stresses planning and sticking to your plan. It really has been key to my recent success staying on track and shedding the pounds, but what a drag! It takes so much time and takes a lot of the creativity and spontaneity out of cooking. For now I'll continue planning out 3 days at a time. I'm a big fan of success.

Let me start with a general feel better soon to all! Lets all have a healthy and happy February.

January was a great start to meeting my goals. I lost almost 9 pounds this month and hope to lose even more next month. I'm still struggling to be happy with the little steps I am making towards my goal weight. I was really hoping that the weight would just fall off once my baby was born.

Since I'm not losing as fast as I usually do and I'm not feeling up to snuff I am going to the doctor for blood tests to see if there is a medical reason why I'm not losing. The two weeks before my wedding I lost 15 pounds and 3 inches without even trying (yes, I know it's not a healthy weight loss).

Here's to a FANTASTIC February!

Just thought I'd let you guys know that I'm having a pretty good day today. Only 2 episodes so far. Much better than the 5-7 that I have been having! Haven't been doing anything though. Just resting and napping which is good because I'm wiped!

Oh man Bud! Not a good thing at all. Don't ya just hate it when things like that happen? My thoughts and prayers are with you! Hang in there and chill like the doctor ordered!

I hate planning as well but have gotten used to planning in general terms. Narrowing down a few meals that I will eat sometime "within the next couple days". I never know what I'll want to eat until a few hours before hand. At times I try to force myself to decide that morning or if I'm lucky, the night before but never several days in advance let alone a week in advance.

I envy people who plan, it has never worked for my family, probably because I spoiled them and didn't make them eat what I want to fix, but fix what they want and they never know to the very last minute.

My GI issue does not appear to be a bug. Might be a hernia or an internal hemorrhoid. Have to go see GI doc next week and am supposed to chill until I see doctor. Ironic that a reward for exercising is a problem . . .
So I have no recourse for eating cake (reference blog). I'm bummed to say the least. I'm definitely out of sorts.

Thanks l8 :) I have to sit down with dh and plan menus for the week. I can usually do the lunch stuff for me on my own, but we always have the "what do you want for dinner" conversation when I am not working my night job.

Look at you Irish, closing in on your first milestone on your weightloss ticker- the 51 lb marker! Wow you must feel fantastic.

Sorry yoo're a little under the weather Bud. Hope your bug doesn't take you out of commission for the whole weekend.

Nothing much going on here. Just spent about an hour planning the menues and grocery list to cover the next three days. Taking this time is not something I've grown used to yet, but I know it saves me money at the store and weight around my middle!

Hi everyone.

Can you believe it's the last day of January already?

How are you all doing? Need help or need to celebrate?
